When you say miss it, do you mean miss anthems/kickoff or more likely to miss 20/30 min or even the whole first half? What's common in many Al Bayt videos on YouTube is it always seems like people have to walk a long way to the entrance, though not sure where they're coming from. Let alone it being so far away from the other venues excluding Lusail.

For example #19 NED ECU at Khalifa 19:00, and #20 ENG USA at Al Bayt 22:00, this would be a mess even with an organised driver, or taxi, instead of metro? Thinking about the Friday night traffic too (google says a 38 minute drive without traffic once you've found a car). Probably too hard to attempt this even if it's to watch 70 minutes? Think it is one to miss. Especially with no desire to leave early from #19.

Well Al Bayt stadium is in Al Khor town, that is like 60 km from Doha. So it is the furthest stadium there is. If you have 19 and 20. Go for one, because you will be missing most of game 20. It will take a 45 min by car in the best of conditions from Khalifa Stadium to Al Bayt on a non game day. Now do the maths, there is game in Khalifa and Al Bayt, you will be lucky to even get 45 min of the second game.

Thanks and very much helps! i was thinking that the best option (like you said) would be the 41 - 43 as well and that can be very much doable. Would we have to leave early as well for this one?

Cheers I really appreciate the hard truth line on this. It was the only one of the consecutive matches in my plans in doubt as the rest are much more straightforward navigable journeys.

Sorry this one is really not doable, In my previous post I was talking about Al bayt being difficult with a two hour gap between matches. In your case it’s just one hour, so you will have to pick one match.

5 min early you will beat the rush and it will become more easy. As no one can really predict now how the metro rush will play out during World Cup. Also this game is 41 so we will have an idea once the World Cup start.

DOES ANYONE HAVE 2 TICKETS FOR THE WC FINAL IN CATEGORY 1 OR 2?

My application was unsuccessful and I really wanted to surprise my brother because his birthday is around the world cup.

Yes of course for the R16 and QF matches. My opinion is that there is increasing parity in international soccer and so that 30% is growing. I wouldn't be surprised if it is 40 or 50% in 2022. But the bigger problem is matches are rarely decided in the extra 30 min of play, and so that means a shoot out and a full 60 min of extra play. If one is already expected to be 15 to 30min late with a 2 hr margin, with a 1 hr margin you could be arriving well into the 2nd half for 30 to 50% of the matches. That's just not worth it to me at $300+ a seat.

Thanks for that. Yes 37-39, 45-47, 53-54 look tempting but as you say, they require private vehicle arrangements and that could be a little dodgy. Imagine the disappointment waiting for a car that never turns up because he's too comfortable watching the matches with his buddies or he had a fight with the wife. If you're local, your arrangements will be more reliable I suspect. In that regard, I'll leave 52-51 for the fearless only! I might give 42-43 a go, but again, it's very dependent on factors out of one's control.

I see that you are going to try for the trefectas 8-7-5 and 25-26-27. Do you think you can officially see 100% of both 7 & 5 and set a new world record for World Cup matches in a day? You better pray that the MEX-POL game goes off like a charm! the latter trifecta would seem a lot less likely to 100% complete.

I tend to agree. Stand firm. Although 3 weeks is often frowned upon in the US & Canada, it really isn't all that unreasonable a request.

Yeah I really want to see 27-28 but for sure the first half will be missed. I'm bailing on most of this evening combos, it just isn't worth it. The pace of life in the Arab culture is relaxed and certainly not hurried. I just don't think things will be set up for mass dashes across the city, and people won't be actively working to help that happen. In some countries, hopping a barrier to save 5 minutes of walking might be tolerated, but I suspect at Qatar 2022 it will not... Locals feel free to correct me as I don't know Doha as well as some other cities...

Yeah, I got my 3-week vacation approved pretty easily. It's somewhat of a slower season for my department and we're gonna put together a coverage plan for my time off as we get closer.

Why is there a massive desire for some to go to games back to back?

I couldn’t think of anything worse than not enjoying a classic World Cup game and sitting there wishing it would end in 90 mins and not just soak it all in - just to get to another one…Where once again I’m probably not going to be able to enjoy as much or experience as a whole.

And a lot of the time, it will be to go to a stadium you’ve already been to, and both teams you’ve already seen in the same World Cup with how easy games are to go to.

The 2018 World Cup, China was one of the countries that contributed significantly to the ticket sales. Due to them still being in lockdown, I wonder if this could be the reason for more seats available on the next FCFS phase.

perhaps, but I think the big reason is scammers; (they didn't have to enter credit card information). They Loaded the system with applications. They received ticket allocations and are trying to resell the logins. They have no intention of taking possession of tickets. The allocations they wont sell will be forfeited and end up in FCFS. I suspect it'll be a massive drop of tickets.

    Let's talk about food.

Are there restaurants or fast food outlets that closes late or open 24/7? Just in case one get hungry or want to buy a drink at midnight after a 10pm match, especially when the journey back from Al Bayt is a long one.

I would assume kebabs would be the go to food for late night snacks? First time to the middle east so I don't know what to expect.

Well I am not hopeful. I feel a bit down because I was unsuccessful in that last phase and I know there are no guarantees for the FCFS

Well there are 8 stadiums and I like to see a stadium twice to get a full feel for it. And then there are 32 teams and although I have my own to cheer for this time around, I generally enjoy watching intriguing match ups. Most of us watch the World Cup on TV. So when you're actually at a World Cup, it seems logical to soak in as much live play as is comfortable.

Nothing appeals to me more than a 1 pm and and a 10 pm live match while watching one in between while enjoying a good dinner or some good bar crowds. However, for some stupid reason (likely TV revenue), FIFA decided to push half of the group play matches into 6pm and 10 pm slots only. That has spoiled my perfect day. I imagine many here feel the same way.

So i think some of us are just now coming to the realization that 6 and 10 is not ideal for a 2 match day. But FIFA has forced it upon us. Some will still do it, while others like me are having 2nd thoughts...

Do you know what websites these applications are being sold wholesale? I'd like to see what is on offer?

you are also asking for the most in demand ticket there is. lower your expectations and go for a different match. no one is just going to get you the Final.

They're all over Facebook ticket groups. I went along with one guy that wanted $500US. he had match 2, 6, 32, 48 and Lusail Semi. all Cat 1. Total of 10 tickets. The 500 only covered the sell of the logins (FIFA and gmail). I still had to pay for the tickets.

Have to give them credit for coming up with this stuff... if legit its actually not a terrible deal to avoid the grind of acquiring some tickets at 50$ markup.
