It does seem like the Oklahoma position will likely open after this fall due to numerous factors . This poster has an agenda that somewhat clouds credibility and I agree with your some of the roster turnover is misinterpreted.

still- Oklahoma is red hot for 2022 season.

Alright even if you take out the 5th years with eligibility, btw which was never supposed to be an exaggeration, you still have an unreal number of players out, SEVERAL who left after one year or one semester with him and not one left from the prior coach. And honestly you can't just compare rosters to know who left and get accurate numbers. And duh....there were plenty of seniors who graduated this year all over the country with no eligibility remaining, so you're wrong there.
I'll say it again, everything that I have said happened, happened! It's insane, unbelievable, sad, disappointing but 100% true. I have zero reason to lie or exaggerate, and nothing to gain! It's incredible that OU has retained him knowing what they know and unthinkable that in this day and age they would let this continue and open themselves up to so much. Several OU parents (and USF parents back in the day) looked into getting attorneys but had little success because it didn't involve sexual abuse or misconduct. One poster on here said Joe C. doesn't fire coaches which makes some sense of this so maybe OU is a safe haven for abusive dirtbags. Get hired and you know you'll survive your contract at least no matter what. Or maybe OU lets things slide because of people like you. Carr has done all this and more!

Makes no difference to me either way. I just find it very difficult to believe any school in this day and age would put their own reputations on the line if half of what you say is true. That’s all I’m saying. It just wouldn’t happen.

With regards to seniors, every single senior in the country has an extra year of eligibility due to COVID. Whether they chose to use it or not is a different story. If they were in college when COVID hit (that includes juniors to be this fall) they get an additional year. All of them. Every single one of them. Do you not understand that? COVID years were not just granted for seniors at the time of COVID. They were granted to all college players, regardless of whether their schools played or not. There will be two more years of it which is why recruiting is so messed up right now. But that’s for another day.

Certainly OU will be on the hot seat this fall for many reasons.

I’m hearing that Ciara leaving Seton Hall wasn’t entirely her own decision and that something happened that resulted in her being asked to step away. Trying to find out details as to what occurred.

Or maybe she is headed to BU with Casey Brown?

So with all the talk I have gotten on the OU curiosity wagon- saw today another transfer posted - this one is a Canadian player that is on the Canadian U 20 NT playing in the World Cup this summer. That one must have hurt

This is interesting- Carr has supposedly agreed a 3 year contract extension with higher incentives. Press release in the first couple of weeks in July. The administration clearly see a positive future with this coach.

Funny since his contract isn’t up til 12/2023. You’re telling me they’re giving him an extension and raise in the middle of his contract? Carr must’ve started those rumors.

yup and she transferred to Pitt. The last OU player to leave and go to Pitt (Davidson) worked out pretty well for Pitt so excited for this one to join as well

it is late June and Carr is still in a job so it appears he will be coaching at OU this fall. If they manage to turn things around and have a good season they could end up having him beyond the 2023 season.[/QUOTE]

correct new contract runs through 2026. The Oklahoma program has been a shambles and the athletes haven’t been up to his standard so will be great for Carr to see this through when he assembles the roster he wants.

thank you! Oklahoma soccer staying with Carr through 2026 will allow him to cement his style and culture while getting past the deadwood he inherited and had to endure the first couple of years to finally get good kids into the program.

Some pieces of that "deadwood" were his best players the last two years. But it's all on him now - none of Matt Potter's players remain.

A contract extension this early would also be very uncharacteristic business from OU. After year three, maybe.

Remember when you said this bout Carr?
"Sure. But his last year at USF he won more games than the new Penn coach did her last year at Holy across. Both of them falling under lucky stars for differing reasons. Both bad hires."
How could anything that he's done at OU change your opinion? And we all know he's losing even his own recruits/deadwood. And he had a 6-14 record his last(5th) year at USF after losing the deadwood there.

He just inherited some really crappy soccer players and even worse human beings. The administration clearly sees that and are supporting him. From what i am hearing the environment he is creating now is next level for too soccer players that can help the program.

Your argument that OU soccer is just overwhelmed with "really crappy" college kids playing soccer doesn't hold much water. A few bad apples maybe but come on. That's an excuse made by someone trying to defend some awful behavior and/or poor team management. The UNC kid went there, did well, but immediately left. The message to good players should be clear in the short term: stay away.

And if you doubted everything that I said earlier, what this Carr supporter just said here might change your mind a bit because his words sound like they’re coming straight from Carr’s mouth. This should give you some idea of what the culture is like at OU.
Also just found this doozy posted by Cantcoach,
“So if all the athletics teams take a nosedive it’s ok because they aren’t more diverse in their staffing?? Don’t hire someone just because of gender/ethnicity. Hire because they are the right fit regardless.

Maybe UNLV was underrepresented for a number of reasons. But don’t hire people just because they are not white. That’s embarrassing.”

The racist undertones sound vaguely familiar to Carr and Goughy.
And I’m still curious Cantcoach, what changed your mind about Carr????? Poor hire to next level? Please explain!

Carr is touted by other college coaches as one of the best educators in the nation. Just ask the coaches at Arizona, ucla, and USC who this weekend have all been commentating at nationals about how they are looking to follow his model. Those that don’t like Carr on here are basically disgruntled former players and parents who simply were not good enough to play for Oklahoma.

I am out at the fields and have never heard one coach say they are impressed with Carr or that he is any good lol. He has never had a winning season as a college coach not one..that is hard to do...

He is getting a well deserved contract extension and it will be exciting seeing Oklahoma playing some of the best soccer in the womens game now that he got rid of the dead wood in the program.

I don’t think anyone on this forum is buying what you are trying to sell. Word on the street is that college coaches think Carr is a joke I guess we’ll see how he does now that all those bad humans and deadwood are off his roster lol.

So, the U20 Canadian NT player is a crappy soccer player and a bad human? A player from UNC that had significant minutes there and now left after 1 season to NC state is also a bad human and crappy player? Other recruits that came from championship ECNL teams and left as soon as they could? You are hilarious- first the players just weren’t very good soccer players but now they are bad humans? Who says that about a player? I was weighing all the comments here and not sure which was the truth but after listening to your over the top posts have definitely moved over to believing the negative info. If it is true that over 30 players left in just a year or so I don’t see how it is possible that they are all lousy players and bad humans also.
