Excited to watch Bologna’s Dutch midfielder (that we’ve been linked to for this summer) play in a full game
Darboe, I really thought he would have emerged this season. Seemed to have exactly the qualities Mourinho would want in a defensive midfielder. I can only think it has to do with positional awareness, hopefully that comes with time and experience. We really need a B team. In France, Serie C, whatever.

Afena's not getting it done. Might have to try Shomo, or bring Abraham in. Got to get these three points.
League games played between European ties with only a week's interval are usually difficult and this one was particularly so given the form Bologna has been in. I think the circumstances make the result acceptable if disappointing. The rotation was very understandable, although I agree that Felix should not have started and has not repaid the confidence Mourinho has placed in him; Eldor would have been a better option. We are fortunate that - Lazio's very fortunate win at Spezia on Saturday aside - most of the other EL contenders' results have fallen in our favour, including this evening with Atalanta one goal down at home to Salernitana after 76'.
Yeah, we have gotten crap ass calls compared to Milan, Inter and Juve as long as I can remember. I still think that awful PK decision against Juve in Rudi's first season was the most team and fan demoralizing one I can recall. I thought we had a real chance to actually win the Scudetto and that call seemed burst the bubble of belief. The numerous missed calls against Liverpool in the CL semis really stick out too. I think VAR has made it a lot worse though because it promises to get it better and is just so abysmally inconsistent. I'm not even going to say that Roma get the worst of it since my two good friends support Fiorentina and Cagliari and sound exactly like me about the amount of calls that VAR doesn't review and then the random one it does and reverses which was not as blatant. I think most fans except the favored teams and few that have gotten a random gift think this year has been an officiating disaster.
Yes, we have all seen them bend games in their favour for years with calls, but I have never seen a year that even comes close to this consistent. It's obvious it comes down to them fearing Jose actually achieving something significant. A good lesson for Jose to reflect on now he sees the power of the stripes from outside their protection. At Inter, he got all these calls, and they went on to collect their 3 points. I have Roma have had 12+ points positions being taken away over the season. Whether they went on to win the game in the end is another thing, but that's not the point.
