I sense zidane may have some role to play. May be he is their next coach and he would have convinced him to stay
Zidane has got some issue with Perez may be due to that Lucas his son was not promoted to first team

Agree with everything but the door not being closed.

It should be closed forever. Not pettiness or emotions. Just an example. The club deserves respect.

Last year Mbappe said he wanted to leave but not for free. He wanted psg to accept rm offer so they can earn from the deal. He could then sign an agreement with psg with a release clause to Madrid. what he did in the last weeks and today is Diss respectful.

I am not really phased by this. They won the league easily and are in the cl final.

Vini gets to make the left his. Top level Vini is a world beater. Next year he will get a full season after finally breaking out.

Benz is winning a ballon dor barring a miracle and is probably going to still be a world beater next year. I donot seem declining for at least a couple of years.

And I think we have seen enough of Rodrygo that suggests he could break out next year on rhe right.

It is not the end of the world.

This. Some of you are way too confident and way too harsh to others at times when it comes to the club and happenings around it. It’s only the internet, but let’s try and do a little better on that front going forward. None of us know, even if we think we do. We are bystanders in this show. Support the club, share the joy when things work out and commiserate when they don’t. Always hope for the best. That’s about sums it up.

As for Mbappe, it’s definitely a huge disappointment as we were clearly banking on his arrival to lead the club into its next phase. But the dude has made his choice and like you all said the club will go on and do what it needs to in order to remain successful on the pitch.

Tough decisions ahead for sure, because beyond Mbappe/Haaland there aren’t too many clear cut player additions out there in attack that will raise the club up to another level. And honestly man, Mbappe has definitely shit on the club in the way he has gone about this whole thing. It sucks hard.

Club has the Final next week, hopefully the players stay focused on the task at hand and not the circus.

    Wait, how?

Perez offered a lot for Mbappe, more than I would have expected if reports are true. If Mbappe decides he likes PSG offer more than that’s ok, not much Perez can do. Dude doesn’t control Mbappe lol.

End of the day, it is what it is. We have a lot of room now to play with transfer and salary wise, hopefully we use it wisely.

Edit - it’s a damn shame as I love Mbappe and this likely means he won’t ever play for us even if he really wants to in 3 years.

End of the day I don’t hate it think differently of Perez or Mbappe, whatever happens happens and it’s fine. Mbappe is well within his right to get the bag and I don’t blame him one bit.

It’s the way he played this. Dude said last year he cried after PSG didn’t let him go to Real. He released a f*cking comic strip saying he wants to play for his dream club. He played us and is not worthy to wear the shirt, ever.

Agreed, I'm glad Perez didn't throw the club into financial danger to save face. We had a desire to sign the player, unfortunately there was another interested party who were prepared to offer more money. Perez isn't Bartomeu...

Madridistas had become very enamoured with Mbappe especially since last summer, for this to happen like it has happened, that relationship is severed for good.

If Haaland’s buy out clause at City is true then that’s probably our move in a few years time imo, not Mbappe.

Exactly. Also Madrid reject Haland for him as their prime star for the upcoming years and new the Bernabeu. He gave his word to Flo and had a contract ready for sign.

There is a good chance that he never plays for Real Madrid now.

The Mbappe saga began before Vini emerged. If Vini cements himself as a top 5 player in the world and becomes a fixture on the left going forward, and in a couple of years they go after Haaland to replace Benzema.... then what?

When the opportunity arises and you don't take it, it may never come back again.
Things changes over time. In a couple years there will be a new shiny star emerging.

There is 0 chance. Man City aren't going to announce it without having all contracts in place.

Haland has a release clause in 2024. As he pron injury, let see him in the next 2 years.
In 2024, Madrid must buy Endrick. He is gonna be the next star. Unbelievable talent.

It is what it is. Perez and co will be rightfully pissed if so but it happens. People have change of heart or maybe he wanted to play it like nba/nfl guys do with free agency. I mean it is what it is. I don’t blame anyone for getting the bag.

    That’s tactics not strategy.

If he’s the best RW option out there in three years and he wants to come, the club shouldn’t say no out of spite.

What he won’t be able to expect is for us to make a move for him whilst he’s in contract, for us to go back and forth with negotiations when we know that he will just go back to PSG with our offer and use it to get a raise, or for us to shift our sporting project (either in terms of keeping a spot open for him, or for us moving players like Vinicius to another position to accommodate him). Those things were on the table this time, but we would be stupid to offer them again.

If his agent tests the waters in three years, we shouldn’t say “no chance, we wont deal with you out of principle”. It should be “Oh hi! We’d be delighted if you came, here’s the terms we can offer, this is the position and the role available, and if you want to join the deadline for applications is this day. You all have a great day now!”. Similar to what we did with Renee and Sergio Ramos.

That has to be the most glaring exit plan ever. Lets put in a buyout for when we think Benzema will begin declining at Real Madrid.

Let City figure out if he is healthy and polish off his skillset in the meantime. If he isn't worth his 150 million euros buyout by that time, he will not be interesting to Real Madrid.

La Liga have made their decision: they will report PSG for violating FFP rules. If they succeed, PSG would be KICKED OUT of European.

    Reported at twitter
    Good luck with that.

As far as I know nothing has been made official. Only thing official is him leaving his current club.

The way these things work out over time, I find it highly unlikely he will be the most obvious fit on the right side in three years. Things change, new shiny toys emerge. In another years, he probably may not be willing to play on the right side either. The older a player gets, the less likely they are willing adapt. PSG will pay him whatever he wants and let him choose his position.

Tebas is such a Karen. Always crying to the store manager about someone or something else. Get your own shit together instead of crying about PSG.

This has to be the most glaring violation of FFP rules ever. Barca has to let Messi go, but PSG does whatever they want.

Perez from now on will have to continue what he's done in the last few years, spend a lot of money on very young talent with hope that the reward will come. He's done it with Vinnie, rodrygol and camavinga. A lot of respect for that goes to Perez. Also continue with free agent players.

The days where a superstar top talent a-la Messi or CR come to real Madrid after they are already established stars are all gone.
This goes to any non oil money controlled club.

The reason is not that the club lost it's aura/history/success, but because players in Europe at the age of 21+ think about the money more than anything else. It's the world we live in. It used to be a club market, and now it's a player market.

I mean a talent like kroos when we got him from Bayern, will cost an enormous amount of money now days, probably $120M and above, we can't compete with that anymore, I mean having a few "krooses" at the same point of time.
(Especially after losing hundreds of millions on the Eden transfer, another Perez fiasco).

Perez just has to keeping doing what he is doing... keep Real Madrid's finances in order and open up that renovated stadium. With the new Bernabeu, the revenues are going to zoom up, which means there should be ample transfer budgets going forward. To me, this is more important than anything else. Can't be letting the club become the next brokeass Barca.
