@vibrantcolours we truly appreciate your insights on Doha. Are you familiar with the Al Mansoura district? me and two mates just rented an apartment there and it seems like an OK place to be. We're just a 10 minute walk from the Al Mansoura Metro station so at least it's convenient to get in and out.

Google Maps shows a handful of restaurants, gyms, shops etc in the area but Maps Street View doesn't work so it's hard to get a real feel of the neighborhood. I did find a YouTube video taken by a lady driving thru the area but it was stiil hard to tell. The video shows her driving north up thru Al Mansoura between C Ring and B Ring Roads.

It looks very much how I remember Manama Bahrain which I have visited for work several times. But it's hard to tell much from the video. Can you give us any info on Al Mansoura?

It will be one the best place to stay location wise, All the high rise towers are in and around this area. It will be in the vicinity of many 5 star hotels, and will be the tip of the chorniche. I would guess when the prices are revealed, it might be pricey. But if you can afford it go for it.

When i checked the portal there are many apartments in Mansoura, can you tell me which one you are staying in. I have stayed in Mansoura area few years back, it is a residential place in general as such you will find everything in the vicinity. Many super markets and small, affordable restaurants everywhere (Mostly Indian food and Arabic).

I don't know how accurate the Qatar accommodations map is, but if you put "SIMEX bldg, Al Mansoura, Doha, Qatar" into Google Maps I think it's near this intersection. Thank you again!

Maybe that Barwa Barahat Camp aint all that bad. Sure its far away from everything, but if there are many fans there, perhaps people Can have a Great time together at the location. Good conversations and just learning more about eachother. It Would be worse if you were the only football fan there

Or just wake up, go to the center of Doha, and then Return at Night. Its not perfect, but lets try to get the Best out of it.
If I had a match ticket, I Would have booked it right away. Im afraid its complety full, at the time I get a ticket

I’d agree with this statement. The countries may be at odds but Persian/Iranian hospitality is almost unmatched.
I’m American, of European descent, and was decked out in USA gear at the USA-Iran match in 1998. While I wish I could forget the game itself, we had great interactions with Iranian fans. At one point in the metro, pregame, our group of Americans met up with a big group of Iranians on a subway platform. A bunch of police came over in case there was trouble, within a few minutes we were in a call and response, with the Iranians chanting ‘USA’, and us chanting ‘Iran’. We hung out for awhile and ended up going to the game together, in Russia we sat in the middle of a large group of Iran fans at one game (the one against Morocco where Iran won right at the end). Once it was clear we were Americans (initially they thought we were Russians), we were quickly adopted by the group as Iran fans. ‘My cousin lives in Southern California’, ‘my uncle is in Jersey’ etc etc. (as well as lots of ‘we live in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Paris’, etc). In the cases were people were actually Iranians living in Iran they insisted on getting pictures with us. We were invited by a few people to have a meal together after the game. All by way of saying: No animosity whatsoever, in fact the exact opposite.

Thank you for the feedback, it is truly appreciated!

It would be GREAT to know what the price ranges are for these apartments that are "COMING SOON" and if there will be options for one bedroom apartments...

One bedroom is not common in Doha, The one bedrooms are usually seen in the West Bay or Pearl and Lusial Area. So keep looking is all i can say. Price is anybody's guess. But if you do find the above apartment in a good price range for you, take it. I would recommend it purely for the location.

Hi all, Please help me here. I’ve got a few doubts. I’ve got some tickets on my fake account(name, passport number,DOB, address all fake)for a single match during lottery phase and got a few on my real account during FCFS. I’ve used real ticket for Hayya and it is conditionally approved as I haven’t booked any accommodations.
    1. Can I use the main applicant ticket of my fake account to enter the stadium. I’ve read here that it is possible to use someone else’s ticket, but this is fake and doesn’t have a Hayya for the applicant too.
    2. Can a guest enter a stadium even if the main applicant ain’t gonna be there in Qatar?
    3. Can I resell(on the fifa portal) only the guest ticket and keep the main applicant or sell only one guest ticket and keep the rest or something like that?
    4. Do you think fifa will anyway connect the tickets to Hayya since they’re e tickets? Usually fan id and tickets are checked separately right?

