He should come to Orlando City. Would probably pick up that Jersey and give me a reason to actually follow this shit league lol
Plus there is a large Brazilian population there. I think Kaka actually lives there now too. I think Marcelo would like it and I'd be able to fly down for games because I'd totally be down to see him in action still.
What is this nonsense, all of you trying to get Marcelo to come to your local MLS team. I have a Marcelo jersey from his first year in Madrid, I get dibs.
Still Roberto Carlos is more legend and player. More then Dani Alves and Cafu. The best Back Wing ever with Maldini
The top teams aren't bad but as soon they get a couple of injuries.... the quality drops off a cliff because they have no depth. The major benefit of the league is that they are producing more local talent finally through their academies. I suspect the league actually will end up being pretty decent eventually, I just may not be alive by then. Some teams have also finally caught on to buying younger South American talent, which I never understood why that wasn't the game plan from the start.
Like 4x4s said. He’s had the perfect career with the perfect send off. I can’t remember a club legend in the last 20 years who did both (amazing career and walked out through the front door). If anyone deserved it, it’s him. Wonderful human and family man. He’ll be back home soon.
There are a ton of Brazilians here, both that live and visit as tourists. Yea, Pato is currently on the team last time I checked.
https://www.realmadrid.com/en/real-madrid-tv Farewell ceremony. the English channel won't load, but the Spanish one does.
Perez, Ancelotti, Asensio, Carvajal, Raul, Butragueño showed up for the ceremony. Marcelo clearly very emotional. He's paying tribute to others, including his family. He has nothing but love. He says he is nothing but content. What an exemplary person and player. To me, one of the most amicable Madrid players ever. At his peak, the best attacking Leftback on the planet.
Legend and icon get thrown around way to often in football but Marcelo is truly that. An icon at the club and absolutely eats at the same table as Di Stefano, Puskas etc.
I started supporting Real Madrid when RC3 joined us in 1996. Now his successor is leaving as most decorated player in history of Real Madrid. For us, old guys (well, for me at least), this really feels like end of an era. I will really miss his optimism, madridismo and high spirits. Thanks for everything.
I played in the first 4. In this one I didn't play, but I felt most important in this one. I spoke to Rodrygo on the bench who looked at me scared, and I told him this is what this is. I spoke to Militao and Valverde before the game. These are things I didn't do in the first 4 champions leagues." Thank you Captain!
Marcelo also shared a story about how Raúl helped his family when they had their first baby. So it seems Raúl has no problem with Brazilians after all, just those who arrived for training smelling of alcohol. That's quite OK in my book. He made Raúl cry with that story. Legends.
The greatest left back in history. His skills were Ronaldinho level at times . He scored in the CL final in 2014,gave assists in 2017 and 2018 and scored his penalty in 2016. This CL yes he didnt play but he contrubited to the title playing against Chelsea when we were 0-3 down and he come on and he gave the pass to Modric for his assist to Rodrygo. FN Legend
The camaraderie and the unity in the locker room has been very apparent, a very positive and encouraging atmosphere. It’s probably no coincidence that it happens in the one year that Marcelo is the 1st captain. He showed his own form of leadership this season and was exemplary to the young group we have forming.
He said he spoke with Rodrygo for 5 minutes before the UCL final as he saw Rodry was looking shocked/in awe due to the whole situation. He said he felt more important in this final than others. I can only imagine how adored the guy is by the youngsters.
