I think we'll be outclassed by L.A. in the Open Cup[R]

I hope I'm wrong, but I think our boys have lost their edge. With L.A. coming off the Cup win I think we are toast. Unless L.A. is too busy celebrating to care.

You better win. If LA gets the treble, I'm pretty sure its the final sign of the apocolypse before the commencement of armageddon.

For the first time in my life I will be pulling for the Crew in this match. I don't care if you're going to be outclassed. You just gotta win!

I have no idea what "outclassed" means.

I'm assuming however that in this case you are stating that LA is so much better, so far superior, so clearly dominant in every facet of the game of soccer, than the Crew is that it isn't even close.

And frankly my friend, with all due respect, that is a complete and total crock of crap.

The Crew has always matched up well with LA.

Let's just hope that Sunday wasn't a flashback to Fat Sigi's early days with UCLA and he plays 9 guys behind the ball.

I just finished watching the final on my TiVo, and I have to disagree as well. They are a good team, but in no way are we outclassed.

It will be a nice change from watching the Revs style of play. We match up well with LA and it should be a much faster paced open game.

This was the ideal outcome: LA won't be as hungry, and double overtime will leave them a little tired.

I predict Fat Sigi won't last past the 33rd minute. The bratwurst lines will be far too tempting to care about some silly cup. We take advantage of this and win 3-1.

After watching LA the last few weeks of the regular season and in the playoffs, I was verey concerned about the Open Cup figuring LA would win. Yesterday's game makes me think that Columbus has a very good chance of winning the Open Cup. LA is very beatable.

The real question is....if I buy bratwurst and throw some at Sigi, will he catch them like Scooby Doo catching a Scooby Snack?

Not sure, but if I don't hear...

    Who ate all the brats
    Who ate all the brats
    Sigi Schmid, you fat bastard
    You ate all the brats!

over and over and over again on the VHS tape of the game which I MIGHT get in November down here, I'm going to be upset.

Good luck Crew. Do it for us fans. And your pocketbooks. Please.

How can anyone be outclassed by a team that includes Chris Albright?

Crew has always played LA tough and I don't think Open Cup will be an exception. Year in and year out your guys have given us fits, both at the Rose Bowl and in Columbus. And I can't think that this could be set up in a way to give you more motivation - wouldn't Crew just love to be the first team to knock off the new champs?

It will really be interesting to see if Sigi can get LA "up" for the match - after the charge of finally getting an MLS Cup after so many failures, an emotional let-down would not be a surprise. If LA plays well, hats off to Sigi.

And Crew should be rested while LA is on the road and LA played overtime Sunday. I would think Crew would be favored on that basis alone.

This will be my first trip to see Crew stadium and I am excited. I am very much looking forward to seeing America's first soccer specific stadium. Will be there with my wife and son. Should be easy to pick us out as I doubt that there will be too many LAG fans there.

I was looking forward to the trip even before I knew it was buck-a-brat night!

BTW: Your ticket manager was very helpful, and your team's web site is absolutely first rate.

I hope you have a great time, Cadaver. It should be a much more upbeat game than the MLS Cup. You'll see lot's of horse trailers from the National Quarter Horse Congress, and the Ohio Historical Society is co-located with CCS. Your family may enjoy either or both of those places.

The weather forecast is San Franciscoish (40s & lt rain) for the game - so bring some fleece and wind gear. Best of luck !

    Crew 3-2 in OT.

But, Cobi actually looked like he was doing something worth while.......getting in the box and creating lots of chances.........in the past you would see him floppin and twitchin' down the sidelines. He was all over the field. Our Defense is going to have to stay on RUIZ like stink on sh@t.......the reason N.E. got beat is the fact that their defense was slacking in the final moments. What was NE Defense pulling there in the end? a high school offside trap at midfield? hello, speedy gonzalez will get you every time.
Don't get me wrong.........We'll WIN! and Ruiz will be held scoreless!
