Which ticket, the one that got me into Doha ? Or the flight out of Doha ? If out of Doha, then can we not show any flight.. ie the flight which will finally fly us out and not the transit one (immediate one)
Any Doha locals can speak to this location? We were already booked here, like 8 man dorm room. 1 block south of D Ring, Nuaija neighborhood. Al Ferdous Gardens Compound https://goo.gl/maps/KuXz49iYSvYHM7B36
Its pretty good location. Pretty much on the end of D ring, Good connectivity to everywhere. There is a small mall called the "THE MALL" 5 min walk from you, has some eateries , coffee shops and supermarket. Metro is at the end of the D ring, you will get a feeder bus from the mall. Also there is a street called Al Matar Al Qadeem St, which is like 3 km from you ( the metro feeder buses will go that way) has plenty of dining option (1 km long) on the cheaper side. Off topic: Also for anyone looking to find plenty of dining option on the cheaper side, with metro connectivity old airport is a good place to stay. Its a residential Hub look how close the apartments are to Al Matar Al Qadeem St. The street is in between the metro Stations Oqba Ibn Nafie and AL Matar Al Qadeem stations.
nice good to hear you and your crew are settled. So party at your place before the Hamad Khalifa Stadium matches! You there for the whole Group Stage?
Yep, each US game i'll arrive the night before or day of and go to game and crash at buddy's place for a night.. and then leave the next morning for Dubai/Muscat/Home. I wish the 3rd game was at Hamad Khalifa, no WC games at that stadium. But Al Thumama is only a mile away, 20 min walk. So that Iran game can definitely be a pregame at our place. I think we'll have a hook up on alcohol as well. just sayin.
I keep hoping and checking that Qatar will open up some rewards availability so I can scrap my AA tix and swap em for some Qsuites... Unlikely, I know - but one can always hope
For context, here's average hi/low temps in Doha. You'll probably actually want a heater. ha. November 85° / 70° December 76° / 61°
85 when trying to sleep is not a good experience for me, but maybe I could buy a fan in Qatar, that could be enough for me.
Have a question that I would like some guidance on. Say I already have an account (let's call it, account 1) with FCFS tickets already purchased on it with a real passport #, real DoB, etc. Now say I land tickets on another account (let's call it, account 2) with the same name and DoB, but later on I change the original random fake passport # on account 2 to match the real one on account 1. Would my tickets get cancelled if they were for matches that land on the same day? So essentially it would be two accounts- one holding say tickets to match 57, and then one holds tickets to match 58.... As we know, FIFA wasn't letting us add tickets to the application for days we already had a match purchased for. Want to know if anyone is in the same boat as me, or has a clue as to how serious they are with tracing tickets to multiple accounts.
A lot of us are on the same boat. I have tickets on 6 accounts and only one has real information. (the other 5 have close enough information) I DO NOT PLAN to add my real passport number on the other 5. I don't see why you feel you need to do this.
Usually immigration will ask for the boarding pass you arrive on and/or the ticket you will depart on, so in that sense you're ok. BUT, Qatar Airways is the national carrier and so if many people start doing what you propose, they could easily coordinate with immigration to make life difficult for you. I would say that one needs plausible deniability as a fall back... otherwise you can be at the mercy of the immigration. DOHA airport is very modern, so it's not beyond possibility that the immigration have access to flight information... One thing you could look at is can you get the one way ticket with a layover in Doha for the better price? If yes, then I would say fine because you are not obligated to use the last leg if you don't want it and nevertheless you're already in the country and watching your matches. Unfortunately, I suspect once you add the layover the price shoots up. With expensive accommodation bookings and match tickets, I think it would be prudent not to screw with what you are proposing... but hey its been done before many times and so ultimately it's about your appetite for complications.
Wouldn't they not issue the ticket barcode if there's no Hayya attached to the fake passport # though? You'd think that's a real shitty way to "filter out resellers" if all you gotta do is just punch in a random passport # and don't even need to get it verified by the State for a barcode for your ticket to be issued lol. I wasn't planning to add my actual passport # to any successful applications/future FCFS purchases, but my only concern is if I have to in order for them to issue the ticket. I applied on 50+ accounts for reference, all with family + friends names and corresponding DoBs- duplicates of their info and my info in there, EXCEPT for passport #'s which are all random. I really think the only unique identifier is gonna be passport #. Just my opinion but I could be terribly wrong. Let me know if any part of what I'm talking about doesn't make sense or sounds off. Running on like 5 hrs of sleep LOL
It's a risk definitely. But past experience tells me FIFA doesn't care about filtering out duplicates. But we shall see. The current system was tested in Arab Cup last year; so we have a precedent on how things are very likely to occur.
I used the numbers of my old (expired) passports, so that at least something is true: those numbers were my real passport numbers.
As long as you have a Hayya which matches your passport I don’t think it will matter. I cannot imagine them checking hayya to ticket for 60k+ fans at the game. Logistically not possible.
What they explained was, if you book a new accomodation/dates, you can cancel the other one and contact them to process a full refund. But you do need to have another booking first.
Booked the Al Mansour Apartments. Seems like a good place to stay. Close to every attractions and the stadiums. Metro is like 8 min away. Will be a mad rush when the 2nd Phase winners are announced. Didn't want to take that chance.
