I have no fcking clue what I’ve just seen from our defence. Beyond comprehension indeed. Utter shit.

If we win the CL this season it’ll go down as the craziest of all time, this is a Capello 2006/07-esque campaign but in Europe.

By the way my favorite thing about Vini goal was that it came right after Pep was complaining and getting a yellow for being the bitch he is.

Our horrible play makes this loss feel like a win, it was comical how City missed so many chances to end this tie. Still, mad props to Benz and Vini for keeping us in with a shout.

 

Some of those errors I attribute to them having the home field advantage and momentum and higher intensity. We were lacking that for sure but that has nothing to do with Carlo.. Man City is a tough team to beat.

Idk if we setup differently like have players in the middle that can shut down the City players from running through it with little resistance then surely it would fix some of those issues. Kroos was so out of place and it caused Fede along with Modric trying to make up for it but suffering it in the end.

 

Oh and I forgot to mention that Alaba got hurt and we had to play Nacho..

 

We were a disaster in defense today. Somehow we survived. If Casemiro returns and we play a Casemiro, Modric, Camavinga, Valverde mid, we can beat them.

I think people need to go back to our expectations before the match - City are a juggernaut this season and their team works like a well-oiled machine in defense and attack. We were always going to suffer at their home ground.

That said, Militao put in one of the worst performances of his career. Kroos was not far behind; these two looked woefully out of their depth.

On the other hand, I am so proud of the team’s resilience and ability to bounce back. These guys are warriors. Yes City could have scored 5 or 6 but I’m also sure then we would have found a way to score 4 or 5. Let’s win the league this weekend and set up the remontada for the Bernabeu. This just feels like a fateful season.

 

Kroos can't play 6 against such team.

Bring Tchouameni is as important as Mbappe.

Carvajal Mendy are weaknesses in this team. Mendy can't be in the starting XI next year.

Mahrez toyed with the team and saved the team at the same time.
