Going to Qatar 2022: tickets, accommodations, etc. (non-politics)

I'm legitimately not sure how to feel about getting 3/12 applications successful.

Success:
Croatia vs Canada
Denmark vs Intercontinental winner
Holland vs Equador

Failure:
Canada vs Belgium
Portugal vs Ghana
Argentina vs Mexico
Portugal vs Uruguay
Canada vs Morocco
South Korea vs Portugal
1E vs 2F
1D vs 2C
1H vs 2G

I think getting three pairs is actually..pretty decent?

FCFS it is to grab the matches I want. For those who have gone through the FCFS process before, is it pretty straight forward to grab what you want, or are the tickets so scarce that you'll be refreshing your browser every few seconds for hours and jumping on tickets that could be gone in seconds? I just want to mentally prepare myself for what to expect.

Also, if you pay for the tickets can you still edit the main individuals passport info ( say if it requires to be renewed?) and the guest information afterwards?

Ok.. so that's the end of checking my 100 "fake" applications, and some insteresting findinds for the future world cups.

The email addresses follow an alphabetical order (email01@, email02@, etc) and until the account #59, not a single ticket

First ticket came on #60, BRAxSRV (the main match I want) CAT2

But then, after account #70, nearly all of them got CAT1 tickets.

I cant really remember, but I think that for the first accounts I was applying for CAT3 only, or CAT3 + accepting other cats, for BRAxSRV and 1 or 2 other matches (ENG or MEX or ARG or GER).

And I am nearly sure that from account #75 I only applied for BRAxSRV CAT2 + accepting other cats, and I basically got all of them for CAT1.

Of course I am not using all the accounts (and sorry if I took your ticket), so if anyone insteresting on the BRAxSRV match, and find a way to trasnfer the account, you can DM me

 

Any one had an issue with "Invalid postcode"? I want to pay for my tickets but it wont recognize my Bermuda post code.

Or does anyone know how to change the country on your profile?

 

So how does the FCFS really work. Lets say I add a match ticket to my cart, Will I then be able to browse around for more tickets for 20 min, before actually buying the ticket I previously added to my cart? Or Can somebody Else snatch it from me?

 

No, the 16th is basically impossible. The window for purchasing allocated tickets ends 11:00 CET on the 15th. The 16th would be just mere hours after the window ends, which is simply too soon. It'll be on the 17th or after, but NOT the 16th, or the 15th or the 14th, I am almost 100% sure.

 

You’ll have some amount of time where it’s reserved for you in your cart. Though I’ve been burned so many times in the past by the site failing at various points that I usually complete the purchase and then move on to get other matches. Especially if I’ve got a rare ticket like the final in my cart.

 

If you put tickets in the cart. Immediately pay for them. Then you can continue to buy more tickets. I wouldn't leave them in the cart too long. The system wont kick you out after paying for tickets.

 

Does anyone understand why my 4-stadium match tagged as Fan ? As far As I remember there was no fan separate application for 4-stadium match. Thanks so much

just an update; from several account, got my Argentina tix through 4-stadium package. No single match application successfull even if less popular match. Still chekcing.

 

My personal account unsuccessful. Unsuccessful for 2 tickets for 2 of the quarter finals. And unsuccessful for 2 for the final. All cat2.

My aunt partially successful.
Success for 2 in cat 2 for QF1 and for QF3,
and 1 cat2 for SF1.

Unsuccessful. Unsuccessful for 2 QF's both cat 2, both semis both cat3 and the final cat3.

Waiting to hear another friend. He and his wife put in an application each for games from QFs onwards.

Sorry I know it has been asked, but what is the latest on accommodation? Are we expecting more (better) options to come? Was there some press about more cruises coming or did I imagine that? Thanks as always.

 

Yes, there was a drop of additional accommodation yesterday. Also, the rumor is a few more cruise ships will be arriving and hotels at some point. As far as "better", that's subjective.

 

Seems like the success rate this round has been really low - at least for individual tickets. What are your initial thoughts?

Round-trip only (can't buy a one-way). Qatar currently forces you to return same-day or next day on their Oman flights. flydubai allows a lengthy stay. Still carry-on bag only. I can't find the flights in GDS yet - airline website only?

flydubai mentions 7kg weight max. for carry-on. Is that strictly enforced on current flights like I see in the South Pacific, or is it rarely/never checked?

 

Got nothing on my 20+ general ticket applications, but was successful with my French Support tickets. Eight (2 x 4 each) conditional Quarter Final tickets. Cat 3.

I really needed Round of 16 tickets though. I have plenty of QF tickets. Nice problem to have though.

Majority of flights, accommodation and tickets sorted for my group. Qatar here we come.

I got in very early on our hotel booking. It feels like a sh*tshow if you are looking for somewhere to stay now. Good luck to all.

 

Did you pick a favorite team? FAN appears when you have a match to your picked team.

 

So last FCFS I didn't get in until about 8 hours in the queue. Had no Cat 3 left but could purchase anything in cat 2 in group stage and whatnot. if you are going for cat 1 and cat 3 is available, you can take your time and what not.

 

i wouldn't use these flights to get over cheap from these countries and not return. I would not be surprised that buried somewhere in the T&C is a statement that if you don't get on your return flight that they will charge you the going rate for the a normal flight.... like $1000 or something stupid.

also it will not be on other websites. Qatar is using a coupon code. I assume you will have to book with the airlines website directly.

Non-USA Games:
Portugal vs Uruguay
Japan vs Spain

Add that to the Argentina vs Saudi Arabia and France vs Denmark from the first round, and we're ready for Qatar!

 

I'm sure some entrepreneur will get them made up.

 

It seems to be the team you selected as supporter/fan on the FIFA account. That's all.
