    Hat tip to @IHSSOC for this one. He posted in the YNT DA thread that Ochoa has been removed from RSL’s team for rules violations but that a “reliable source” told him that Manchester United has been talking to Ochoa and is interested in him. He’s an ‘01 goalkeeper who turns 18 in January.

    He's the top '01 keeper in the country. Mexico youth teams want him and have called him up before but he wants to play for the US.

    Better he sign with RSL then all of the other MLS teams not named NYRB or Philly.

    Really think he needs to go to either Toluca or Bournemouth, for what I presume are obvious reasons.

    Starting tonight for Real Monarchs, vaunted stepping stone to the EPL.

    Can't start for Real Monarchs, but Barcelona (and Man U) is interested:

    Sort of a comical situation with RSL. Ochoa doesn't want to play for the Monarchs (nor would it make sense for the club to play him there) but he's second-choice behind MacMath so the only thing left to do is let his contract expire, offer him a qualifying offer (which he'll surely decline) and then retain his MLS rights if he ever comes back.

    I suppose if you are 1) a GK and 2) young and also 3) not playing you should generally aim to be one or both of 4) on a roster somewhere fancy or 5) getting paid a lot.

    This just may be the one case where both parties fell in the manure pile and came up smelling like a rose.

    Some suggestion of what might be up...

    Sorare Mexico
    @SorareMexico

    David Ochoa has been downgraded to the U20 team with San Luis. Discipline and attitude issues once again as I mentioned at the beginning of the season...

    The kid has a lot of talent, I hope he can get his priorities straightened out.
