How FIFA would know that the accounts belong to the same person? Because only the name and DOB can't be changed, all the rest (address, phone, passport, email) can be different/updated

This would mean that 2 ppl with the same name and DOB could not attend the WC.

Of course they have the rights to ask for ID, but when was the last match, in any FIFA event, that an ID was asked to 50-80k people before scanning their tickets? In Russia we all had a Fan ID around our necks, and they never touched it.

I applied 50+ different accounts for BRA x SRV CAT3 (2 tickets each), and didn't get a single one.

Other 15 accounts for the same match, CAT2 willing to accept any category, and nearly all of them were successful for CAT1.

I don't think we will see many CAT 2 or 3 for the more "glamorous" matches/teams :(

This time around TST7 were very easy, I got in after 42mins and had my choice for Mexico TST3 or TST7, went for the TST3 only cat 2 available. Most teams were still available, after 4 hours in the portal several dozen teams still could be bought.

For Russia I got TST7 in the first lottery, so no need after. Southafrica only went for TST3, but for Brazil I had to buy everything separate, so this time around was fairly easy, but not staying all month.

Well yes you're correct. But it's not FIFA i'm worried about per se, it's the legal system in Qatar...

Yeah @djknox , you may be right, and it is definitely less risky when following the FIFA policies and rules, and taking some precautions.

I just tend to don't overthink and worry about legal liabilities or the Qatari system, in this case. I live dangerously :D

And we were all waiting for the bombs in Russia, the guns all over Brazil, the crime in South Africa, etc. I think we will be OK in Qatar

I think we've seen enough already to conclude that the technical systems are A) Not run from a Qatari operation. Rather by the same group that manage the UEFA ticketing. B) The checks in place are no more stringent than they have been in the past. All of which means... If you have a valid ticket on your mobile, you're getting in. Regardless of names, addresses, passports or anything else.

So far, with this WC the *only* (though not minor by any means) new/complicating matter with ticketing is the use of e-tickets.

The last thing the Qataris want is "some yahoo" showing up on CNN being thrown in jail for some Sharia offense that wouldn't even cause a sideways glance in Europe/the Americas. I'm not advocating flouting of any laws... just pointing out that I think the Qataris will probably be more lenient than they would any other time.

When will there ever come a chance to see four tournament games live on the same day? Looking at Monday, November 28th logistics...

1PM kickoff at Al Janoub for Cameroon/Serbia. Given walking distance from the metro station and need to change lines, looks like some form of taxi is easily the best bet here. At about 30km on the Doha Expressway and Al Rayyan Road, seems like a pretty direct route to Education City. Assuming 20 minutes to exit the stadium/find the car, then 20 minutes to enter the stadium from the dropoff, would leave 30 minutes for the drive. Possible?

4PM kickoff at Education City for Korea/Ghana. It’s a 10 minute walk to Education City metro station, then a 10 minute walk from Ras Bou Abboud station to 974. How long is the metro ride, factoring in waiting and the change from Green to Gold line? If 40 minutes or less, this also sees it could be doable, just

7PM kickoff at 974 for Brazil/Swiss. Another 10 minute walk back to Ras Bou Abboud metro, and a 10 minute walk to Lusail from Lusail metro station on the other end. Again, question is how long is the metro ride from 974 to Lusail, factoring in waiting and the change from the Gold to Red line?

10PM kickoff at Lusail for Portugal/Uruguay. What a game to cap a full day, seeing 8 of the 32 teams! Anyone else thinking of this type of quad itinerary on the 28th (or a different day) and have thoughts on those metro times?

At a minimum you're not factoring in the time to enter through security and walk to seats. Your seats may be on the opposite side of the stadium from where google maps says the stadium is for one. Arriving at 7pm for a 7pm game is fantasy... IMO to be feasible your "arrival" at a stadium needs to be 45-60 minutes before kickoff to work through crowds and entrance requirements.

    Thanks for the fan fiction.

Every story seems to have either a magical metro pass that allows one to walk into a station and into a train instantly or a magical car drop-off spot that gets them into the stadium in x minutes without road traffic, other fans or security lines.

The Main taxi services here is Uber, the local middle east one called careem, and the official one Karwa taxi. All Three have their own apps (well uber will be familiar to everyone). Then there is another category called Limousine, or some guys who operate taxi's without a license we call them illegal taxis.
There is going to be a uber/taxi pick up points in all stadiums, but for people who are doing back to back matches, the best bet is the last category, as they charge higher than the metered taxis, but are usually on time.

I'm curious to see if I'll be able to get the tickets I want in FCFS: Canada -Belgium (single ticket), Canada-Morocco (single ticket), and all of Portugal's games (pairs).

Seems some here think it shouldn't be a problem, and others say it'll be difficult.

    • Arrive at the waiting room an hour or two before it opens
    • Keep active on this forum for links to a waiting room, which may speed up your waiting time
    • Open the waiting room on as many browsers and/or devices as you can
    • Keep an eye out for the waiting time bar. Back in the first FCFS, my bar showed me about 8% for like 20 minutes and then a minute later it said I would be in the portal in 10 mins (which i did). There's a lot of luck involved so definitely pay attention, even if chances may seem bleak
    • Once you get in, try prioritizing tickets for the games that will be the most high-demand (if those are the games you are interested in going). For example, back in March when I got into the ticketing website, I purchased all the knockout games I wanted to go to first as they would be most sought after. Once the payment was done, I went back and bought tickets to a few group games. NOTE: This was in the first FCFS (before we found out about the groups and teams so things may be a bit different this time)
    • Don't linger around too much once you get in. Make sure you know exactly what you want (games, ticket categories etc.) and purchase them quickly. Since there is/will be heavy network traffic, there is always a chance that your browser will freeze/lag. Also, mind the time limit. If I remember correctly, you only get 15 minutes to do your shopping before being kicked back into the waiting room.
    • Last but not least, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Sometimes waiting to enter the portal can take hours, so be prepared to dig in for a while (not really a tip but it felt like a nice conclusion)

I got the two Belgium matches in my preferred Cat 1, even though I was happy to get a different category.
My hunch is you will get those.
Cant really advise on Portugal so don’t want to give you false hope/despair.

I requested six weeks leave for the South Africa world cup, my manager said if we can live without you for six weeks we can live without you forever, so I resigned to go to my first world cup, never regret it.

A question here regarding resale. The FIFA ticketing page says if the main applicant wants to resell a match ticket,
No, as the main ticket applicant, you are not entitled to transfer any tickets allocated to yourself. If you cannot attend a match, you may put all your tickets up for resale on the official FIFA Resale Platform, subject to the applicable conditions. The FIFA Resale Platform and the Resale Policy will be made available at FIFA.com/tickets in due course.
Does that mean, all the tickets you want to resell, or all the tickets that you have got?

Yes, it sounds like a hard day at work to me.

To be fair though, I'm not even planning to watch four games in a day on TV.

It’s a per match policy. Example; You sell the main ticket for match 5, all the guest tickets go along. Doesn’t affect your other matches

Well this looks like it’s no chance of me exchanging 3 tickets as we only have 3
