This interview answers the question about his parents:

“My parents moved my family to Spain for work when I was ten years old,”

    https://www.transfermarkt.us/gill-b...o-play-at-the-2026-world-cup/view/news/402473

Step-by-step, Gill, who admits that he has not had much interaction with the first team yet, hopes to make his way up to the first team. “My ambition is to break into the first team at Barça and play for the United States at the 2026 World Cup,” Gill said. That tournament is, of course, hosted by the United States together with Canada and Mexico. Gill knows that he will have to put in the work and is fully committed to playing with the US youth men’s teams, and his short-term goal is to make the U17 World Cup squad and break into the Barça B squad.”

Gill started the game at right back and took one of the PKs. You can watch the entire match here, including the shootout (25-minute halves):

Keeper guesses right way but well-placed kick with power. (1:03:21)

Is this guy actually heralded as a top prospect or is he another Lederman?

No expert here just have been following thread. Always hard to call at this age. Get the impression he’s a real, verified professional soccer player prospect. What I mean is it seems like people believe he will play in a top division. Will it be at Barcelona? That I haven’t got impression that people are super bullish but I’m also not hawking juvenil whatever games.

The vast majority of Barca juvenil players never play in a top division. Hopefully he is one of the exceptions but the odds are against him.

Exactly. It's also quite possible that, in his time there, Lederman was looking comparable to an academy-aged Sergio Busquets. Until he no longer did. There's just no telling how youth players will turn out.

Lederman was not a normal situation. Kid had to leave the academy mid-development due to FIFA.

True. But then once he obtained a Polish passport Barça invited him back again to their academy. However, he only lasted one year before they released him.

Yup, these kids can move along through the youth ranks and be very good, and they eventually most run up against their limit, which is no failing on their part nor the scouts or coaches. And when that happens, you can be found out quickly, but hard to know that before hitting whatever level is the limit for them

For sure, but we don’t know to what extent this gap in training/playing affected his development. Hopefully, Adrian does not have to deal with this and makes it the full way, beyond what Konrad de la Fuente even did.

Wondering what happened to the rest of the kids that were kicked out at that time.

Japanese national team player Takefusa Kubo was one of those kids, but he has faired quite a bit better than Lederman as he now plays at Mallorca. Barcelona fans were quite upset that when he was able to return to Spain he signed with Real Madrid, but since then he has been out on loan to several La Liga teams where he has been used mostly as a substitute and is unlikely to ever feature for Madrid.