I am American, of Iranian descent, and I can say what you describe is exactly what I would expect. The vast majority of the Iranian people love Americans, even if they may not agree with our government's policies. (Now their government, that's a different story, obviously.) I am sure you will see the same with Iran fans at the WC.

I am actually envious of folks who can take advantage of the visa-free tourist travel to Iran during the WC that was announced week (assuming it happens). Especially as an American, I expect you'll be treated like royalty by the people. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it.

Exactly. Before the draw, you could get 7 hotel nights with one hospitality ticket. That seems to be no longer, since each team's actual match dates are now known.

Guys please help me out here. It’s my first World Cup and sorry if the questions are dumb. I know the accommodations are a bit pricey so have to book it accordingly. If I can’t attend the match on my fake account then I won’t be needing to book ‘‘em and the cancellation policy is a bit harsh. I’ve seen some people mentioning about tickets they’ve got in different accounts so please do help me with this. :)

just curious, has anyone actually received their Hayya Card yet? I know we won't need it for a long time but mine has been stuck at "Pending (Accommodation Confirmation)" for a few days and I wonder if the computer is just not matching my Hayya application up with our accommodation booking since I wasn't the main account on the booking. The Hayya application didn't ask for the booking confirmation number, but my friend input my personal details which their computers should easily be able to match up between the databases.

I know I'm being impatient but just want to check another item off the list.

    1. Yes, you can use your "fake" ticket with the real Hayaa card. The names don't need to match. (Arab Cup experience)
    2. Yes, once you give the guest his ticket he can chose to go, or not. It's his ticket. However, He can't send it to anyone else; only return it to you.
    3) Yes, you can resell anything you want. But if you sell the main ticket you have to sell all the other tickets.
    4) That's a remote possibility. But would make entering the stadium very hard and impractical. The Arab Cup was a rehearsal for the new ticketing system and the card and ticket didn't need to match then. However, your fake account should have a close variation of your real name (John Anthony Smith, John A Smith, John Smith etc) and real birthdate. The only fake number should be your passport number. Which can be changed at any time. If everything is fake... dont worry about it; It is highly unlikely they will be checking names with tickets and hayaa card. I have zero concerns about this.

Snap, more flights means they'll be less competitive so hopefully will bring down the flight prices.
I've still not booked my flights as aiming to get them for about £700 from Manchester. This might open up the Dubai route, but not sure if to risk booking it just yet incase the prices don't come down between doha and dubai, as at the moment we're looking at doing the Ciaro route.

Thanks @marianelah . The name is close to my real name but is misspelled.Like instead of John Smith, it’s like Johnn Smit.Hope this won’t be an issue .DOB is correct, address, passport number are all fake. And do you think a Qatar resident can add me(international fan) as a guest in his cat4 tickets?

Thank you for your contribution here, it means a lot. Would you pick West Bay over any of these areas you mention above?

Yes i would pick west bay as my first option if it is available in my budget, west bay is a posh area, closer to the 5 star hotels, fine dining, Bars etc. Check how close you will be to City Centre Mall, which has variety of dining option and a carrefour. Most of the other dining options will be fine dinign and attached to these hotels. Generally living here will be expensive.

The other areas i mention are residential areas, where you will get everything at reasonable rates, ranging from the cheapest food, laundry etc to medium range restaurants, Connectivity to metros and easy to reach to most places.

So it all depends on your Budget.

No, it’s an Oil&Gas Facility, it’s a basin ie inland sea from prehistoric times. Wouldn’t think there is much gold here as it’s a true arid desert. You have to go more central of Oz to find that.
