I don't think Pulisic is going anywhere this summer. But if he happens to end up in La Liga, I would love to see him at Atletico. Now that's a team that will consistently challenge Real and Barca for the league title. Not to mention an attack with Pulisic, Griezman, and Jao Felix - coached by Simeone? That's got to be some fun/exciting futbol to see. Simeone likes to counter attack, and Pulisic's game is built for that.
I’m gonna throw this out as a possibility coming later this year. Pulisic lights the dang WC on freaking fire. Deep run for the US, Pulisics perceived value skyrockets.Chelsea once again build around him.
Yeah, I didn't get that either. My first thought was that, yeah, a Klinsmann or a Bergkamp (or some other top-notch pure poacher) just might have gotten a goal out of one of those. But they were definitely not easy.
Mario, no way in a Chelsea morning that Pulisic is 5'10" 160lbs. Let's be generous and say 5'8" 150lbs after a full breakfast.
If that's a full english maybe 153. That blood pudding can really pack on some pounds. For some reason they thrown in mushrooms, baked beans and like two halves of a full tomato. Not sure I get the point in all that
Me too. I like the aesthetics of the English breakfast, but I normally won’t touch the baked beans and blood pudding. I may take a bite of the tomato, but am also unsure of what they are going for there. Anyway, question for the group. Would it be so bad if CP became a killer “super sub?” Like, what if he was even considered the Prem’s most impactful sub (some are making that argument)? Would that be a bad position to be in, especially in a World Cup year?
Things you ask on Tinder for 100, Alex. My rando opinion is CP stays at least one more season. Unless Chelski fall apart and drop to 4th TT probably stays too. And everyone stumbles along like this where CP is a very good, often impactful, but not "the" face of a very good, often near best, team that wins some silver, but not the league.
Will be interesting to see if Tuchel rewards him with a start and we see Havertz-Werner-Pulisic. McGuire is an absolute gift for fast, dribbling types. Would love to see Christian get super aggressive and challenge lead-foot McGuire as much as possible
Atletico plays football antithesis to Pulisic.Be worse than Tuchel. In fact many people feel for Felix because he's constrained due to Simeone tactics. They're also a very unlikable team.
Pulisic should not move. His fragility leaves him better off on a team where he does not play every week. Especially in the EPL.
Simeone is so antithesis to Pulisic's "brand" (aggressive macho vs clean cut god 'n' Chipotle) that I want it to happen just for the laughs
I will make an offer to those who continue to blast this thread with proclamations of fragility. I will not post in the thread when Pulisic is injured if you will refrain from posting in it when he is not injured.
I've never met him, but I just went by the official Chelsea site. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/teams/first-team/christian-pulisic?pageTab=biography I know that the clubs will exaggerate, so I don't really know. He's not tall, he's not a shrimp.
Yeah, he is a shrimp. I was at the USA-Canada WCQ and was standing next to the team bus when he got off. I’m 5’9” and he was noticeably shorter than I am.
Reminds me of when I met Nick Rimando at a team event. He was listed at 5'10" I believe, and it was clearly obvious that he was about 2 inches shorter than that as I stood next to him.
I hope not. It isn't the best preparation. Unless you are coming off injury, you need more time. Look at his performance the last two years: 2020-21: Starting: 5G 1A Sub: 1G 3A (The goal was a late one in a blowout win vs. Krasnodar) 2021-22: Starting: 5G 1A Sub: 2G 1A (the other goal was late in a blowout win against Leicester. To be fair, the Assist was a very big one that helped Chelsea to progress in the CL against Zenith. He had 0 assists in the Premier League as a sub.) So, (barring an oversight somewhere...I did this very quickly) in the last two years, the "impactful" goals CP has had as a sub are...um, actually just one: the goal last weekend against West Ham. Add that to the 3-4 meaningful assists he had as a sub over the last two years, and I'd say it's better to start, period. I feel that the whole "super sub" thing is kind of a myth in most cases, and even where it isn't (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer), 74 of OGS's 91 Premier League goals were as a starter (4 of his 17 sub goals came in a blowout win against Forest, so if you take that one out, 74 of his 87 goals came as a starter). Of course, aside from the FA Cup Final, the rest of Chelsea's games this year really don't matter that much. But in general, I'd gladly take being a starter over being a sub any time.
