Really good point. It’s too early to start trading or get desperate about tickets. We haven’t even started phase 2 :D. The focus should be on phase 2 strategies . There’s still plenty of tickets to be offered by FIFA

Any one else got 4195 Fereej Bin Mahmoud accommodation? I’m looking for the exactly location on Google maps, but it looks like this is just the name of the neighborhood.

I didn’t … they like hockey and generally speaking . Hate , I mean hate soccer. And their entire population is less than California’s. Before I get the Canadian response… peace … I love Canada

They will , it’s all the same to them. Adding a credit card pre payment option is more work for them. They have to process payments, process credit card declines and notify buyers . A nightmare for them. Why deal with the hassle? It worked in phase 1. Whatever isn’t paid for rolls into FCFS. The positive for us is … FCFS will have loads of unpaid tickets. Like it did in phase 1

Heh - FWIW Someone tried that a week or so ago by making a separate thread for accommodations. The mods consolidated the posts in that thread back into this one.

The Fan Zones are exactly what you describe in your second paragraph. They usually have bands come and play between matches and then there are a couple/few big (like 50ft+) screens for people to watch on. I believe at least two are slated for Al Bidda Park and Souq Waqif Park (there may be others).

This is because 2 of the 3 best supported nations are meeting in it. Brazil will have lots of fans in Qatar as well. There is huge neutral demand to see them as well particularly Brazil and Argentina.

England have not travelled in big numbers outside of Europe since 2002 or indeed to Russia. They will be by far the best supported European nation in Qatar unless Scotland qualify then it might be close. Hard to tell demand yet but nothing close to Argentina et al.

Qatar is a small country and I don't expect massive demand to see the hosts. No doubt they will sellout but little neutral demand.

Anyone heard anything about/from the Host a Fan program? I tried signing up as a fan. The site said they'd send me an email to confirm my email - never got it. Tried logging in but I can't because account hasn't been confirmed yet...

Quote Fifa: “Successful ticket applicants will be notified of the outcome of their ticket applications by email no earlier than 31 May 2022, coinciding with the start of the payment period.”

So, no credit card needed. The as the first phase.

Do you guys know how many individual matches one can apply for, in the random draw phase 2?
Can I apply for like 10 different matches? And then hope I atleast just get one of the games.
I want to go to Qatar as much for the atmosphere as the games itself. And without a match ticket, it is impossible

Last time I think it was 60 tickets in total with a maximum of 1 game per day. So you can apply for 1-6 tickets per game for as many days as you like up to 60 tickets total.

Of course you might be very lucky and get everything then you must either buy all you get or nothing. So if you apply for 10 games and get 10 games you cannot pick 3 or 4 of the games you really want.

There are still lots of different ideas as to what the demand will be. My belief is still that there will be lots of games available whereas others seem to think every game will sellout. We are all guessing at this point though.

It makes it very hard to choose then. I have to Think about the tactics I Will use. Maybe I should only apply for Irans games then and hope I get lucky, and atleast get one of Them. As I understand, you Can apply for lets say 10 games and get 3 of Them. It is not like they give you all 10 games or nothing

I feel some people are delusional on hotel prices. The 3 star awful reviewed hotels are close to $100 a night during the summer in Qatar. And the name brand hotels are at least $150 a night. I dont know what the demand of hotels in qatar in the winter is but I would assume $200 for a well rated hotel in the non World Cup winter hotel is not out of the question normal.

We also took this one as it was 387 for 4 people, 4 single beds, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and it is on the gold line, literally 550 meters from al Sadd station:

It is also walking distance 750-800 meters from the green line, area should be good.

The only thing which a bummer is…

For the life of me, how can you build a shower like this in BRAND NEW BUILDING IN 2020?! :D I only hope this some random image from another apartment because for this it was not yet ready..

I only took this until the end of r16s, still hoping for a hotel from when the days offs are starting, I guess I will have some opportunities.

Yes but if you apply for 10 games and are successful , you have to buy them all you can't then pick n choose ..I applied in first ballot for 12 games and was successful in all 12 game's

Exactly and 10 games is perhaps a little bit too much for me. Guess i have to apply for 3 and hope for the Best

I have seen the reportage with the main architecte who said clearly there are 86,000 seats in it, and i dont think many seats will be reduced for the world cup.
Same for khalifa, it is 45000 not 40,000
Bayt is around 64 000, not 60 000. i was in arab cup for UAE x Qatar game and the attendance was displayed on the screen, 63,500 i remember

there is something called world cup configuration with space lost due to media section, (many) cameras etc. I guess 86k stadium becoming 80k stadium for the world cup is just about correct!

strange for Khalifa as it is in theory a 45k and the other 5 except al bay and lusail are 40k but Khalifa is also written as 40k next to the others.
