It’s a very good location, close to the metro and it’s a very busy area with plenty of everything around
Yeah common sense that Canada's great leader Justin can't quite wrap his head around. Iranian soccer pros not allowed in, and Canadian soccer fans not allowed out! Thank FIFA that the World Cup is still 5 months away. The first thing I do in Doha will be to find a table full of Iranian fans and snap a selfie to post to Trudeau's twitter account I was so bummed that that friendly got canceled. Curacao is hardly good preparatory material...
It’s all about power and stretching this mess as long as they can to print more money and keep their power over people. This is a global problem that won’t stop until we decide it stops. Let’s go on with our lives and when you get a chance to punish them with a vote; do it. I have a feeling Qatar will follow soon basically opening everything up right before the World Cup.
That area marked is right in the back yard of souq waqif. It’s very good area. But are you sure there is an apartment there ? It’s a full on commercial area. Maybe some apartment or a cheap hotel in the back side of bus station. If the unit looks nice take it . Area is super good.
Yeah it's one of those 2-star hotels they put up yesterday, but the unit looks nice enough, TV, good bed. For almost the same price as those clusters that are 20km to the south and have no TV. So for me is far better, so I cancelled the cluster and booked that hotel instead which is located right next to Souq Waqif metro station
do not get me started on this guy LOL but yea the mandates are causing huge delays at airports, i just hope its dropped before the WC
Has it been announced anywhere if drums will be allowed into the stadiums? I know it's a big part of North American soccer culture (among others), but personally find them grating and irritating, especially when it goes on for 90 minutes. I much prefer the chanting/singing in Europe, much more interactive, fun, and pleasant. I'm sitting with USMNT supporter group for a game and wondering what noisemakers might be there.
Highly doubt it - it’s FIFA after all. Things like flares, smoke bombs, etc also a big no no. I’m worried in even trying to bring a flag in.
Stadium specific instructions haven’t been announced yet. But drums and instruments are usually allowed. Up to a certain size. I remember the English supporters had trumpets and other instruments in Russia.
Let's not get political here but what your leader does is terrible for a great country like Canada. You guys should step up for your life and get somebody like Jordan Peterson on top of the nation!
I booked the La Villa for me for three nights from 30 November. Cheap and cheerful. It isn't far from the DoubleTree Hilton where my group and I are staying for R16 and QF. Three nights without beer won't hurt me.
The clusters are about $ 80 USD/night. That hotel is about $140 USD/night. That hotel is nearly double the price of the clusters. Did you read the reviews? Pretty bad. I am going with the clusters. They just seem better in every way except location. And there will be shuttle buses to solve that issue. But, in my case, I don't plan on staying in my room and watching an undersized TV. The room is just for taking a shower and sleeping for me. This is the World Cup. In Russia, I just remember waking up, taking a shower, going out, coming back to the room to grab a jacket and my ticket, and going to a game. Coming back to the room, taking a shower, and sleeping. So, other than the bathroom and the bed, the room was just for storage for me. But everyone has their own plan, I suppose.
Speaking of covid, based on what I see on offical Qatari website now... if you're not vaccinated you still don't need to quarantine and can enter the country as long as you are a "Recovered Patient"?? See attached photo & description below. Immune-Recovered: Anyone who had a medically confirmed COVID-19 infection acquired either locally or overseas is considered to have immune status valid for twelve (12) months from the date of the infection. There should be an official and verifiable laboratory test result as evidence of the past infection.
Since u seem to know a lot about location .what u think of 4187 al Mansoura apartment? I was waiting for hotel but after they were released not a single room was there to allow family of 4. I even emailed them asking if those twin rooms in thr 300 dollars hotel can hhave 4 (2kids)...no reply...so I booked this al Mansour apt at. We don't need two bedroom just need one room with two double beds but the accomodation limitations is forcing me. It's a lot of money per night for frankly an apt waay too big for us but I kinda felt forced/rushed so it would suck if location is bad also.
I am curious to find out how much ppl are spending for this trip. Maybe we can have a poll thread a few months later... I have exceeding my total for Russia already just on flight and accomodation alone. I am blaming it on inflation instead of my irresponsible spending.
Is it worth cancelling my apartment booking and hoping more cheap hotels are released? if I wait for the hotels to be released before I cancel, im worried that the 6 hour wait to reuse the ticket number will mean I miss out on the hotel rooms.
I'm at $5500 CAD per person so far. Planning to get tix to a couple more games plus excursions in Dubai. And food as well
Completely in agreement. I booked one of those hotels for the first few days but only because the clusters weren't available for the entire length of my stay. My only concern with your plan is if there will be enough to do in Qatar to keep us occupied morning through evening.
Will you get a full refund by doing this , it seems tied to you rebooking but we don't know how long you can wait before rebooking IE 2,3,4 weeks
