These are my notes from a call with fans and officials from Accommodation/Ticketing and Hayya Card.

my notes a bit all over the place but topics did get asked again and again. I will try to clarify anything and obviously may have made a mistake

apartments will have 24/7 reception. hotels available in the next week or so

fan village cabins going live tomorrow

$200 per cabin per night sleeps 2

more rooms available than Russia had

anyone with a ticket will have a room
    - note this is the official line

physical hayya card to be collected in Qatar

next week or so for hotels to become available.

accommodation runs in background for hayya application. so once booked it will be updated. even if you book in a few weeks it will be updated within 24 hours

    mobile tickets only

main applicant cannot be changed or transferred. guest tickets can easily be transferred.

day trips from neighbouring countries allowed for games but feature not yet in the hayya card - it will be added later.

no plans for souvenir tickets talked about screenshot modern world etc but not totally ruled out - my note - sounds unlikely though - there was pushback on the call.

partial resale is allowed but if you resale main applicant ticket you must sell all tickets for a particular game.

6k cabins tomorrow and more cruise ships to follow not clear on a date

main applicant's ticket will never be transferrable

    partial resale of TST allowed

if you want to add people to a booking you need to use customer service and they will add for you - accommodation booking that is – question was asked re 2 people booked into a 2-bed apartment. If friends decide to travel they can add 2 more by contacting customer service.

note if you want to sell main applicant ticket for a game you must sell all tickets for a game

Same as 2014 and 2018 names on tickets must match name on fan id. so same official answer - my notes it is up to you to make your decision on this. As per every tournament since 1994 the name on the ticket must match the name on your passport is the official line. - my note there was no fan id in 2014.

if your phone is lost or stolen visit ticket centre with your passport

any stolen or lost tickets not guaranteed to be replaced

host a fan still being looked at and maybe an announcement post ticketing - my take on this is that it seems unlikely but just my take on the way it was said.

You will need Bluetooth but not WiFi or active sim to use a ticket. - my notes same for the Arab Cup. Phone can be on aeroplane mode. Note obviously you will need Wifi to get a ticket on to a phone but this can be done via the app before you travel to Qatar. It will not be possible until a few weeks before the tournament.

that is the end of it. obviously stuff was repeated. if anything seems like a contradiction let me know.

    Thanks for the report.

I know, from the feedback from our fan rep, that there were concerns over the availability of affordable accommodation at the end of the current sale period when fans waiting to purchase tickets from national association allocations can buy.

Did you get the impression that they're confident there will be a decent range of options available? As someone travelling solo I'd hope there will be more than the current apartments that are a distance away.

    Fantastic info -- thanks!

I really wish they would extend the 80 percent refund date for accommodations so that when they do finally increase the number of other accommodations type, we could cancel and rebook. But I almost wonder if it was deliberate to hold back hotels and fan villages until after they had made the apartments sold to early applicants non-refundable (or potentially non-refundable).

I really don't see why they are making further accommodation available now. People who bought tickets in the first phase of sales have already had a head start on buying the more affordable options. They should be holding the next phase back until national association fans, and others buying in phase two, get their tickets.

    LEGEND ;):thumbsup::cool:

So, 200$ for fan village and hotel, cruises to come... I am now wondering how much they will cost. I believe we initially had cruise options for 179$, so still some hope for decent and fair prices for hotels

That's so bad, I was expecting a lower price for the cabins. How can they be more expensive than the cruise?

There's a lot of discussion about whether the name on the ticket application has to match the Hayya card, and I agree that it's too difficult/time-consuming to check all this at the gate (this would be my 7th world cup, and I've never seen them verify names at the gate).

But if you get tix through a "fake" account with fake names, then how can you then apply for a Hayya card? Don't you need valid tickets under your own name to do apply for one? I don't see much discussion on this issue. I didn't attend Russia 2018 so this whole idea of a FanID is new to me.

Does anyone know how far are these fan cabins in Lusail to the metro station? I just looked at a map and seems too far to walk no?

For Russia any valid ticket could be used for fan id. An account with ten tickets could get fan id for 10 people. It is not clear here if you need a real account with real details to get a Hayya card. You provide a valid ticketing number. My thoughts are it is not compared but I don't know for sure.

I think a lot of ppl will have the same reaction, ppl seemed to have been hoping for a sub 100$ price fan village.

Def not walkable 8-10km, prob have bus shuttles.

The other two seem very close to metro stations.

Ah! In the Hayya card FAQ under "Do I need a match ticket to apply for a Hayya Card?" it says:

Yes, at this stage we are inviting match ticket holders to apply for a Hayya Card. Further information in relation to non-ticket holders will be communicated in due course.

Didn't realize that it was now possible to get one without it!

I got my hayya passed on march 28th, most of their rules haven't much logic . I've used the application number that was fully successful but not in my name ...so they don't match that number to the applicant it was a single name application ..plus then you can sell tkts back to FIFA so what's the point letting people only book accommodation for dates they have tkts for .

Just got an email saying my Hayya card application has been approved. Applied a month ago. Maybe because I booked accommodation today.

hope everyone on here gets the tickets they want. The deadline is tomorrow, ladies and gents

    So two rhetorical questions:

    1. Why does the current standard response email from the Accommodation Agency say "There are no availability for hotel properties and may become available in July "

    2. Why are they such morons?

There's this at the bottom of the description of the Fan Villages:
I'm guessing that means there will be cheaper and less glam options.

One thing I noticed in the pics of the Fan Villages was no pictures of an en suite bathroom. Also, the pic from the outside makes it seem unlikely there is one. If so (of course I could be wrong), $200/nt for a shared bathroom seems steep.

    I just checked
Doha - Dubai retuen are soo cheap compared to Dubai - Doha return.

If u book a return, Doha - Dubai, it is half price of 1 way Dubai - Doha !!
Well im tempted booking Doha - dubai return amd not show up for the 1st leg (So I only use Dubai - doha). Does anyone know if i can do that ? Or the return ticket (Dubai - Doha) will be cancelled if I dont show up for Doha - Dubai. Thats a game changer.

I thought the same but in the stock pics of two of them they seemed to have two extra pics of shower and toilet. But dont know for sure until they post an actual listing,

yup! even if the agent tells you this is not the case. The robot will cancel your ticket and resell it. It's the way the airline software is programmed. You can get credit for the "error". But you may end up having to buy a much higher fare to get back.
