Thats wishful thinking, There were zero final tickets for FCFS1 and I know of no one that got any in the ballot. (so must have been massively oversubscribed)

Final tickets will likely be like gold dust unless previous applications/sales have all been a ploy to try and manufacture fake demand (which I doubt)

Here are the 2018 prices. I make a Cat 2 price for the SF for this year $950.
I think, though, the increase has been exaggerated by the rise in the Qatari currency (10% against the USD over the last 12 months - dont get me started on the rise against GBP), That has knocked up the cost of the tournament for everyone attending. Cant really blame them for that.

In context generally, it is the biggest sports event in the world and once in 4 years.

No visa to go to KSA for GCC residents soon. Which will make it much easier to drive from Dubai to Qatar for the world cup. I wouldnt be surprised if KSA follows Iran and waive visa for Hayya cards holders

Thanks for that. So the cat 1 final ticket is up almost 50% $1625 vs $1100. The SFs are up 30%. That's quite a lot in 4 years. I know the cat 2 and 3 are cheaper, but i've been stuck in endzone seating before (low to the pitch) where one can't really follow much of the match.

While you are technically correct there were loads of TST7s available in the FCFS phase.

I was shocked at how easy it was to get one. Indeed I think they were still left 24 hours after it opened. Even South Africa had higher demand at this stage and they were bringing in schoolkids to most games apart from Cape Town.

I didn't get in until over an hour after it opened. I just missed Canada and Argentina Cat 3 TST7s. I got Iran easily. I had no intention of going back for the final but will do now.

I believe it could be a reasonably easy ticket if two continental European sides end up in the final. You would still need to spend hours on the portal most likely.

    I think 2026 will be a nightmare.

So if you really do want to see a final then 80K capacity a week before Christmas is probably as good a chance as you'll get.

In general we will get a better idea of demand a few days after the FCFS phase opens.

No, BUT you can buy MORE tickets to a game you already purchased (up to the maximum allowed). It will have a different application number. You would have to put the name of the other guests, and you will probably need to do this option of tying the two applications so that the seats are next to each other.

To explain what I did: in the past FCFS I wanted a Cat.1 ticket to a QF (or round of 16), but there was none available, so I bought a Cat.2. Then, I entered 10-15 minutes later and lo and behold, there was a Cat.1 for that match. I was able to buy it, but it has a different application number.

Now I am waiting for FIFA to return the Cat.2 ticket.

FWIW my experience of the Final having been to the last 8 tournaments.

1990 - easily available from the FAI (Football Association of Ireland) and on sale below face value in Rome once Italy went out.
1994 - didn't try but an Irish friend got one easily enough. in general tickets were scarce in advance but easier once tournament got closer.
1998 - tried and failed to get one. I didn't go without one but very tough.
2002 - I didn't try just had Republic of Ireland conditional which was easy via FAI.
2006 - tried and couldn't get one beforehand. I was offered one at FV the morning after the Munich SF but couldn't justify a 5th trip.
2010 - didn't try but very very easy. A friend said a bit of work to get a cat 3 turned down loads of cat 1s and 2s. TST7 okay if you picked the right country.
2014 - really tough. would have gone back.
2018 - booked flights. tougher than expected but got one.
2022 - very easy to buy via a TST7 in the FCFS phase. Some friends went back and bought 2 to try and cover both SFs.

I'm going through messages in chronological order so maybe there has been other replies to this message.
The Fan Guide does state that cross border travel via road will be allowed. But it's not clear whether that will be only for Citizens and Residents or also for visitors. and even less clarity on whether hired vehicles can cross the border. My current plan is to fly in Riyadh from UK and then get driven by a friend/resident in their Saudi registered personal car into Qatar (they also need Hayya card - meaning ticket and accommodation - to cross border) . But I will be on visitor visa (which BTW usually provided within few minutes on applying online - for those preferred nationalities). Unless I get some more clarity on these points I may consider flying into Doha (££££££ :().

Very interesting. One usually thinks the Final is almost impossible to get. with the exception of 2014; it's been accesible. I'm hoping for Argentina - Brazil semi... Argentina - Portugal Final. ....

Ok, so I can't seem to find the answer, perhaps it's my ignorance. So i'll ask it here.

The tickets I have bought I used my wife and kids info, my brother in law is going . I can't change his name to his yet on tickets, but can he still use the ticket application number for his Hayya card application or does he have to wait for name to match?

he just needs an application number to book accommodation (no name match needed). The next step is to apply for Hayya. (Here the Name on accommodation has to match Hayya application).

Noted, but a separate application means for 2 extra seats - one for me and one for the additional guest, when all I want is 1 extra guest ticket...

I really hope not. I find Argentina fans to be insufferable. Sat in front of some at a few games and it's just "Messi, Messi, pase a Messi"

I want Argentina to flame out so badly. 3 losses, trainwreck.

Will the TST7s be back on sale in this upcoming FCFS phase?
