Hmmmmm, so hard to predict which DCU team will show up when playing at home......... I'm guessing 3-1 bad guys And hopefully another downpour.
The only way we win is to pack the box, counter, and have windows (10-15 minutes) of an all out high press to force turn overs. No Durkin but that just means Djeffel goes 90 minutes for once.
We could also spike their caviar with bluegill eggs, thrusting them into a foul humour. Mayhap, willest they then to the privy fly, and return thence in a curse'd state of dehydration.
Exactly. We can't bet out here in Washington State (without going to the one casino in the state that the state allows betting on games) but if I could I would bet 3-1 as well.
Now that we have a tie, there is nothing special about this team anymore. Of course starting a winning streak would be nice. Honestly, I've got nothing.
This lineup screams park the bus.... 📋 This is how the Black-and-Red line up for #DCvNYC 💪#VamosUnited | @XDCFoundation pic.twitter.com/fpvVqXdCJq— D.C. United (@dcunited) May 18, 2022
This is what I would expect for a midweek game at NYCFC, park the bus, hope for a 0-0 draw. Not a home game. But we did hit a post 2 minutes in, so maybe we sneak a win with this lineup
Much as I like Andy, he’s at best a bandaid for the shotgun-blast-to-the-chest-from-a-foot-away level of suck that we’ve seen so far this year. I’m of the opinion - often stated, yes I know - that our ceiling with this lineup is eighth and missing the playoffs by a hair’s breadth. Taxi may drag us over the line and into a first round exit, but that’s only if everything else goes exactly right.
Well, put out a shit lineup, get a shit result. That was probably the most dispiriting half of soccer I have seen in a while. Not seeing a whole lot of positives to take out of it
So, I gots to know — if your strategy is to tank the Open Cup to focus on the — admittedly tough — three games in a week, and you get all of one point out of the first two games, how do you measure the success of your strategy? With a micrometer?
Huh? They were combining well and and getting in great positions. We hit the post twice and had another pass inches from being a tap in. We were pressing hard as hell and defending very well aside from the two dumb goals. It was an exciting half.
Flores today is playing like he should be starting something I wouldn’t normally say. Granted he is not playing like a DP. I’m surprised there are 10K people here. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone especially during the week.
Yeah, I thought they played decent for sure. Flores getting close to doing something, if Taxi starts we have a goal at least.
Apart from that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln? Seriously though, I get what you’re saying. But at the end of the day, results are all that matters, and you get results by scoring goals and not giving them up. Right now, we’ve got that exactly backwards.
