I agree with this. Flights on my routes are more expensive now than they were 2 months ago. On the inbound trip, they are nearly double right now compared to 2 months ago. Some of the regional flights I bought for side trips are a little cheaper now, but the flight departure and arrival times are not as good. So, I for one am glad that I bought earlier. As for the clusters, they are nearly half the price of these newly listed hotels. The clusters seem better in every way except location. I think that the shuttle buses will largely solve that problem.
@Lucas Dias Same here. I booked different dates (same place) and confirmed that a full refund would get processed within 14 working days. I did on 31 of May, so still waiting for the refund
I have to admit I haven't taken much notice of clusters. But I formed the impression that clusters like Barwa Barahat Al Janoub Cluster I, were actually recently built, rather than newly built as described. And are refurbished accommodation blocks formerly used by construction workers??
Yeah... their reviews are disgusting. But for 3x their current values, hopefully (as part of the contract) they will be forced to make things better, refurnish the rooms, etc. Qatar has money and the power to enforce whatever they want, and they want to impress... so hopefully they will make things to look a bit better for the WC. I dont really beleive, but just trying to be a bit positive And I agree with someone here, who said: we will always find something to complain
Barwa Barahat Al Janoub,Even though i cannot 100% say its brand new. looks brand new, construction is still on going on some clusters. i went for a drive to check out the place, that entire area is new, there is a provision for some eateries and a big supermarket there as well. But nothing is active there, but during world cup i believe it will come alive. And most of those hotels listed are bad. Doha has some amazing hotel, but these are not them.May be only good one is the Retaj, it is still one of those i dont give a second look when booking stay cation.
Minha dúvida é se preciso aguardar a validação do meu pedido de número de bilhete novamente ou se posso usar outro.
Nao precisa fazer nada de diferente. So logar na tua conta, selecionar as datas e acomodacao, e pagar... O ticket que ja foi validado pode ser usado novamente. Dont need to do anything different. Just to log in to your account, select the new dates and accomodation, and pay. The ticket number already validated can be used again
Well I could stay at home or in a hotel and claim I attended 4 matches a day at the 2022 World Cup. Not sure why it would be logical to brag about an accomplishment one didn't achieve? Anyway, I am not suggesting people don't go to as many matches as their heart desires and wallets can afford, I'm only helping to temper expectations of seeing full matches based on everything we know today. After all, this is a discussion forum about the logistics of attending this year's World Cup, not a forum about missing this year's World Cup.
Thanks for the local information. Maybe I was getting confused with these: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...1bcd4ffb7!8m2!3d25.0987982!4d51.5664554?hl=en
https://www.qatar2022.qa/en/news/how-to-host-family-and-friends-during-the-fifa-world-cup. Is this newer updated info
Ohhh these are the ones, but i think these will be future workers accommodation and not yet. Knowing Qatar, they would not be giving fans used/refurbished labor accommodation. Even though i went for a night drive, from what i could see it pretty much looks like some building are ready while others are under construction, with finishing touches.
I emailed "Enquiries@book.qatar2022.qa" yesterday, 6/8, and I received a response this morning. I was asking them if I could get a refund on an existing accommodation reservation if I booked a new one and this was their response: "Yes, please note that you will first need to cancel your current reservation and book a new property. Once done, please inform us and we will initiate the full refund procedure. It might take up to 14 working days for the funds to show on your account. Please also note that you might need to wait some time (up to 6 hours) before booking the new property, as the Ticket Application Number needs to be cleared."
interestingly FIFA did release ALL 1 and 2 star hotels yesterday on their site. From what I have seen, they haven't added hotels to their site but I could be wrong. There are a lot of hotels in Qatar that are not showing up at all on FIFA's website.
