Donnarumma is keeping Italy in this game. Without him, we’d be up 4 or 5-0.

I was born in Argentina to Italian immigrants . . . but I feel embarrassed for Italy right now. They are either not trying or not that good

Otamendi with a bonehead play. We need to be a bit conservative now and close it out. We’ve got 15 minutes…

I’d be happy to see Lisandro come in since Ota has a yellow anyway. Thought he’d have come in already tbh.

I really hope that a golden opportunity does not fall to Gio in a World Cup game, particularly in a KO game.

Was anyone not nervous with the few quality chances we gave up early on when it was 0-0?

However our attacking play was amazing.

Very enjoyable win! Lo Celso missed a few sitters but he had a great first half and good B2B midfield play. Something Papu isn't great at.

Underrated performance by Guido today, looked slugish in the first half, but did much better in the second. Like him more than Parades. He is not a defensive midfielder and he has bad tempo. Doesnt know how to slow things down. Are there any good cdms out there?

I think everybody turned it up in the second half. I’d give the first half a 7.5-8 and the second, a 9-9.5. As I noted earlier, without the heroics of Donnarumma, this would’ve been a bigger shellacking than the 3-0 score line.

This was perhaps our best game in a long time. I think there are some issues, such as giving the ball away in the midfield and not closing down on players but we did that in the second half. Scaloni saw the issues in hand and outlet to the team.
