Assuming you mean the Authorization code? That only comes when you have successfully been selected for game tickets.
its not so hard to figure out friend. the highest demand games are usualy most expensive games on the black market so everyone did not sudenly become fan of argentina mexico out of footballing reasons, its cause they want to sell the tickets on secondary market for big bucks. watch out for scammers here too, loads of them hiding behind big mouths.
I think what is being suggested is that the account holder has the power to change guests - so if you buy someone's guest ticket what is to stop the account holder from re-assigning it to someone else? Or do we think that one the guest ticket is transferred, it's locked in unless the GUEST transfers it back to the account holder? Anyone know how this actually works?
You might be right, but as a very long running world cup fan (I watched the 1970 final when I was quite young) and every world cup ever since), I think Canada has an exciting team and style of play and will be very entertaining to watch. Canada - Morocco and Ecuador - Senegal are two of the most interesting matches to watch IMHO. I will definitely be going to both. Sure they're not the top teams, but the World Cup group play is about fascinating matches. Top teams are best watched in the knock out stages.
These theories are interesting . My reasons to go to WCs are not so noble. I wouldn’t travel more than half world , spend a lot of money , to watch great football players because I don’t see them playing because they play in European teams . My reason to travel to WC is to support my country team , in my case Brazil and my real wish is to see Brazil champion. And I suspect that the great majority of Latin Americans are going because they are willing to support their team, before anything else . And about the country of the WC , for me , could be any country , because if I wouldn’t go to a place that I don’t agree with behaviors or politics , I would have to wait for a WC in another planet . So these preferences are very particular, and it is difficult to be consider as a rule or trend. For example , the country that I more like to travel is USA but for WC I think that it is one of the worst places , because the local people even won’t know that a WC match will be happening in your own city.
For me personally, I go to support my team (Korea) and to travel the world. I was born and raised in the USA but I did live a few years in Korea as a child and I traveled to many countries growing up, so I use the WC as an excuse to go travel the world while supporting my country and as a photographer, hopefully take some good photos while I'm on the trip! Of course I don't support everything Qatar as a country does but I also know there are a lot of cultural differences in thinking.
I think you will be surprised for the USA World Cup in that the stadium atmospheres and Fan Fests will be top notch. Every "Soccer Bar" will be a blast and bars everywhere will become de-facto team bars b/c spoiler alert.... it will make money. Also flights to the USA and intra-country flights will be normal prices. Hotel rates will be exactly the same as usual and public transportation in every city not named Los Angeles will be great. Tickets will be awful like really really bad.
I agree we all have our own reasons for attending World Cups. While I love the sport and spend countless hours every week watching on TV and attending matches (I am a season ticket holder for 2 local teams), there is so much more to the experience than the matches. I am sure I will really enjoy meeting up again with fellow US supporters, although I know we are nowhere close to winning the WC. Those 3+ games will definitely be fun for me wherever they are played. Looking back, while I enjoyed the 16 matches I attended my best memories from both Brazil and Russia are about the non-football places I saw and the people I met. I will even say that I had a better time watching some of the games in bars than some of the matches I attended in person. So apart from the obvious moral issues with the Qatar WC, I'm extremely disappointed that the tournament is being held there this year because of the lack of interesting things to see and experience there outside of the matches. I think the experience of watching in bars will also be degraded also as it looks like all we'll have are way overpriced hotel bars.
I'm going to take on your final comment separately. While I'm American living in the US and am biased, I am almost sure that WC26 will be a very well run and super fun tournament to attend. Your statement that "the local people even won’t know that a WC match will be happening" isn't going to be accurate. This tournament is going to be hyped like nothing before and nobody can hype an event like the Americans. Look at what's happening with the Miami F1 Grand Prix this weekend, it's off the hook and the US is very new to F1 as a big sport. I can guarantee that in the host city centers where visiting fans will be staying, eating and partying it's going to be a very obvious special atmosphere with the World Cup being the biggest topic of conversation with parties everywhere. I guarantee this. So OK, if you travel out to the boondocks of some city yeah the interest will be lower, but that was true in Russia and even Brazil. I had 2 stays in São Paulo at the start (I attended the WC14 opening match and an R16 there) and walking the main streets downtown there was almost zero feeling the WC was going on. Yeah the bars were full during matches but otherwise not much walking the streets. In Moscow my hotel was outside of the city center and it was even more so not a "WC atmosphere", it felt like any other day in Moscow except in that city center. I'm not criticizing either country, in fact I had an AMAZING time in both. Just saying that in the city centers of the US host cities it'll be fun. Now as for Qatar, I'm not sure what experience awaits me. My expectations are actually rather low, so I hope I am pleasantly surprised.
