How much are they paying MLS? It should be a big number to get a 10 year deal and off of broadcast tv.

I saw $250 million, short of the $300 million they wanted.

Hmm. That doesn't look like such a great deal then. It's almost triple what they're getting now but also locks them up well past the 2026 WC and probably reduces their potential audience.

Apparently some terrestrial tv right are still being negotiated, with fox and espn. This is just for cable. Streaming will be apple only. Also, those terrestrial games will be simulcasts of the apple games, not exclusives. So, probably just one national game a week for each is my guess, so terrestrial watchers can still discover the streaming service.

Schedule will include mainly saturday night games starting 2023 and a weekly whip-around show will act as a sort of Red Zone for NFL games.

    That should be awesome.

Can you watch Apple TV on an Android device? I have multiple Nvidia Shield devices all running Android.

No, it’s a separate streaming service carried on top of Apple TV+.

“Fans can get every live MLS match by subscribing to a new MLS streaming service, available exclusively through the Apple TV app.

A broad selection of MLS and Leagues Cup matches, including some of the biggest matchups, will also be available at no additional cost to Apple TV+ subscribers, with a limited number of matches available for free.

Season Ticket Holder Benefit: Access to the new MLS streaming service will be included as part of MLS full-season ticket packages.”

Analyzing the pudding to find the proof still needs to happen.

So all MLS Season ticket members will get Apple TV included as part of their membership?

*NM - Quarkspace just answered (assuming I understand correctly)

Not sure. I can't run Apple TV off my Android phone, but there seem to be quite a few non-Apple devices that can. Hopefully Apple comes out with an app fully compatible with Android devices soon. I have an Apple TV device that I bought to use with Spectrum TV instead of renting a cable box. I have a Roku device on the upstairs TV. Looks like Spectrum TV's days may be numbered in our house. The Crew on Bally's was one of the last reasons to keep the Cable TV.

I don’t have Apple TV (but have in the past on my Roku) so it’s another subscription but I think this is a good thing. Everything we have asked for.

I just added the relevant sentence to the quote I pulled from the MLS announcement.

Thought they only wanted a short term deal because of the 2026 world cup?

Is it 250 million a year or 250 million over 10 years?

As others have said... "Get fuct."

(Other than the possibility of national TV games, this sounds like this will be the case.)

This will be interesting if they can sync it correctly.
“MLS agreement with Apple is streaming/viewing deal. Local radio will still be available (for viewers to listen to "local broadcast" via drop-down menu)”
