I am in Medellín.. only the ESPN app was broadcasting it. (I don't have cable) just the ESPN app (Star+ is called here)
Now can we join Copa Libertadores since I always hear that MLS should win CCL first? Oh wait, it doesn't matter if MLS wins 5 or 1 or 0. It never mattered. I wonder what's next when someone brings up if MLS should join Copa Libertadores or not. (I know, I know....the distance is too much and unfortunately we will never see it)
The alternative is FIFA launch the expanded (32-team) Club World Cup in 2025 and the 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 CCL winners qualify for that. Wasn’t Infantino supposed to be in Seattle? Did nobody ask him?
Is now the time to remind people that DC United is responsible for all this nonsense? Yep, it was us, at home, that lost to Seattle in the US Open Cup final in 2009, for Seattle's very first piece of silverware in their MLS iteration. And yes, I was AT that game as well. Ugh. I am sick.
This won't make some of our long-time Mexican fans here happy, but right now you could easily argue that American soccer is ahead of Mexican soccer. The CCL trophy, Nations League trophy, and Gold Cup all reside in the U.S. now. Plus Mexico hasn't beat the U.S. head-to-head any time recently, while the U.S. has won 3 of the last 4 competitive matches. (Now I don't think the U.S. has caught and passed Mexico, but the gap is smaller than a lot of people want to admit)
Or.. hear me out here.. it was the Sounders that are responsible for the excellence since they joined the league. *patpat*
