An old Crew face starts for RSL. Plot note - Will Porter receive the Search for Spock revival or the dreaded Emperor Palpatine treatment?
Away Time zone change @ altitude We would be losing this game even if RSL didn't stand 2nd in the Supporters Shield chase (3rd in terms of PPG). Only question is how badly; guessing 1-2.
We haven't played in Salt Lake since 7/29/2017. Ola Kamara got a brace. We were supposed to travel there for a game on 3/21/2020, but...yeah. If it seems like a hot minute since we've played there, it definitely has been. So much has happened since then.
Has it been that long? Wow.... But, bigger league and COVID, so.... I know in AAA baseball, my Phillies farm club, the IronPigs, haven't been to Columbus since 2019, and won't appear here this year either. But the IL is bigger too than it iwas.
Nope. I just double-checked. We lost 2-0 at home in 2019. Sosa and Crognale both got yellow cards. You're right though on more teams and COVID. It's easy to imagine that it'll be longer stretches of time between visits to western conference stadia. The IL no longer exists (AFAIK), but I know what you mean. It's great to see new teams, but they should figure out a way to mix in some of those other teams.
No, MLB has reinstated the old name(s) as of this year. So it's the IL again--but really in name only as it's all run out of MLB's HQ. Not sure if they've reinstated the name of the league on the baseballs yet. I got one in Akron accidentally this year (walking by the stadium and one came out during BP about 10 feet in front of me). and it said "Minor League Baseball" with Rob Manfred's name on it--but as it was a BP ball, it could have been from last season. Haven't gotten one at a Clippers game yet, but AAA used a lot of MLB balls last season, especially during BP). Edit: Much as I despise how MLB took over MiLB, in a page out of the Sopranos. it turns out that they were right about a lot of things and many of the changes are good. 6 game home stands and a common travel day make financial sense (and are greener, with less travel). The season is longer--and I like that as September often brings nice weather for baseball. Having a place to try our rules changes is good. But I've not forgotten that it was a hostile takeover with some cities getting royally scr*wed.
1 - I look forward to your match threads. 2 - Happy birthday to your pops. As to this game... I have a bad feeling about this.
Well, let's see: RSL is 4th in the league (PPG-wise), and doesn't lose at home. We're 11th in the Eastern Conference, playing away, and most of our important players are still out or questionable. This should be bad. ReAL bad. It's MLS, so we could always get one of those "are you kidding me" results, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Swoon. Wait.. what were we talking about….? Will Porter bench Berry after admitting that Miguelol is not a starting forward-caliber player? Probably not.
Just changed my vote from Molino plus win to Disaster-class. The five points are tempting, but we are just not as good as the 2016 Orlando side Molino carried after returning from a season ending injury.
I’m also told that Kevin Molino did not make the trip with #Crew96 to #RSL tonight despite not initially being on the injury report.— Patrick Murphy (@_Pat_Murphy) June 25, 2022
Probably rotating for a loss tonight, more full strength v Toronto. I hope JRR plays over Berry. I honestly hope they play JRR v Toronto so I can see him in person. Allow me to shock everyone with this take, I wanna see Matan start v TFC as well, I wanna see him in person.
