Man, I really hope they get the stadium situation sorted. Imagine this atmosphere in a modern stadium that doesn’t have a running track. Even goal aside, very good start so far.
Yeah even the same size as soccer specific stadiums in US Villareal's stadium was rocking on Tuesday during that first half just because they werent 20 meters from the pitch
Very similar to the first leg. We go 1 up then Leicester dominate. We need to attack this team, put them away
Leicester have been awful defending set pieces. I’d might consider taking Zaniolo off at some point and bringing in Eldor just to have another tall body for corners/free kicks.
Mkhi as expected is a loss. His superior ability on the ball compared to Oliviera would have had Leicester more exposed to our counter attacking threat. Nonetheless, as expected, we're far more threatening going forward tonight at home than in the 1st leg and are well worth our lead. But we can't continue to give the ball back to them so cheaply. We will pay for it. If we can go 2-0 up I think the game is done. We should be comfortable defending that. Remaining 1-0 and tiring legs is a different story however. The Milhouse/Oliviera pairing is undoubtedly our weakness but hopefully we can see this through.
Look what it means to the players and fans. Meanwhile the guy from Nicaguara is calling it a Mickey Mouse cup.
Could have played a bit more but even letting them have the ball, there was never any real feeling of conceding. This is what he was brought in for. Solid, professional, no fuss.
Agree. A couple of shrewd signings this summer and a bit more efficiency with the ball and cutting edge and we can be very dangerous next season. Grazie Jose. Forza Roma!
I'm not from Nicaragua but thank you or showing your true colors you racist pos. And yes it is a Mickey Mouse cup like it or not. You're happy to barely defeat a team who happen to be 10th in the EPL? Get out of your bubble and see what the others are calling this tournament. Good luck being the laughing stock of European elites when you win this cup.
It’s been 14 years since Roma have won anything. Even if this is bonsai-tier, I will gladly take it. That was the most comfortable 1-0 that I can remember in quite some time. Even with 40% of the possession it never looked too dangerous. I don’t think Smalling lost a single header.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a fan of parking the bus for the entire second half - doesn’t do my heart any good! We were extremely efficient at shutting them down, I expected more from Vardy and Maddison. Just goes to show how well we defended - which is a refreshing change.
Smalling bossed it. They really had nothing other than pop shots from well outside the box. Its nice to see a sensible approach and scoreline at least.
YAAAS! We're gonna be EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS!!!.. I know we won't be able to play in the Champions League next season but who the hell cares!