My reasons for going to a World Cup has never been to watch football. Football has been the catalyst to visit countires and places I might not have visited otherwise. I didn't go to Brazil in 2014 to watch England, I went to visit Brazil, the country, and had a great time. One of the best experiences of my life was ending up with a small family, at their home floating on a large tributary of the Amazon near Manaus, watching Brazil v Mexico. There was nothing around us for miles. Just floating. Peace, quiet and tranqility. Two little kids teaching me to fish off the deck with a pole and line. eating the freshly caught fish. A fridge full of beer. State of the art flat screen TV and watching the game in someones home. It was magical.
I'm disappointed you didn't say that meeting me was your 2014 highlight @whiskerxx! Just joking of course, but it was a pleasure and hope to see you again in Qatar. My "best day" in Brazil was also a non match day. In Sao Paulo I met a friend I met on here for the first match at a historic restaurant over lunch. We then met up with a 2nd BigSoccer guy for the second game over Happy Hour at another bar, and then went to his home for the final match where we were joined by his friends including a senior journalist who was I think the NY Times bureau chief for all of South America. The local guys then took me to some bars that night, and I ended up walking out of the last one in broad daylight as it was early morning. It was a day/night I will never forget full of great conversation, fun, amazing food, and countless beers in probably 6 different bars. And it was totally unplanned and unexpected. Can I experience something like that in Qatar? I'm hopeful I suppose but doubt anything even approaching the fun of that day can happen there.
Ay caramba! I wonder whether Ecuador TST7 tickets would be withdrawn by FIFA if Ecuador are booted out?! What a headache! I see the Ecuadorian FA have released a statement that all is in order and they are willing to prove it.
You don't insert anything there. I was wondering the same thing but my reservation (and Hayya card later) was confirmed without any activation code.
Wow I applied like crazy to that one I never got that email. I ended up watching it outside in a bar in madrid
Same here I’m Mexican living in the US I have never been to another continent or flown to a different country aside from Mexico and Canada. So this is definitely the perfect excuse to check out Dubai and Abu Dhabi ( going to F1 race) and than Qatar. I know I’m going to be burned out watching 9 games in 6 days, but I’m so pumped in finally attending my first WC.
I think you will be surprised on how you won't burn out. I mean how many of us watch 3 premier league games back to back to back every weekend haha.
This is just Chile being Chile. They pulled something similar in 2018 and it backfired. It sent Peru thru and if they wouldn’t have brought it up Chile would have made the playoff. If anything , there will be a slooooow investigation that will conclude sometime next year. If Ecuador did something wrong they’ll be punished after the World Cup.
I do the same. But on my sofa here in California. But I’ve been to england and one weekend I saw Arsenal, Chelsea and Fulham. Just an amazing soccer weekend
This is spot on, my man. I think the atmosphere in 2026 will be off the charts, not to mention the sport has grown exponentially since I’m sure kast time many of you have checked. Continuing the Miami Grand Prix example, I was excited because I thought I’d waltz into the race with prime tickets due to low demand here in the states. Boy, was I humbled...
I think people here are underestimating us fan base . I am from Dallas , and during the World Cup in 2014 for the match of usa vs Belgium . They had a watch party in cowboys stadium and over 20k fans showed up. And soldier field in Chicago, had watch a party also, and had even even more fans just to watch on screens. I believe the atmosphere is going to be great during 2026, like they say . They will make sure they hype it up. I am excited for that but right now, I am just looking forward to Qatar! Like they say many times, the fans is what makes the World Cup special, yes the games are fun to watch! But Russia was my first WC, and my best memories are from the people, I met through out the tournament! And the long train ride’s lol.
