I don't understand how anyone can claim Chiello cares more about the NT than the club. The man was always a warrior that gave it all for club and country. I love both Juve and Italy and have never noticed the slightest bit of preference he gave to either. It's an unfair critique on a player that has always shown up to play when fit, regardless of who called upon him.

I don't think Chiellini placed Italy over Juve.

I do think though that Italy needed him more than Juve did in the last two- four years.

Neither the national team, the Serie A or anywhere else for that matter, has an Italian defender his caliber.

Someone in the national team thread said Alessandro Bastoni was at the same level but I don't think so. He may be in 3-4 years time but not now.

Bastoni can hold a candle to Chiellini’s feet

Exactly. I doubt Bastoni at 33 or in in ten years time will be as good as Chiellini either.

The past couple years? Funny how he managed to rarely miss a NT game, yet he missed plenty of Juve games.

I love Chiellini, he was great for the club, glad he was here as long as he was, but I also realized how the NT seemed to be a priority for him recently.

Let's be honest, if Italy made the WC, Chiellini wouldn't have left Juve after this season. He would have stayed in Italy.

Italy needed Chiello more than Juve did though.

I don't think there is one Italian born player or Oriundo for that matter, who is better than him to represent the national team.

I can't think of anyone currently , not even now that he is almost 38.

Watching Chiellini standing among his National Team Mates, he always seemed to sing the loudest with the National Anthem and stood the straightest. In my world family, God, and country stand before club and it is considered the mark of a man. Sure the INT was a priority over Juve

Well we look like a team just going through the motions. Not to bothered about the result tonight as it’s a nothing game for us. Miretti not in the game at all. Locatelli must improve next season as he has not lived up to what he has to offer Juve in terms of his distribution and quality and ability to control the game from the middle of the park. If we do want to go out with a win we need to show more desire and create more than we are doing

1shot. 0 on target, only 33% possession and a pass accuracy of 82% . Not good enough. A weak performance . Deligt and Sandro our best players tonight but as a team we were uninterested. Not to fused with our season already over, but next season we certainly need to play on the front foot, positive high tempo football with plenty of movement off the ball and more creativity if we have any hope of improving in our 4th place position this season.

Mercifully this season is over. The team needs new leadership, better players on defense and the midfield needs to do more.

This is close to Del Neri territory.

I know Max will be here at least another year, but he has been outcoached this year by a whole isshtload of coaches including the guy yesterday.

That was a lifeless pathetic performance and a fitting end to a miserable season.

Yesterdays game was completely meaningless, Juve had nothing to play for so they were just going through the motions no point dwelling on that. The rest of the season though, yikes.

Pirlo did much better last season which says a lot.

That's quite alarming sentiment. Who cares if the match means nothing in the standings. We are effin Juve, we should never feel comfortable getting embarassed by any team.

I mean you can cry about it if you want, I'd rather our players not get any serious injuries in a completely meaningless game.

Even though I hate them both, I'm happy it was Milan and not Inter that won the title.

Fiorantina had more at stake so it was obvious the dynamics of this game was going to swing in there favour. It was a game for us to experiment and give players like pinsoglio a run out. If we needed to win the game to finish in the top four I’m sure our mentality and performance would have been different, so yes it was a game with no meaning for us.

the man took a low salary all these years and is known for literally bleeding for the team (head bandages) how that somehow translates to him prioritizing NT over Juve not justified. Especially that we asked him to sit out for De Ligt to develop.

its actually pretty disrespectful to say that for such a legend of Juve who is also responsible for helping De Ligt grow and made others like Bonucci better playing around him. When it comes to NT stuff people usually have their own conspiracies but youre reaching harder than an octopus on this one.

even meaningless its pretty soulless and negative mentality to just say ******** it your last 4 games of the season. Its actually perfect time for the coach to experiment new ideas in a relaxed environment so we have a head start for next season.

we got 1 out of 12 points last 4 games which is pathetic

only positive was we got to see Miretti should be playing next season but in no way did it show that Allegri has any clue what to do.

i expect a mid season sack for Max if he doesnt get results with reinforcements this summer. Hes not really showing any signs of improvement.

You really believe they asked him to sit out for De Ligt to develop?? As for the rest? I never said he didn't give his all for Juve when he was out on the field. Prioritizing playing for one over the other has nothing to do with how hard he plays on the field.

Notice how he rarely, if ever missed a NT game, even if he was injured for Juve the week before? That's why I said he prioritized the NT his past couple seasons.

NOW we have people questioning Chiellio's commitment to Juve.

    SMDH.

People will see what they want. I agree that it appeared to me he prioritized the Azzuri and winning with them. As you said, he didn't try less for Juve when available and continuously gave his all.

Doesn't change the fact that he is a legend and will always (rightfully) be remembered as a Juventus legend.
