Roma reach agreement with Solbakken: yet to do the same with Bødo/Glimt https://t.co/rAuzeg3LTb— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) May 13, 2022
A Dybala/Tammy/Lorenzo front 3 would be very exciting. Just imagine: Rui Patricio Mancini - Smalling - Senesi/Ibanez Karsdorp - ? - Micki - Spinazola Pellegrini Dybala - Tammy A proper CDM is needed to pair next to Micki if Mou continues to use him as a midfielder.
I tend to think Dybala is a pipe dream once the offers start coming in to him but what do I know? I'd hate to lose Zaniolo but trust Mourinho if he feels that he can use that $ to bring in a player that's better instead of letting Zaniolo develop. My main concern is that the dearth of top level players is even more of an issue than depth and would hate to lose Zanolio to see him replaced by a smattering of aging veterans and rotational level players instead of another player that has potential to be a difference maker for the next 8 years. It also seems to me like we need to sign TWO defensive midfielders and singing both of them is priority #1 and #2 for the summer. If so many of our issues are DM related, bringing in one DM only hopes to solve that issue for a bit more than half the matches and it seems we have the true DM problem against every team, regardless of quality. Mhki, Cristante (+ Oliviera maybe if he's very cheap) always rotate in a pairing beside a real DM that fits how Mourniho wants to play. .
Dybala seems to be leaving because Juve don’t want to pay what he’s asking. I can’t imagine Roma will be able to either, nor should they. Dybala is a luxury player. He’s good to have if you’re PSG but bad if you’re Roma and he’s injured half of the season
Sign Barak, Amrabat and Bremer. Call it a day. Perfect summer mercato. /Yes, I'm aware this is a pipe dream.
Calciomercato Roma, intensificati i contatti col Sassuolo per Maxime Lopez #AsRoma https://t.co/d4FdOM54qU pic.twitter.com/v3AXohQ618— laroma24.it (@LAROMA24) May 18, 2022 Good player. Liked him at Marseille and Sassuolo turned him into a regista.
I'm glad the plan seems to be trying to sign one younger DM/regista as well as likely one cheaper veteran DM so, after years, we can cease plugging box to box, attacking mids or even center backs into that position.
Medhi Benatia recounts Roma tenure, hits out at James Pallotta: "Instead of building a winning team he constantly sold everyone so they could make cash." https://t.co/XhsVcuZA92— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) May 20, 2022
Said the guy that forced a transfer after one season for an even bigger salary. Everyone should remember how that saga went, one of the few former players I really despise.
Yeah ******** Benatia. Could have become an icon in Rome, but now is barely a footnote at all for any team.
He was allowed to sit at Udinese for too long. He could have been in Rome a year or 2 earlier. I can see why he wanted to take advantage of his form that year and take the big move at 27 but I maintained at the time, Roma had the cards in their favour to turn his request down and force him here another year before allowing the move. That next year was too important coming back to the cl and so close to building something huge. Then was the time to put the foot down and make a stand on player power. I wouldnt have worried about him being unhappy given the type of player he was. Once the games came rolling, he would have settled and then his value was only going to increase with CL exposure. Walter was too passive in this deal.
Totti said he’ll talk to Dybala about joining Roma when they play together for a charity match on Monday. So I assume that means at the very least it’s not just media speculation. Still seems crazy from a financial sense and hopefully doesn’t turn into another Pastore situation. But for the 25% of the games he’ll be healthy, a trio of him, Abraham, and Pellegrini would wreck most defenses in Italy.
Bremer’s asking price is only 25-30m, I think that would be an incredible investment. I fear he’s got one foot in the door at Inter though
