If Liverpool offer Vini 50m a year I wouldn't blame the player for wanting to go, careers are short and make all the money you can while you can. But the way Mbappe has gone about things is totally unprofessional and speaks volumes of his character. This isn't someone you win with. We've been praising him all year for having balls to holdout for his "dream move." In the end, the guy has his mother out there speaking for him.
I would agree if this was like any other failed transfer, a failure to agree to terms, etc. But it is obvious that the player and his entourage used our club as leverage and then went back on their word in some way. No hard feelings toward the player, but no one is bigger than the club. No one.
Well he wouldve been great signing, but if he prefers to stay put, its fine with me, we still gonna beat their asses no matter what.
Only possible concern is if they somehow convince ZZ to turn his back on Marseille and join them. That would concern me. Otherwise yeah they’re not going anywhere.
He's now prancing around the parc de prince saying how he always wanted to stay and win titles with Paris.....ahahahahahahaah the Bernabeu chanted his name
Mbappe trip to Madrid in the last week seems now like a teenager girl who come to see her crush with her friend (Achraf). By the way, his comic book now seems so ridiculous
Not sure about that. Jovic came to Real Madrid too soon and isn't strong enough mentally. Vlahovic from Juve would Come being a more mature experienced player, and is Hungry for ball each time he Plays. He got the mentality needed to reach the top.
Could have seen this coming from a mile away yesterday, knew he would renew, there was just too much smoke for there not to be fire. Anyway it’s not the end of the world, we’ve got money to spend and if we spend it wisely everyone would forget about this set back. Nkunku, Tchouameni, a RB ( Reece James would be a dream but impossible) would be a good summer. This team is a couple of pieces away from being truly dominant.
Mbappe just scored for psg (2 goals). Let him continue winning in the French league. Can’t believe I’m saying that, but if Barca will play them, I want Barca win (for football sake). I really hope Benz will slap him or won’t speak to him in the NT.
This is going to be a weird compassion but bear with me. I like to play video games and it's become very evident recently that when a companies main goal isn't creativity, fun, art etc. but profit, quality drops or becomes extremely polarised. In gaming, everything now has to be this AAA blockbuster costing a fortune or something that is heavily monetised through micro-transactions. The other end are indie games, 2D side scrollers and low-budget titles that may play okay, but tend to be short and look like shit. We no longer have great quality mid-tier games that we had a couple generations ago. A more relevant and poignant example of this would be eFootball. A game that went from a great football sim to one that chased profit and ended up having a worst product for it. The point I'm trying to get to here is that football is very quickly becoming more of a tool to enrich others; whether that be with individuals or countries looking to enrich their reputation and influence. It's throwing the balance of things off so much, that the sport is already drastically changing (indebted clubs, competition structure and breakaway divisions) but not in a way that caters to fans. Basically giving half a billion to a 23 year old player to stay. How on earth can we compete against that?
Really happy we didn't sign this kid. No hard feelings against him personally, I mean if they really had Macron stepping in...Christ...it's just football. You can't take it that serious. That's just insanity. There's no way a kid of his age can make any kind of decesion himself in those circumstances. My problem with the signing is his parents. They would probably all have moved to Madrid and they would put pressure on him or the club or both. Don't need that crap.
This & Haalands transfer this summer is proof the dial is shifting big time in world football. Money talks history counts for very little. In 5-10 years itll be City, PSG & probably Newcastle as the superpowers. This is the begining of a avalanche. If your not sportswashed you arnt competing
Perez made every effort and moved mountains to try and sign the player but I agree with those who say Flo should've set a hard deadline date for Mbappe to make his decision. He had no hesitation doing this with Ramos and this should've been approached the same.
