The FA is worried bad behaviour will get blamed on them. It’s why I think in the future certain scandals that in the past haven’t affected a player’s England call ups at all could easily do so.

Smiths Rowe isn’t in the team at Arsenal, Grealish has been poor Ward-Prowse offers very little other than free kicks.

3 players off the top of my head you could reasonably leave out for him

You get way to invested in this sort of stuff.

Looks like Kalvin Phillips is off to Man City. If that is known in the next week I think he might be called up next month.

Some Leeds fans with connections to the team are saying they have been told it is happening and will be confirmed soon.

Theres been quite a lot of rumours doing the rounds and especially if Leeds go down. It could be just rumours but it kind of makes sense for City with Dinho leaving this Summer. Let’s see……

I think Bowen should get a chance. He strikes me as being a goal poacher type of striker that is very useful at international level.

Yeah, would be surprised if Bowen was left out of the next squad. Definitely a good player to have in the squad and if we are chasing a goal he’s someone who can add something from the bench. I think he’s quite underrated to be honest, his movement running from deep to get in behind the defence could be exploited if needed.

Four English players on the shortlist of six for fans players of the season. The four players are Foden, Rice, Gallagher and Alexander-Arnold. A good result (the championship equivalent is two.).

Apparently Guehi has an injury and is a doubt for the upcoming squad.

Abraham scored two more goals tonight. Makes him the highest scoring Englishman in seria a history. 17 goals in the league. 27 goals in total. He must have cemented his place behind Harry kane

I know stats aren’t everything and I for one don’t go off that as a measure for progress as would rather judge a player with my eyes and decide rather than say someone’s had a good game because of an assist with a 5 yard pass but I know many do and some on here appear to value it’s measure. Which brings me onto Gallagher, I haven’t seen or watched all Palaces games but apparently he hasn’t created any big game chances since November, nor assisted or scored in his last 13. Is he a player at risk for the next squad announced on Thursday?

I think he'll get in. If you look at his stats he's one of the hardest working players and best pressers in the league. If you want to bring some fresh legs on later in the game then there's no better player. Given the way we played against Italy I think if we'd have had him on the bench he would've added some of the intensity in the second half like we had in the first half where we restricted Italy pretty effectively. His stats show that his passing isn't very good so he's destined to be a devisive player. I think southgate will favour him over Maddison for a tournament anyway, although both could be in this squad.

I quite like Gallagher but he shouldn't be making the team as a creative force. He's not good enough for that, he doesn't have much vision. He is a good all rounder though and could be a long term option option if he found a niche as a more defensivem minded player as he's a off the ball machine. Even then though I do have my doubts about his passing ability, he always makes a decent number of terrible passes a match. Will be interesting to where he fits in at Chelsea. Certainly to get any minutes there he's going to have to be a deeper midfielder.

I'm not sure he makes the squad if everyone is fit now Phillips is back but equally there's basically no way everyone will be in for the Nations League and i'd imagine he's at worst first in line as a replacement.

Sounds like Arteta is trying to get Southgate to rest Saka. Considering he missed the March matches due to Covid I am not sure Southgate will be willing to not handle the chance to use him again.

Saka needs to play. The world cup is only a few months away. (Rhyming not intended)

So Foden won young player of the season. Not a bad decision through arguably his best performances have been in the Champions League. If he, as well as players like Mount and Alexander - Arnold, can bring their club best to England it will be very good news for Qatar

According to the Daily Star squad is announced on Tuesday. I do wonder how Many players will pull out citing minor injuries as a lot of players are very confident of making Qatar. Leaving the announcement until after most Players have already gone on holiday is not the best.

No one can afford to pull out as this is the last feasible chance to impress before the world cup

They are quite a few players who seem to correctly believe there is no chance of them missing out on Qatar bar being injured.

One thing that has been good is other than the Gomez/Sterling incident England squad are United and seem to get on well. Divided squads rarely win.

Not sure everyone has planned to go on holiday on Monday and if they have in pretty sure with their finances it’s not really much of an issue to change their plans.

I think through clubs will be perfectly willing to claim an injury. In some countries the backlash of being seem to withdraw when not injured even from less important games is quite a deterrent but that is not the case in England.
