Yes, but only technically. After the shenanigans that surrounded him joining Antalya, it's highly unlikely that he'll be going back there. If Antalya can't afford him, he'll be sold to someone else in the summer.
At least someone is doing well at striker over in Europe. Glad to see Haji's very risky power move paying off.
Actually, it could help. Even if they stay up, with the turmoil there since the takeover, having some extra cash will help with squad rebuilding and a successful sale, however cloudy the background, reinforces the "stepping-stone to better things" benefits of moving to Denmark in general and them in particular. Since they've finished the regular season rock bottom of the league and are doing pretty poorly in the relegation round, they're going to need everything they can get to rebuild next season.

When the defense refuses to close you down, you punish them. You do exactly what Haji did,,,, score. Haji is on fire right now.
Issue for me is, that doesn't happen in qualifying let alone the WC. He had enough time and space for 3 touches to set himself up. That's a great boot but I'll temper my excitement until he does that under legit pressure with one touch.
Yup, but you also have to take ad of those chances. He is doing it, will probably get a shot, and we will find out quickly where he is. Even if this is the best speed he can perform at he is doing what he has to and that‘s all you can ask.
It's slack defense, but there was still a lot to do, and he delivered it with his weak foot. It's more long distance goals than Pulisic has amassed at any respectable professional or int'l level w/ his strong foot even. That distinction is something Haji can rib his former youth teammate CP about if the former is at the next senior NT camp. Which is something that should happen if he doesn't tail off in the lead up.
Give the guy some credit. Great shot, of course, but dropping into the hole made that possible. Good movement on his part to find the space. The CBs, esp. the TCB, didn't make good choices but you can only beat what's in front of you
I said this last match. He is finding space. He NEVER did that before. Even in Denmark he really didn‘t do this. It‘s only clips, but even in those clips, you see a guy moving to where the D isn‘t. He is doing the job now. This is a pretty consistent run. It‘s actual production, not hopeful fan projection. Maybe he can only do it at a certain speed and level but he is doing it. That‘s what it‘s all about. That‘s what gets you chances.
This is the same league as Kyle Larin, right? Larin's productivity in the Super Lig has translated pretty well to international play. In about the same number of league minutes this season, Larin as 6 non-PK goals and Wright has 9 non-PK goals. Seems like Haji deserves a looksy this summer.
I'm generally an advocate for Wright's call-up, but your point continues to be a poor one I'm seeing parroted a lot now. Larin hasn't played CF for them this year, which means he's out of position to boot. Last year when he was playing more CF he had 19 goals and 5 assists. And his case is just as much about him being a regular for Besiktas. Tyler Boyd was also pretty productive for a mid table Turkish side. He had 10 goals+assists in 1200 minutes. Then he didn't translate to being a regular for Besiktas nor very useful for the US nat'l team. He also hasn't been able to fully backup his production in a smaller sample for Turkish clubs since. If Haji doesn't fall off a cliff before camp, he deserves a shot. But that's all it will be. We shouldn't have many expectations in either direction, because he's productive for a stretch, on a mid-table Turkish team. It could mean something, or nothing. FWIW, Switzerland is significantly above Turkey in the UEFA Coefficients. I don't think it's a better league top to bottom, but it's not much worse at this point. And we've seen how Pefok has translated to the nat'l team. He even scored some goals in UCL & Europa, unlike Haji (has had the opportunity to).
Well said duke. The Larin comparison doesn‘t hold water. Boyd was a dud and Pefok is very limited. They did however get chances because of their production. Haji will probably get his now. I will have no expectations, but he s earning a shot.
