Going to Qatar 2022: tickets, accommodations, etc. (non-politics)

To book accommodation someone needs a confirmed ticket. (We'll ignore the examples of people entering a random ticket application number.) That someone doesn't necessarily have to be you; e.g. you could be listed as a guest in someone else's room booking, But the ticket has to be real (and from the sounds of it, paid for.)

 

Example: I have 5 applications with tickets. I can chose to give 1 ticket application number to a friend without assigning him a ticket. He can use that number to book accommodations, even tho he doesn’t have a match ticket yet. After his accommodations are booked he can process a Hayya card. The accommodation name and Hayya must match. They do check this part of the process.

 

I have 2 applications with tickets and 31 people applied for Hayya with them. But i could book only three apartments with those 2 applications.

First application with two tickets for one 4 bed apartment and second application with 12 tickets allowed me to book two 4 bed apartments.

 

Anyone else here booked 4236 Al Mansoura Apartments? Seems like a really strategic place to be for the World Cup.

 

What do you guys think about staying on Cruises? Pros and cons? I found cabin on MSC Europa few dollars more ( breakfast incl.) than that "cabin" in fan village.

I believe any ticket application number will serve as a group id. Pick 1 person’s ticket application number and share it.

 

Anyone knows if there's a limit on the number of reservations you can make under the same application number? It's a nightmare but I need to do multiple reservations in multiple different clusters for all the days I'm staying there if I want to get the cheapest option.

 

I believe you’re referring to accommodations. I believe it’s one room per ticket application number. And you’re not reserving rooms. You’ll be making non-refundable purchase. The only way you’ll get a refund is if you email them showing you have purchased accommodation in another FIFA approved location. The system was set up this way to prevent people doing what I think you want to do.

I'm trying to book the 84 USD option for Nov 18 - Dec 2. But there's no cluster that has availability of the 84 USD option for that whole range of dates. So cluster 1 has availability from Nov 18 to Nov 22, then cluster 2 has availability from Nov 22 to Nov 26, etc. So if I want the 84 USD option for all my days there, I'd need to do like 4 different reservations in different clusters. I don't mind moving around from one room to another once I'm there, but I don't know if I can do 4 reservations (for different dates) with the only ticket application number I have.

I think I've read people that booked a week in one place and then were waiting for the rest to see if any other option came up, but I'm not sure if that's allowed/explained anywhere.

 

lol, im doing the same thing. I'v only booked 1.5 weeks and i'm waiting for other option to show up. You should be able to book all your dates in the same transaction. You add the Nov 18 - Nov 22 block room to the cart and go back and add the next dates. Pay for both rooms in the same transaction. Then keep your eyes open for more clusters opening up. If dates become available email them to get your money back and book the full stay.

 

Ohh ok, I didn't know that you can add multiple things to the cart, and now I get what you said about refunds. Ugh, that's annoying, having to cancel and make a new booking.

EDIT: I just tried and you can only add to the cart rooms in the same property, which makes things even more complicated

 

I booked 3 different reservations so far between ships and apartments. All with the same application number but 3 different transactions. Waiting to make one more. Had no problem at all.

only thing is minimum requirement has to be met per reservation ie apt 3 days, ships/desert container 2 days during the group stage.

I still can't bring myself to spending 400 dollars a day for an apartment stay. I feel like anything that resembles a home should be free. lol. I don't know how ppl do basic airbnbs for vacations.

Just booked two RTs on the FlyDubai match day shuttles. The ideal return times of 3am for one matchday and 4am for the other were already "sold out" so had to choose an hour later for both dates. Bit of a coincidence eh?

Either way, $300/rt after fees and seat selection etc. Would be $50 to change to a different time.

The last time I saw tickets on sale at the stadiums was at the 2002 World Cup. I doubt that happens this time, especially for Brazil matches. Maybe it is possible for other matches that might not sell out, but probably not at the stadiums because you need a ticket to get close to the stadiums.

You might be able to buy tickets on the day of the match, but the FIFA ticket offices are usually in the city, not at the stadiums. It has been that way since after 2002, as far as I know.

I hear that one tent type accommodation is going to be on the southern part near the sea line beach by the dessert.If they implement their vision it will be good, but information is sparse. So will have to wait and see how it will be build eventually
