    Is anyone watching this?

Based on a rather naughty comic book series about superheroes gone bad and the people who try to stop them. Rude language, occasional nudity and extremely gory - the main character has been covered in other people's blood and guts several times. And a whale's guts too.

For the Timeless fans, it has the same showrunner and a couple of the actors have made appearances - Malcolm Barrett (Rufus on Timeless) has a bit part in a few episodes, and Goran Visnjic (Garcia Flynn on Timeless) has appeared in a few episodes halfway through season 2.

It's coming up on the end of season 2, and man, my head's exploding. I like the comics, but the show is probably better - it's simplified the storyline and made some changes from the comics that have turned out pretty amazing.

Unlike many streaming shows on Amazon, it's coming out week by week. The last episode of season 2 comes out next week, usually late in the day on Thursdays.

Yes. It's great. Antony Starr as Homelander is still underrated imho.

It's not exactly subtle in its white supremacist themes during season two, but then it doesn't have to be. Also, Aya Cash is a great Stormfront.

Claudia Doumit (Jiya on Timeless) is also in it, as congresswoman Neumann (she was the one speaking at the rally that Homelander interrupted and where he had the fantasy of murdering the crowd with his laser eyes).

Kripke has used other actors from previous shows. Jim Beaver was in episode one, he was a guest star on Kripke's old show Supernatural for ages. And Jensen Ackles (one of the Supernatural leads) is going to get a part in The Boys season three as Soldier Boy (a character who has been referenced a few times in season two as one of Vought's first successful supes).

Loved the comic and love the show. The casting has been pretty good as well. Tons of little Easter eggs to the comic spread throughout the show.

I saw Season 1 a little while ago and loved it. I've been meaning to watch Season 2 but haven't had the chance to yet. Hopefully soon. :)

As for NBC's Timeless: it's still among the best shows introduced in the last few years, both its first and second seasons.

Can't believe we are already at the last episode of season two this week.

Very good season of TV, though I thought how they ended up dealing with Stormfront was a bit of an anticlimax?

    Also:
    Show Spoiler

How exactly did Queen Maeve show up at the right time and the exact right place if she was never part of their plans?

And season 3 seems like they took the training wheels off and now we're getting exactly zero restraint. The show just keeps getting better.

On an entirely different note, young Grace Mallory in the Nicaragua flashback sequence was kind of working for me.

BTW, on that note, the casting department did their homework!

The casting has been impeccable. The only moments where I'm taken out of the story are the ones where I'm supposed to be (Charlize Theron, Billy Zane, etc). I have no problem buying the younger version of anyone on the show.

The Theron cameo was fun. I guess it helps that Rogen is pals with her in real life.

I thought the young Stan Edgar in the Nicaragua scene was brilliant - just a great imitation of Giancarlo Esposito.

Yep. My first thought was, is that Edgar? Then he just nailed the posture, cadence of speech, etc., and immediately it felt like the right choice.

It felt like a great episode where the least interesting part was the orgy.

Erin Moriarty's delivery in this scene, especially in the "nom, nom, nom" part of it had me in stitches.

Wait, they add the cape in post during action sequences?

It's always fun when they do something like that and get it right. There's a show coming out on Amazon on Friday called The Terminal List. It's based on the first book in a series of novels written by an ex Navy Seal named Jack Carr. He wrote the lead character with Chris Pratt in mind and got Pratt to agree to play the role before he even pitched it to the various networks and streaming services.

It just keeps getting better. Tons of character development, especially interesting stuff with Noir, and then at the end of the episode they drop the bomb I've been expecting for 2-3 episodes now.

I genuinely have no idea what the final episode of the season is going to bring.

I think it would have been more interesting if Soldier Boy and Homelander had remained on separate sides. I had assumed they would end up on the same side, but it's still a bit of a letdown. Hadn't seen the paternal stuff coming though.

Loved the animation stuff for Noir. And how they let the animated Payback members do a curtain call at the end. :D
