Yeah its not like we can sit around at street-side restaurants and watch Brazilian and Russia women stroll by while we enjoy a few cold pints. Boy I wish i had attend the 2014 and 18 World Cups! :-( The 4pm 10pm will be no issue - time for dinner in between. But 6-10 I think will only be feasible for certain stadium combinations. I listed the matches earlier but do so again here for those interested... From all that has been gleaned thus far, the only 6-10 combos I would try are matches 38-39, 38-40, 46-47, and 46-48. If one wants to roll the dice further, maybe matches 37-39, 41-43, 41-44, and 45-47. All the others look far too tight... Frankly, only the 38-39 and 46-47 6-10 combos probably have a good chance. Please keep in mind that Al Janoub, Al Thumama and Al Bayt all require metro + shuttle. Not good going in but deadly coming out. I call it the Al 6-10 combos: Always Late ;-)
I suspect many locals will try to drive between matches. I see that the stadiums are all constructed with parking, but knowing there will be so many buses being given priority right of way in and out of the stadiums, and plenty of ubers and taxis, there "could" be major congestion. I guess you, as a local, will have the luxury of testing the waters early and adapting (seeing you have 30 matches to attend!). But for most of us, those 6-10 combos aren't going to work they way we hoped. I'm opting out of most of them. BTW @vibrantcolours how much parking are you seeing being built around the stadiums? 100, 500, 1000 vehicles?
I heard about a similar case, where the guy didnt receive the draw email, but paid for the tickets and eveyrything was ok. But better double check, as each case can be different.
Also, anyone know to get an email back from gmail ? Somehow I can not log in the email as google says “we cant verify its you” this happen because my friend also login with that email in another country. that email won some great tickets. Should we pay through the portal and then change the email ? Or how is the best way to proceed ? Thanks so much
anyone still looking for flights who has points.... aircanada still has plenty of deals from europe to doha for 25k points... so if you have amex/chase/venture points this is the way to go. Or you can get 1 ways from Abu Dhabi to Doha for a comical 7.5k points.
I’ve seen a few posts about transferring tickets and apologies if this has already been answered but can someone explain how this is done? I have a friend who has a ticket that I’d like to use, it’s a close friend so no issues with trusting each other with logins etc. Do you know how I get his ticket to be in my name? Or can I use a ticket in someone else’s name?
So far, there is no way to officially move the main applicant (buyer) from one email address to another. So, if as you say there's no issues with trust, the easiest would be to just have your friend give you the password to the email account the tickets are tied to. Then, when FIFA send out the tickets to the ticket app, you would just log in with that email address and have the tickets on your mobile. As for any concerns about the name on the tickets not matching your own... I wouldn't sweat that. FIFA of course have the right to validate your ID with the name on the tickets. But in my 8 WCs and many many matches I've never once had to produce an ID.
Names on tickets have never been checked to any ID , they had their first chance to do this in Russia as we had the equivalent to a hayya card ..so just log in to that account and use the ticket
burnout won’t be an issue due to the size of the tournament. I went to Brazil and Russia and the tiring part part was the logistics. Brazil is the size of Western Europe and Russia is even bigger than that. I did 15 matches in South Africa, The only thing to watch is alcohol consumption jawing you, but, as the drinking will be either at the stadium or in hotels, that will be reduced anyway. In summary, I will beat my South Africa match tally and am looking to fill my boots in the FCFS.
Did we ever arrive at a conclusion as to whether a single mobile phone will be able to use tickets from different accounts? I recall someone might have said that one can log in and out of different accounts but I don't recall if that means tickets from difference accounts can be downloaded into the same device app?
I did a similar number in South Africa but it was over a month whereas for Qatar I will be there for 2 weeks. I think burnout is a real possibility if you have a lot more matches to attend than days...
im planning to do 16 games in 8 days... i wonder how burnt out i will be after all the 10pm games haha
Well at least you've got the early matches where transit times are more than 2 hours. I suspect 16 in 8 days you will have had enough..
yea all the 10pm games and commuting back to my accomodation with the crowd delay will probably do it haha XP gonna need to figure out how early i need to get there for the 1pm games
Just to complement your information, to include second-round matches: 38-40 and 46-48 also repeat in 55-56 and 58-57. It implies going from Education City to Lusail 37-39 and 45-47 also repeat in 53-54. It implies going from Al Janoub to 974 41-43 also repeat in 35-33 and 49-50 (but in the other direction). It implies going between Khalifa and Ahmad Bin Ali. The worst combination seems to be 42-44, which also repeats in 52-51 and 60-59. All imply going from Al Thumama to Al Bayt. Of course, second-round matches have the risk of extra-time and penalties in the earliest match.
To give additional details to those who, like me, are thinking into going to two matches in the same day during round of 16 and quarterfinals. Since 1986, there have been 36 days in the round of 16 in which there were two matches. Of those, the first match went to extra time in 27% of times. In quarterfinals, that percentage goes to 33%. In other words, the probability that, in days of two matches, the first match goes to extra time, is around 30%.
To compliment this 37-39, 45-47, 53-54 is the easiest to do if you have someone pick you up and drop you. As you are aware, the first game is Al Janoub which do not have direct connectivity to metro, pick up is the only option to do back to back games, once Picked up, it’s a nice freeway all the way to 974. 974 lies in the path of airport to doha, so I don’t expect them to block that freeway, so you could possibly be dropped off near the stadium ( I am guessing here). In short, this combination will need a pick up. Any combination with Al Bayt stadium in 2-hour time frame is just not doable. Take my word on this. I have 51-52 combination I really need to see how to do it, and can plan only after the games start. But I am sure I will miss minute for one game, and if m52 goes to extra time I will not even go to 51. So gamedays with Al Bayt as the second game, just enjoy the one game a day 41-43 is the best to do on that day, you might make it even with a public transport, since Khalifa stadium metro is so close, depending on the gate, you could have the least amount to walk from the metro to stadium (but this stadium is my least favorite due to running track in stadium).Due to the same reason 35-33, and 49-50 combination could be doable on public transport if you leave couple of min early on the first game Hope this helps.
If you’re in the US, it’s an employees market right now. It’s incredibly hard to find workers right now. Don’t sweat it; he has no choice
Yeah, the seller gets a better offer and pulls the ticket back. You don’t lose your money; but you’re stuck outside. The only way I would do this is walking in with the seller. I pay him right after the ticket machine let’s me in. It’s going to be an interesting World Cup without the ticket hustle outside the ticketing office
