but then I have to buy both tickets. Since I am going alone, I cant do that, because I dont need the extra ticket. But as I understand, you are telling me that I Can use my real name on all applications, but I should use different passport Numbers, and whatever account is selected, I change that passport number to the real number, before buying the ticket
Is it better to apply for 1 game per account or all the games I want to attend through all the accounts? Knowing that I apply as a fan of the team with poor travelling fans
Well, isn't it better to ask for 2 cat3 (for just one match, right?), increase your chances of getting tickets and give/trade one away rather than having to pay for 1 cat1/cat2 in fcfs? By making up your info, you can create as many applications as you want, and therefore you have a chance of getting even cheap cat3s. If you use your real name in all of them, you risk getting filtered out. Idk how risky it is, though. Anyway, best of luck, brother!
I would apply for all games throughout all the accounts. Then for any accounts that won tickets, you can select which one to go for (you do have to take all of the tix that are allocated to you in an acct, or take none at all) All games are high demand right now (unless you're applying via your country's football association) so chances of an account getting anything in the lottery is very low
Are you quite certain about them using a different system? I ask because I recently put in an app for the CL Finale. The interface, steps, etc. were eerily similar to the FIFA setup. I was surprised by how much I felt like I was just applying for more WC tix.
To all those fretting about using the same passport no. or having to change it or whatever - Don't sweat it. Let me explain why along with some anecdotal evidence: People's passports will expire between when they make the application and when they arrive in Doha (or maybe they don't have one yet). FIFA *have* to accommodate this - and they have. My passport recently expired. So the number I used during the first FCFS phase (to successfully buy tickets with) has since changed. I've already logged into the Ticket portal and updated it with NO ISSUE. Guest passport numbers are even more flexible. I have, for this WC and several before used dummy numbers for my mates when buying tickets. To be safe, I update them to the real numbers later once we've purchased the tickets. But for the application it has NEVER made a difference or mattered. Others have suggested that FIFA could easily institute automated checks to block the "cheaters". a) Those people are giving FAR more credit to the operators at FIFA than they deserve. That process is outsourced to some third party that has a vested interest in spending as few development dollars as necessary to collect their payment from FIFA. They don't want to be developing and deploying some new process that might break what's been working (debatable) for the last X years. Not only that, but FIFA is not a startup. They are huge and move at glacial speed with lots of bureaucracy. I work in the tech industry. I've dealt with behemoth orgs like FIFA. If you believe they are nimble enough to make the sorts of changes suggested in short order... well... I've got a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in. b) Actually implementing such a system is more complex than those people think as well. Limiting by email works because you verify your email address... So, they know it's not bogus and also unique. Sure, you can use name+1, name+2, etc. to put in more apps, but each of those is a unique, validated email address. Your passport number on the other hand is NOT validated. So, there's no way for them to know if anyone is inputting a typo, expiration times not matching, etc. Without validating your passport number it makes zero sense to try and limit access by it. Now, could all of this change? Sure. But realistically it won't happen for this WC.
I've recently contacted FIFA and asked them if my application would be effected if my passport expires within 6 months of entry into Qatar. For instance, if I enter Qatar say Nov 26 2022 and my passport expires in May 10 2023. They told me no issues as long as your passport is valid after March 2023.
So you can make a dummy account with the same name for "main applicant" much like your main account, just different email, address, and passport number? Will you be able to change your birthday afterwards as well if the dummy account is the one that received tickets? @skwasha?
Thank you. Is it worth the risk then? FCFS seems the way to go after this phase? 1-FIFA can cross reference it with other names/birthdays and void applications. 2- If you get the tickets on that account, how do you get them printed if they ask for ID for knockout rounds? 3- What if they check at the stadium for matching ID? Again, I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but it's my first time putting in a ticket application for a FIFA event.
It sounds like yes. I emailed the FAQ about that place and this was there response: Thank you for your email, Kindly note that there will be a free parking available at the property. In regards to transportation, no official information has been released yet, please contact us closer to the event when we will have more details available. This is my first experience too but from what I understand (and I hope I'm not talking crap) the only thing that can be double checked are the passport numbers since they're the only "unique" data about a person. I also read somewhere over here and on the ticketing platform that the tickets will be e-tickets and not printable I don't think they'll check anything at the stadium, there's just too many people and too many games to do that. They're more interested in our money.
Hello, I'm trying to book accommodations with my friend. His passport expires on June 6th, 2022 and therefore it won't let me proceed past the Guest information page. He has currently expedited his passport but I'm worried that the place we want will book up. Is there any solution for me besides waiting until he gets his new passport? Can I book the place on my own and add his information later after he receives his passport?
I had the very same issue. Here's what they told me: Regarding the passport amendments, please be advised it will be possible to do in your personal account once this option is implemented on the website. Thank you. Best regards, Alexander Statsenko Sales Team Qatar Accommodation Age ncy 2022
Just to make sure I understand: suppose I apply for tickets for me and a guest, and we get them in the lotto and I buy them but in the end we are not able to go. I can sell and transfer only the guest ticket, because the main applicant’s ticket is non-transferable? Do I understand this correctly?
I don't know did i have to, but i've paid under the name of the main applicant. I'm sure you can pay under someone elses name, but i don't know how smart is that. They can cancel the tickets if they notice?
Great post, thanks. Why would they change it anyway? Let's back to basics = FIFA cares only about the money. They are doing pretty well and they are filthy rich organisation. Fans are paranoid and that is understandable, but we are giving them much more credit then they deserve.
In answer to your questions: 1) They theoretically could do this. However, I've never run into this issue. For reference, I've purchased tickets in the past 8 WCs now. In many cases using the same name, address, birthday, and passport. With the *only* differences in accounts being the emails. Again - *could* they do that checking? Yes. Do I believe they will or have the technical capabilities (currently) to do so? No, 2) Assuming you have a valid Hayya I don't see why you'd be concerned about ID. They have never once checked my name against the ticket. And certainly not matching tckets to FanID/Hayya. It just takes too much time when you're trying to shove 70K people through the lines as quickly as possible, 3) Frankly, I'd be more concerned with the group stage matches than the later rounds. Since those are generally more lightly attended and leisurely, the staff have more time to assert themselves. Also, by the time the knockout rounds roll around, the staff are more experienced. They know what to look for and they're more interested in getting people processed quickly.
Am I the only one that feels like we’re starting from post 0 every single day on this forum? The same questions over and over… can’t wait for the FCFS stage to start
That depends on where your starting point is. The clues are often there when someone is listed as "new"
Transfer is mainly for getting tickets to guests/friends. The "resale" platform will be for ditching unwanted tickets. (Search the thread for info.)
