Saw this on Facebook today. I know it’s CISL, but they won the championship and it was a cool name and logo! I also like the colors. Maybe the new team will be called the DustDevils?
Were you invited and didn't attend and that's how you got this notice? Seems nobody here went. Too bad as the information would have been interesting.
A local guy posted it on Twitter. I was not invited, unfortunately. Major League Soccer held a couple of focus groups in Las Vegas today. They hinted that Vegas would be getting a team in the near future. pic.twitter.com/xm7UVz38Na— Las Vegas Locally 🌴 (@LasVegasLocally) May 26, 2022
If it wasn’t already evident before the opening of Allegiant Stadium, it sure is becoming clear: Las Vegas is a soccer town. https://t.co/oEUI1qR0Lr— Las Vegas RJ Sports (@RJ_Sports) June 3, 2022 Puff piece with literally no new information. On a Friday. Maybe building momentum for an announcement to come?
MLS expansion look, major matches cement Las Vegas as ‘soccer town’ https://www.reviewjournal.com/sport...ches-cement-las-vegas-as-soccer-town-2586944/
MLS Deputy Commissioner Mark Abbott tells Sportico the league is "focused on finalizing Las Vegas as our 30th club." Abbott also says MLS hasn't decided on whether it'll expand beyond 30.https://t.co/twn2w4fL28 #sportsbiz— Mark J. Burns (@markjburns88) July 27, 2022
https://twitter.com/i/status/1588310231783600128 MLS Commissioner Don Garber discusses league expansion, San Diego, and Las Vegas:
Prohibitive construction costs are holding up the Vegas project, per Mark Ziegler of the San Diego union tribune. Mark Zeigler to @jonschaeffer and @JimRussellSD on the possibility of MLS expansion to San Diego: "I really think this is going to happen this time."https://t.co/Myzz18b2Pu— Jon & Jim (@JonAndJim) October 28, 2022
Construction costs are disgusting right now nationwide. It literally does not make sense to construct homes now with material prices. Can only imagine a stadium how much they’d be in red now
Could an MLS team and a USL team survive simultaneously in Las Vegas? I wouldn't think they could. So would Lights become available? That's not a bad name.
Construction of Brightline bullet train from SoCal to Vegas set to begin https://t.co/rkTzaI9p5b via @SFGate— Harvey Castellano (@HarveyCast) March 3, 2023 My understanding from about a year ago, is that this speed rail project needed green lighting before Las Vegas MLS could become a reality. The rail station in Vegas was intended to be part of a joint project with the soccer stadium for the Edens/Sawiris bid. Looks like now the speed rail is off the ground. Watch this space.
That makes sense. Wes Edens is a co-founder and principal in Fortress Investment Group. Fortress-backed Brightline Rail is behind the Los Angeles-to-Las Vegas high-speed train project. Said project’s terminus would be a brand new rail terminal built on the same 110-acre parcel of land just south of the Vegas Strip that Edens has mentioned would play home to a soccer-specific stadium for the MLS expansion club that he and Nassef Sawiris wish to acquire.
