Another game against Brazil in friendly fixture is completely pointless and reduntdant. I'd send second strings if it takes place in middle east or down under.

This makes too much sense. Thus, I expect AFA to do the opposite.

Follow the money my friend! It is not in Africa.

You guys are making me think I posted something about a friendly being played... I'm pretty sure I posted saying the friendly is canceled.

Yeah, sure enough, I said the friendly is canceled.

And it was AFA that canceled it, so I'm not sure what the "follow the money" comment is about (in this case, obviously it's not hard to understand in general).

    I hear you brother.

I am against useless friendlies and unnecessary CONMEBOL qualifiers being played this year. Meaning, AFA and CBF shouldn't be scheduling games against each other in 20220 - right? Why? its not to be better prepare for the WC, so why would we play these games.

I am sure that CBF, just like AFA, should be more concern with getting ready for the unknown, not the known unknown. its the unknown unknown that. . . .ehhh, damn Rumsfeld and his quote. But you get the point.

LOL... I was wondering the same thing. I was like "they realized he said the game got canceled, right?"

Anyway, I'm sure everyone is happy about this news, especially the players

Idk what Argentina's plans are, but it appears Brazil is seeking an African rival as the replacement friendly for this FIFA date.

Garnacho scored a brace in FA youth cup final victory, then waving Argentina flag during celebration:) . His second goal was so Aguero.

Congrats to Lautaro & Tucu for winning Coppa title.

Just looking at past clips - man, Lavezzi was on fire in the World Cup final.

Also, news coming out that we might be playing a friendly in June in Spain, possibly against Morocco or some other African team.

He was on fire in Copa 2016, then broke his shoulder during goal celebration... A typical Argentina luck from 1994-2020.

There is another Fernandez that played in that game that you should keep you eye on. Equi Fernandez. He plays for Tigre and is loan from Boca. A talented midfielder who can defend and skillful enough to break a midfield-defense with a pass that leads to an attack.
I do think there is another really strong generation coming up. I’ll say this again. After the Dark Era, (2008-2018), we are seeing a lot of talented kids coming to their own. The future is quite bright for us.

Its so weird that we had such an explosion of talent before that (starting around the 98 WC) and then YIKES! Players like Lamela were getting us excited.

Coco had some deserved hype. He was pretty dynamic. Perhaps it was the story of FCB who came knocking for him as a 13/14 year-old and he decided to stay with River(Or however that story went). But I remember him being quite good for our Sub l teams.

I think Coco should’ve stayed in Italy. He just struggled adapting to life and football in England. He’s had some moments. I had stated he should continue to stay and fight for his place, particularly under Poch. But he could never get over the hump. Injuries and career stagnation never gave us the full potential of Coco. I’m glad he’s finding some success at Sevilla.

Not bad, considering Brazil went from R9 to Adriano to Robinho to Fabiano to Pato then finally Richarlison.

On other notes, Licha has been voted as Ajax player of the year.

So both Licha and Romero out for the rest of the season, no idea if they will make the finalissma, so it'll probably be Otamendi and Pezzella as the CB duo.

In the WC, we should expect similar situations like this.

I'd rather take a risk of starting Foyth than having Pezzella.

In a way they kind of did us a favor.. if the above information posted by SupaMario is true, then I feel Scaloni’s decision to call him up was accelerated by the risk of losing to him to Italy. And who knows, maybe now he impresses in June and goes to Qatar instead of Pezzella (or MQ, who was running from behind but still seemed ahead of Senesi in the pecking order til now)

Perhaps if Italy didn't show interest then Senesi’s chance would have been delayed til after the WC, or maybe never even come.

Could be one of those blessings, like when Emi ended up getting the starting spot in CA because Armani’s PCR test never cleared in time.

I’ve mentioned this before about Senesi… It would really strange that he would get a call-up for Italy when he does not even play in the Serie A.

I’m surprised they do not set up shop in Argentina, and look for any kid whose name ends in a vowel. Instead of building for the future, where they have their own grassroots project, they continue to look for naturalized or players who had a great-grandfather who decided to get onto a boat and cross the Atlantic.

Regardless, I do not think Senesi will pick Italy. If the likes of Cuti,Licha and even German all have knocks, then it is a perfect opportunity to call him up. It is rumored that Roma and a few other Italian sides are interested. As @locoxriver stated, he could fight for a spot to get a ticket for Qatar. I do not think he would be any worse that Pezzella or Chino.

Moreover, I think it is important to have 3-4 solid CB’s for a tournament. You never know with injuries and you know damn well at Qatar, Cuti and or Otamendi are going to be suspended for a match. Licha is a formidable choice but having a fourth defender there will help us a lot. We can have fresh legs,‘particularly if we win our first two matches( Yet I sense, Mexico will try to play for a win v Poland and then try to draw us in the second match, and then they have their easiest match in the third game).

Paredes healed up from surgery. What a shitty luck he's had this season always injured but then shows up in important games and is the boss of bosses setting perfect tempo without any appreciation (while carrying the injury) . Madrid couldn't touch the ball with him on the field. For me he is not replaceable.