Thanks for all the feedback on the admittedly ridiculous plan of seeing 4 matches in a day on the 28th. I’ve been to the World Cup in Brazil and Russia, so I’m not blind to the challenges, and all the points raised are good ones. Just thinking that if you had a plan in place in advance, were standing in the section exit with a view of the pitch as the final whistle is blown and then sprinted out of the stadium to be ahead of the full crowd into the metro queues, is the transit time possible if you knew exactly what you were doing? Definitely not worth contemplating if you have to miss a chunk of game time, but I’m not totally convinced some of it can’t be made to work. The most attractive match of the first three on paper is probably Brazil/Switzerland, so assuming the biggest crowds there, and the need to budget more time to get into the 80,000 Lusail stadium for the marquee Portugal/Uruguay, I think scaling back the ambition and aiming for the 1pm, 4pm, and 10pm kickoffs could work. Then it’s just one hectic transfer instead of three. Cameroon/Serbia at 1pm on a Monday might not even sell out, so making it from the highway to Education City if properly organized could be just about doable. Then lots of time to get to Lusail. Anyway, all fun speculation/daydreaming at this point. How many days left again?
I got my Hayya card approved today (pending accommodations). Applied for it on June 5th, approved June 9th. Now I only need a decent place to stay for under $150
Honestly, you are 100% right. If you know what you are doing, you know where is the nearest exit, you know where your private driver is waiting, you know where can you get out of the car as close as possible from the stadium, it should not be that much of an issue. Yeah, you might have to run out like 800 meters out of the stadium and also run back 800 meters to the stadium, but you sat 90 minutes before and after and 30-40 minutes in the taxi/metro as well. I like to combine being and athlete and a fan - obviously, if you are going to get drunk this approach is not for you.
Based on Rusia 2018 or Common sense, if I apply ticket using my friend name and then he didnt go to qatar and didnt apply for hayya card. Can I use his ticket ? basically is a “valid ticket” still valid if it wasnt used to apply hayya ? Than you
I'm seriously considering renting a car for the first few days in Doha. How's the driving situation in Qatar? Is it similar to Cairo or is it like driving in any other place that respects traffic laws? Also, how's the parking situation at malls and tourist destinations? thanks
Yes, a valid ticket is valid. Hayya is a government document not linked directly to a FIFA ticket. However you do need a FIFA ticket and accommodations to be issued Hayya.
I cancelled 5 hours ago, and it's still not allowing me to book a new property...starting to get nervous now, let's see what happens. According to this message it should allow me to book the new property sometime in the next hour, after that, 6 hours would have passed.
That’s interesting, but just want to double-check: you can get a full refund even if you cancel accommodation A (e.g.: fan village) and book accommodation B (e.g.: 4 star hotel)? Asking this because the current FAQ says that we would only get a 80% refund if the canceled accommodation gets booked again by another fan after FIFA puts it back on the website.
Don't sweat it, you'll be able to. Had the same issue and it was resolved and they processed my full refund after reaching back out to them.
I would say that all the connection times are feasible without crowd-related delays for the 6-10 combos in group play. For the 1-4, 4-7, 7-10 combos, theoretically possible for stadiums whose name don't start with "Al." But of course there will be large crowds and crowd control measures. I think once the long queues are well known after the matches, many fans will choose to leave 10 min early unless the game is tight. Remember, many will book the combos possibly without the good feedback of this forum. Therefore, the bottleneck might not begin after the match but rather before the match ends, pushing your mad dash earlier and earlier. So I stand by my opinion that all 1 hr connections and many 2 hr connections will not work - especially not for stadiums with the "Al" in their names. I refer to those stadium combos as Always Late. As others have questioned here, I don't want to be mad dashing about a city whose culture doesn't accommodate it - it will just be an exercise in futility. @vibrantcolours has suggested that a private vehicle and pick up driver for certain combos might work - but he admits its pure speculation as we do not know what sort of traffic control restrictions will be implemented. I made a list of the best bets a few days ago and @vibrantcolours and others made some useful additions. Anything outside of those listed is truly wishful thinking...
