Going to Qatar 2022: tickets, accommodations, etc. (non-politics)

Just saw a video from a Mexican Fan group that usually gets legit information beforehand and they say they have been told by a reliable source that the next FCFS phase will start on June 28th. I think I saw that date being mentioned here before, so a few more days to wait for it.

Just speculation for now, but given the rumors of being on the 28th, due to the fact that it is a Tuesday (when they usually start new phases) and also because they were wrong in the previous announcement about the payment term using precisely the June 28th (coincidence?), I'd venture to say that it'll be on that date

 

Guys, is it possible to transfer guest tickets from one account to another? I remember reading something about it here. If the answer is "yes", how can I do this and when will it be possible to do so?

May be 75 % are multiple applications but half of these multiples applications are for fans trying to secure their tickets, so genuine fans

 

yeah I got that also and me and my friends were dissecting it.

It appears to be an internal document as it talks about "Commercial Affiliates Opportunities", something you'd not see in a Fan's Guide. We were also told it's not final as I can see there are some TBCs in it and also an error on the Diplomatic Beach page for alcohol where Beach 2 is listed twice but not Beach 3.

It does give us concrete hope that there will be more viewing options beyond the 2 big Fan Fests and some with alcohol available. Note the Fan Fest in Al Bidda is on the map but it doers not get a page to its own which seems odd.

 

The FanFest was a problem in Moscow. They ended up scaling it back because it was on the University and they complained. I got locked out for one match; ended up having to watch a game on cell phones. So hopefully they plan well, specially around the “international beverage “ situation

More flight stuff:

There are now apparently matchday shuttles, operated by Qatar Airways, showing up on third party booking sites like Orbitz. $258 (same price as flydubai), flying out of DWC (same) but it's classfied as "Economy Lite" with a $275 checked bag fee

These do not appear to be available on the QR mobile app but do have QR flight numbers.

 

If you have American Platinum Pro or higher you can get free bags and lounge access as a OneWorld Emerald

 

That's with Qatar Air? I was given One World Emerald for this year, not even sure why, so that's a nice benefit and another reason to consider Qatar if the prices are close.

As I understand it though, the shuttles prices are all with no checked bags? I haven't looked that much yet because I don't know my dates for my flights during the tournament.

 

The lounge access will make up for no bags- great food and open bar

 

yeah the Middle East airlines have awesome lounges, absolutely blow away the shit food, set up and service in the US carriers' lounges, even the international ones.

My situation is that I'll probably come back to Doha for multiple days so will have my big bag with me. At least right now I don't plan to commute back and forth, just hang out in Dubai or elsewhere for a break or 2 in the middle of the tournament.

Can I leave the stadium at any time? I have a match at 4 pm (KOR x GAN) and another at 7 pm (BRA x SUI) and I only want to watch the first half of KOR x GAN to get to know the Education City stadium. Can I leave the stadium at half-time or do they only release the exit with a few minutes left for the match to end?

I've asked this before, but did anyone here book accommodation through FIFA MATCH Hospitality and get their Hayya cards approved? I am still waiting on the approval after several weeks, and whenever I call or email either MATCH or the Hayya folks, I just get told to keep waiting (or in the case of Hayya, to send in my materials again and again). It's concerning me at this point that something is wrong. Would help to know if anyone else has been through this.

Considering just booking the cheapest accommodations through the regular site to see if that triggers the Hayya card to go through, but not sure if it will work.
