“Renewal” and owing money are two different things. Last year the renewal intention was july/august but my first payment was due in October if I recall correctly.
I just looking around the site and the 2023 prices are posted: https://www.columbuscrew.com/tickets/memberships/
Here is a quick comparison I did. It looks like most of the stadium pricing is dropping a bit, but the corners are going up a ton. I also included the STM pricing from 2022 for reference. Edit: The sideline pricing isn't exactly 1 to 1 as they split it up differently, I tried to match as best I could but this will vary by individual seat fairly significantly.
Pretty sure Upper Endline (south end) is $38 this year (and was $37 last year), so it's actually dropping. Assuming they're having trouble selling that section. Actually last season I asked about moving closer to the aisle. They offered me a new row and section. Then I get to the first couple games this year and there are papers on the seats next to me (and closer to the aisle) telling the person in that seat they can secure the seat for the season...WTHeck ticket rep people? Probably my fault for missing the choose your seat thing
Oh yeah, corners are going up quite a bit. They were much closer to the Upper Endline pricing for the inaugural year (we were debating between the two).
I’m just glad mine are going down. This made the difference in renewing or not. Could move a couple rows up and save myself $870 total for my 3 seats. Decisions decisions.
Now that prices are, generally speaking, coming down, will people stop saying the tickets don’t cost too much? The FO thinks they do.
Our attendance numbers don’t think so. But maybe the FO senses the unease in the fan base and is trying to bring it down a notch.
A couple of things: I'm in Nordecke and I don't know that I got a call or email about renewal yet? It says sold out. If I can't get in Nordecke again, I won't renew. I spoke to some work acquaintances at the game that were midfield upper deck last year and moved down to the NE corner and said how much they saved and enjoy it so much more. Said fans are much more engaged down below. Wonder how they will feel about increase - looks to still be much cheaper - which just seems odd to me.
If you have season tickets in the Nordecke already you will still have them. They are sold out on the website because the Nordecke sold out last year.
Credit to tomautomaton on Reddit for this. Ticket prices 2023 v 2022, down almost across the board, some might say massively. These are per match prices.
Long time lurker, first time poster... I'd like to see this comparison on the total season ticket cost per seat, not the average per match cost. While my "per match" price decreased, my total season ticket cost increased. This likely has to do with one of two things: 1) they're using a variable pricing model per match (which I believe they're doing this year) and/or 2) we're getting an 18 match schedule. That's the only way the math works out for me. Either way, I'm actually paying more money next year than this year despite the per match cost indicating a slight decrease. Not a complaint (I'm used to ticket prices increasing), just a little misleading/confusing when viewed from a per match basis. However, some of those Upper Sideline seats do look like a real cost adjustment given the large swing in prices and how difficult it's been sell at current price points.
I think next year we get the new MLS - Liga MX month long tournament which might account for number of games changing.
I've seen far more people seated in the upper sideline seats than the lower sideline seats near the corners. Thought they should have dropped those more. Weird that some sections are now the same price for any row but some are still different.
The sections I'm most interested in sitting in - lower level corners - went up in price. Guess I'm not the only one who finds those sections desirable.
You are probably right. Forgot about that. The Benefits page for 2023 ticket prices does confirm 18 matches, whether thats the Liga MX game or the league expanding the schedule (my unsupported, alternative hypothesis) remains to be seen. Might be worth me reaching out to my rep to confirm.
