    I’m not convinced of that.

A win in May hardly guarantees he’ll make it the full season. I think it’ll be based on where we stand vis-a-vis the playoffs a few months from now, after we’ve signed someone during the summer window. If we’re on the bubble, I assume ownership will let Porter play out the season. But if our shitty play continues, and we’re mired down among the rest of the league’s also-rans, clearly without a realistic shot at making the playoffs, then yeah, I think it’s possible he’s let go.

For us punctuation fans: A good example of how the thoughtful inclusion of a couple of commas in that first line would have a pretty dramatic effect on its meaning.

I think with how congested the conference is, no one will be out of playoff contention until the final few weeks, giving the FO a good excuse.

I was under directives that we were done with the fire at that point in the night.

    F*** you, I guess.
Artur totally pokes the ball. And the Var Ref must have called down and told the on field to stop sucking.
Glad you were able to see a replay

The best example of a damaging lack of commas I ever saw was in a work email I received. A guy had been pestering the hell out of me to do something that I had no intention of doing. It got pretty contentious, and I finally responded by telling him that I didn't want him to send me any more emails about it. His response: "Oh I intend to jerkoff."

My response to that was that what he did or did not do on his own time was of no concern to me. And that was the end of it.

At the battle of Chickamauga, a missing comma in Rosecrans orders moved a brigade out of the center of the Union line. The Confederates charged through the gap and won the battle, leaving the Union army under siege in Chattanooga until Grant rescued them.

    This.

If Bez and the Haslams deliver a $10 million striker to Caleb Porter and he doesn't immediately start winning games, the new striker isn't going to be the one looking for a new job.

Hurtado snapped the defenders legs and beat the keeper. He may start the rest of the year. Bully for him!

Oh and Dom Dwyer is a complete ass clown, ass hat and total ass. Josh should have punched him in the nose.

There were rumors of a $2-3 million guy from Argentina last month. I wouldn’t be betting on any $10 million players showing up anytime soon.

    Desperately needed 3 points.

    The Good:

    1) 3 points!
    2) On the road!
    3) Room, Mensah, & Morris
    4) Set pieces without LZ taking them.

    The bad:
    1) Injuries
    2) We still suck
    3) Still need a CF and a winger
    4) And maybe a LB

Upper body strength is a highly underrated attribute for a striker.

While I agree with Kyle that it was unlikely that the team would fire Porter mid-season, the win this weekend essentially extinguished any hope of that and essentially extinguishes any hope for the season. The season is effectively over.

Sure we'll hover within striking distance of 6th or 7th place for most the season. Maybe we'll even get a result against a team in the top half of the table. Short of that, maybe Caleb will shush a wooden spoon contender after we come back to secure a draw and we can celebrate that like a trophy. But in the end we'll continue to play some of the worst, most unattractive soccer in the league. We'll field anonymous and unlikable players. If we make the playoffs, we won't make a run, though we'll face the danger of ownership deciding Caleb deserves another year.

It's just genuinely a pretty terrible situation right now. Thankful for the international break, wish it was longer.

I'm not sure what's worse: A lack of commas or people using commas where they should be using periods or semicolons.
