I'd consider Tammy an upgrade given Dzeko's age. Losing Rudiger, Allison, Salah, and then the guys like Manolas and Pjanic, etc., and add to that the loss of big personalities who were loyal, like de Rossi and Totti, due to retirement is the reason Roma aren't able to compete at the highest levels ATM. Manager wise, Spalletti I think was scarred by that loss to Man United and he's not as bold as he was before, but the football he had Roma playing was the right kind of football, he just needed more time to work out the kinks and the managerial standards in Italy afford few managers that kind of time. It's not like England where someone like Wenger can stay on as manager even after he has lost his marbles.
Tammy is for sure an upgrade on Dzeko, when you consider amortization and wages he’s also cheaper than Dzeko.
Yeah but let's not pretend anyone knew it was going to turn out that way. It was a risk. Tammy has exceeded expectations.
Dzeko scored like 8 goals last year and has a horrible attitude. Anyone with a pulse can score 8 goals in Serie A nowadays.
I agree but we didn't know Tammy was gonna end up being this good. It's more that than what a turd Dzeko is.
Roma fans on here bragging about, what exactly? 'Going far' in UEFA Competitions - Without actually winning? When was the last time Roma actually won something? Hopefully they can win the 3rd division European competition. Who knows when they'll have another chance to win a trophy. Could be another decade or 2.
"I know it’s a foreign concept to Napoli fans, but when you usually play European football this time of year" *Checks trophy cabinet of Roma in European Competitions* Maybe sit this one out.
Some players I'd be okay with moving on for the right price: - Fabian 30m+ - Zielinski 30m+ - Lozano 20m+ - Elmas 15m+ - Petagna 10m+ Players I would like to see us target: - Tajon Buchanan (left or right wing with big upside- Great work rate offensively and defensively) - Paqueta (Doubtful that he'd come, there's interest from the Prem but you never know) - Brenden Aaronson (A young talented #10 with potential to grow. We currently don't have a player fit to play the trequartista role) - Anthony Martial (If Man United is set on moving on from him, I still feel there's a special player in there and I don't think he'd cost more than 35mil).
To me the biggest priority is Spalletti. I don’t rate him and believe he is no longer a suited and and he never had the right mentality. Hope fans put more pressure so he resigns. It is critical for Napoli’s progress. The guy is a fraud.
Players leaving / contract expiring: CONFIRMED - Insigne - Ghoulam - Malcuit UNCLEAR - Ospina Players I hope we sell: - Lozano 20M - Fabian 30M - Zielinski 25M - Petagna 10M - Meret 10M - Demme 5M Other potential sale: - Osimhen 100M - Koulibaly 40M Champions League Income: 60M Cash: 100M Napoli’s biggest problem has been salaries. After this transfer window only three players will have potentially a higher salary than 3.5M (Koulibaly, Osimhen and Lozano). So Napoli will be back to profitability and can rebuild.
Players confirmed: - Kvara 10M - Anguissa 15M I hope we move to 433 as it gives us much more balance. Would live Jesper Karlsson and Berrardi and a top physical midfielder. Kvara - Osimhen - NEW RW (NEW LW) - Mertens - (Politano) / (Ounas) NEW MID - Lobotka - Anguissa (Elmas) - (Gaetano) - (NEW MID) NEW LB - Koulibaly - Rrahmani - Di Lorenzo (Rui) - (Jesus) - (NEW CB) - (Zanoli) NEW GK (NEW GK)
It’s funny when Roma fans come around strutting like roosters. I’m going to open a nice bottle of wine when they get humiliated by Feyenoord. I’m 100% positive it will happen
We have bigger problems. I used to dislike them but they are not significant. we need to get a team that can compete for the title.
So it looks like we missed out on Olivera (complications wtv the ******** that means) and Hickey who is going to Arsenal. Napoli have inquired about Rogerio from Sassuolo. Really nothing special left back who is a Juve youth product.
I don't mind Spalletti because in all fairness, he didn't have a summer to bring in the players he wanted. I think this upcoming season will determine whether or not he should stay.
I can see him staying, but it does feel like he's only keeping the seat warm for Italiano (possibly next summer) or de Zerbi (possibly this summer). Italiano: https://totalfootballanalysis.com/a...-fiorentina-2021-22-tactical-analysis-tactics De Zerbi: https://totalfootballanalysis.com/m...is-switch-to-plan-b-tactical-analysis-tactics One of these two is likely to become the next manager.
I have no idea what's going to happen. Logic says that Spalletti gets another crack at it. Can't see our owner paying Spalletti to stay home even if it's for one year (he is a cheap bastard) Also, as far as I know Spalletti has not made any requests on specific players. If you look at all the transfer rumors so far, it's all been like for like substitutions for the players that have their contracts expiring.
