Benzema is not a classic 9. He can play as 2nd forward like Raul was together with Ronaldo Nazario/Morientes. He and Lewa will be massive attack of goals.

With Benz and Lewa, theres so much firepower up front. Me likey if the price and term is right.

Those two would buy us time to look for the next up and coming young forward.

Funny, I was just thinking how this sounds like a terrible idea reminiscent of when we tried to shoehorn Raul into the midfield, at one point starting R9, RVN, Raul, Beckham, and Guti, at the same time. Or RVN, Raul, Higuain, and Robinho.

Yep, I could see Lewa work with Benz and Vini. Not only that, we would effectively fcuk Barca over. In 2 years time we go hard for Halaand (if possible). Lewa and Benz will be 36 by then and can be a bench option if they stay...

All that being said, this fking world cup could have given us a new breakout star if it happened during the summer. But Qatar monster has to eat, so we gotta wait.

Not really. Benzema has played that role beside CR7 for years.
This would solve our problem on being over reliant on Karim. Plus they are at that age when regular rotation is key for them.

I'm sure Real Madrid will get completely fleeced by every club in this summer. Everyone knows Perez has tons of money all saved up for signing Haaland & Mbappe.

This scenario is almost comparable with Barca during summer 2017 after selling Neymar. They were forced to massively spend premium prices for Dembele & Coutinho.

I doubt Real Madrid will find gems for relatively cheap prices.

I don't see Benz going back to the role he had for cr7 and why should he?

I like Lewandowski he's a very good player but we don't need a starting striker we could use a second one to fill minutes for Benz. So I'd pass on Lewandowski.

Fully agree. Lewandowski is great, but Benzema has become more of a box playing center forward with the years and it wouldn't be either effective or right from the club to try to force him to accomodate Lewandowski. Also, Rodrygo's minutes will suffer again.

Guy says he supported Milan as a kid now. He just used us to make shitload of money, no more than that. All that dream talk is BS, and is step too far. Characters like that really not needed in our club, actually clubs like Man City or PSG better suited for him. Good riddance.

Romano in his podcast says he hasn't heard anything about Lewandowski and RM. And that he's focused on Barca with 3 year contract already agreed. Said Flo and Carlo will meet to discuss signing in attack after CL final.

There was no plan to sign a midfielder if we had invested a lot in Mbappe. Now Tchouameni is back on the radar. He mentions Pool and PSG as other candidates. Also said Carlo really liked Fabian Ruiz from Napoli.

Massive fee. We blew Pool out of the water. Hope he becomes an all round midfielder for us in the mould of Essien.

I'd expect more out of him then Essien. He has the skills for it.

The fee is huge, but we had 0 leverage and we, under no circumstance, could lose this race. The potential of the player aside (his ceiling is massive and he's already very established), losing this player would have been pretty damaging to the image of the club and puts us in an even shittier position moving forward.

And to make this even more clear, Tchouameni is the total package. He can play as a single pivot, as part of a double pivot, or as an 8. You're looking to replace a generational midfield, this is the way to go with three players that have the potential to be the very best in their position (Cammavinga and Fede)

True. I was scared of losing another public battle which would have been devastating for RM pull. He snubbed GM Mbappe and PSG right away too which is awesome. Got taste like Camavinga. [emoji7]

Tchouameni and Camavinga are going to be PILLARS of the French national team for a long long time. I think I would take the two of them over any other national team midfield duo.

Holy shite... €80m for Tchouameni is a massive overpay

Like I said before, Real Madrid will be get fleeced by many other clubs besides Monaco. The whole world knows Real Madrid saved a crapb ton of money with the intention of signing Mbappe & Haaland.

I wonder if there is a major sale in the midfield coming. I don't think Casemiro wll leave (or we would sell for something reasonable), but Kroos might have ideas given that he's seen his playing time cut and the writing is on the wall with transition to Fede already happening. Liverpool makes sense.

This excites me, I’ve only seen him for 3 games so haven’t been able to form a judgement, but hopefully he is this good for us.

This is also a statement buy in terms of how we feel about KCM going into next season.

If we do actually land him that is.

None of them are skilled enough to play as a deeplying playmaker or create chances. Real Madrid will struggle badly to control the midfield.

Awesome news...let's see the comunicado oficial

worth the extra $$$ to stick it to PSG and Mbappe, reassert Madrid as having pull

with Modric and Kroos maybe being to their last year, the timing couldn't be better

Camavinga has the skills. Just needs to hone it as he's still very young. Like he created the first goal vs City and had a pass for Benz before that too where he was slightly offside. If he can create like that in the biggest game at 19, no worries going forward.

We should keep looking in France for improvements. Malo Gusto is an interesting option for the RB position; only 19 but is probably still unknown that you can get him on a relatively cheap deal. Amine Gouiri can be a nice back up option to Benzema.

I doubt Kroos will uproot his family if he's planning to retire in 2023. If he wants to continue playing into mid 30s like Xabi, such a move would make sense.
