We need more of that Lautaro. He linked up well with Tucu and hopefully they continue to try this out. Forget the Dzeko and Lautaro partnership. It doesn’t work. Molina continues to be linked to Juve. That would be interesting. But what a couple years makes, eh? Leaving Boca for nothing, and then being called up to the senior team, winning a CA and now being linked to Juve. I guess this tells you what confidence and giving a youngster can do for a player.
Argentina vs. Brazil on June 11 at the MCG in Australia. Victorian government has confirmed the match. pic.twitter.com/1ZTkOkCUQJ— Roy Nemer (@RoyNemer) April 20, 2022 Unbelievable. Players will fly to Australia for this dead rubber. At least there’s a big gap between the Italy game and this one.
The funny thing is that this match seems to be a friendly, not the postponed WCQ game. Melbourne Cricket Ground twitter account is promoting it as one of those "superclasico" friendlies.
The Argentina FA (AFA) deny that the match against Brazil in Australia is on, despite the match being announced. This via @HernanSCastillo. pic.twitter.com/vTzXRd2k2A— Roy Nemer (@RoyNemer) April 20, 2022 Absolutely ludicrous to make them travel that far. Just have it in USA or Europe if you want to make money.
So there are increasing rumors that Man City will sign Haaland in June. If that happens, River will push to extend Julian’s loan until December... Man City appears open to the possibility, although Pep still wants to analyze him in the preseason before making a final decision. We’ll see..
No more extensions. He needs to be in England ASAP. His ass has to leave already. Cut the cord, loco, it is time.
I think Alvarez has already learned as much as possible in Argentina. He should go to England in July and learn from one of the best coaches in history. Even training with the Man City players will teach him a lot and I don't think his place in the NT will be in danger.
If he's really that talented, which I think he is, he really needs to move to Europe at this very moment and starts banging goals. Lautaro is only about 2 years older, yet already close to reaching 100 club goals , not to mention his great NT record. You look at Messi, Saviola, Kun, Tevez , ADM, Lavezzi, Masche, etc, they're already a household name at 23. Time waits for no one.
🚨 ATTENTION: Brazil - Argentina must be played on 9 September in Brazil, to complete the South American qualifiers. @marianoantico 🇦🇷🇧🇷 pic.twitter.com/wVWvJGwfB4— All About Argentina 🛎🇦🇷 (@AlbicelesteTalk) April 22, 2022
I don't know why that tweet states Sept 9th.... the official FIFA statement claims the match will be played on Sept 22nd Anyway the international window for September is from the 19-27, so I wonder if we'll sneak in another friendly a few days after the Brazil match. It'll be our last chance to test things out before the WC.
Personally, I don’t like it so close to the World Cup but in 98, we beat them in their home ground a couple months prior to France 98. Regardless, let’s dance!
Greetings Argentina fans you have been selected as the first profile in a series on World Cup 2022 Previews https://beerandfooty-theblog.com/f/world-soccer-team-profile---argentina Am also recording conversations with fans from each World Cup country, here is the discussion with an Argentina fan, with commentary from fans from Holland and England, discussing great matches like the 98 Quarterfinal and the 86 Hand of God incident. https://www.buzzsprout.com/1966892/episodes/10407324
It will probably be our last match in front of our fans before the World Cup. I wonder if Trinidad and Tobago will be free?
Lots of news coming out in regards to the Argentina NT -The one locoxriver mentioned of Di Maria possibly moving to Juve -Another is of Guido. Would be great to see Guido at ATM. (🌕) Exclusive: Contacts are ‘ON’ between Atletico Madrid and Real Betis for Guido Rodriguez. @HernanSCastillo @TNTSportsAR 📂🇦🇷 pic.twitter.com/SpIV7Bew4b— All About Argentina 🛎🇦🇷 (@AlbicelesteTalk) April 22, 2022 -Probably the biggest one (🌕) Plan of Argentina before World Cup:• Squad will meet on 25th May in Watford.• 1 June ‘Finalissima’ against Italy.• Argentina have an offer from Israel to play friendly on 6th June in Haifa• September: Game against Brazil and Concacaf nation in USA. @gastonedul 🇦🇷🚨— All About Argentina 🛎🇦🇷 (@AlbicelesteTalk) April 22, 2022 Israel is in a group with Russia for the UEFA nations league this summer and because of the recent events, Russia might not be able to participate which makes their match vs Israel on June 6 available for the Argentina NT to play. If that is the case, I would like the NT to play against Iceland as well who are in the same group and Iceland might have availability on June 10. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022–23_UEFA_Nations_League_B#Group_2 Would like to face either USA or Canada as the Concacaf opponent.
I agree. Playing Israel will mean nothing. I’d rather play a side that will be at the World Cup. So, yeah, let’s find a way to play Canada or the US. I’m sure they’d be really tempted to play us.
If Brazil doesn't let Martinez, Romero and Lo Celso enter the country and play, we should send a B team there and organize a friendly elsewhere on the same day to make a point. Edit: apparently Conmebol corrected the FIFA communication and clarified that both countries have to agree the venue for the match!
Watford on the 25th of May. That would mean they are staying at The Grove probably. However being a mature adult I won't be hanging around outside the gates for a glimpse of the seleccion.
