How far after the draw will we know what games we actually get? I'm excited for the draw but want to know what games I will actually get to see.
Does anyone know if “full board” means alcohol included? It will be about plus 156$/day for the full board.
I have never been on a cruise. My understanding is that alcohol is never included and they take steps to stop you bringing it on board. They make a lot of money then by selling it.
In doha, current rules, you will not be able to bring in alcohol anywhere , be it ship , hotel or apartment. You will need to consume it from the place you bought it.
Apartment, you can bring anything you want to in as long as it's in a bag and not transparent. They don't search you every time you go in and out. Some of the cheaper, older hotels don't have security belts. However, the 5-star hotels almost all have security conveyor belts so it's more difficult. Where you will buy from is the question though as they don't sell liquor and alcohol in shops. There's just one store in Qatar where you can buy it and you need a special pass to enter.
I've been on a good few cruises and I can confirm that drink sales (even soft drinks such as coca-cola, fanta etc) are a massive revenue source for cruise companies. They have security checkpoints in place at the entrance to the ship and will hold on to any alcohol you try and bring on board until the end of the cruise itinerary and then return it to you. They usually sell pre-paid packages but you would need to be sure you're going to consume enough anyway to make it worthwhile. Usually, the only free drinks are water tea/coffee and juice dispensers around the ship. So I would have thought that 'full-board' in this case will merely mean access to main dining room and buffet restaurants for lunch, dinner and snacks through the day. I'll be staying on the Poesia but on bed-and-breakfast which I'm happy enough with as I'll most likely be out and about most of the day anyway.
If this was to happen for real, then one of my games would almost certainly be Brazil-Croatia. Where did you get this from anyway? I presume it's one of those draw generators that tends to pop up before major tournament draws are due to take place - and I wouldn't mind have a go at it myself lol?
Yes, My point was for tourist who don't have a QDC card for buying alcohol. For them Apartment, or hotel or an apartment will be the same since they cant purchase it from QDC (as of now).
I thought Italy were knocked out by North Macedonia last week? Or do you know something the rest of us don't?
You can only book hotels on the hospitality website if you book a hospitality match ticket, doesn't apply for normal match tickets.
FIFA says this on their web site: With most of the slots for the tournament having now been filled, Friday’s highly anticipated Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will split the teams into groups that will compete in Qatar. Subsequently, fans will be able to see where and when their team is playing before applying for tickets in the next sales phase. So the answer is sometime before April 5. I guess the people who make the stadium/time slot decisions for each day will lock themselves in a room right after the draw and start the scheduling process. But we will know what day each team will play their group stage games immediately after the draw. In my case I have a USA TST7 so I will know what day the US plays its 3 Group Stage matches just not which of the 4 the time slots/stadiums. Also, I will not know the exact day of my knockout rounds, as the first and second place teams from each group play on different days. So that won't be known until teams lock into 1st or 2nd place in their groups well into the tournament itself.
Do you guys know if it's possible to modify a passport number (current one expiring in October) after renting an appartment ?
hmmm interesting, I havnt seen anything. I know for Croatia, for the last 2 euros all you needed was an address or citizenship. Wondering if it will be the same or difference because its FIFA v UEFA. Thanks for the reply!
I asked them using the contact form, and they told me that starting in April we'll be able to manage our reservations through the website, and passport no. change is possible. I asked specifically for passport no., so other changes may be possible too, not sure.
Here is a group draw simulator if you want to mess around for the next 24 hours https://stattosoftware.com/wc2022/
What do they mean by "Activation Code" on the booking agency? (I'm sorry if this has been answered before here but I couldn't find any answer)
Hello everybody, I am New here. I have some questions. They may have Been answered many times, but I have Read many of the Pages here, and are still in doubt I didnt get any tickets After the first round, so I Will try again on the 5th of april. i was looking at the hotels on FIFAs website. It seems like their isnt much available. Is it possible that there wont be enough accomadation? Will it be possible to use sites as booking or hotels .com? And what do you order first. The hotel or the Hayya card? I want tickets for Irans matches. If I dont get Them, but somehow get another game, do you Think it Will be possible to Trade with others? Because your name is on the ticket, from what I heard. And if it is possible, Can you Trade in advance, or do you have to find a random person in Qatar to Trade with
1-We expect that the accommodation will keep adding up, there will be also the fan village. Moreover, residents friends (if you have any in Qatar) can invite you later on after they enter their unit details and assign passport numbers (Expected in October) of the guests on hayya website. Booking.com and other websites are closed for now. 2-you purchase the match ticket, the accommodation then Hayya, in that order 3-you will get your tickets, you have two windows in the next month. You submit multiple applications for the first random draw, individual or/and TSTs. If you are not lucky, just enter the FCFS window quickly (after the random draw window closes by around two weeks or so) and you will grab your tickets. You can trade tickets since the names on the tickets were never checked at the stadiums’ doors but this option (the trade) will have to be physically completed in Qatar since it seems there will be no paper tickets shipped to your country address
Same here 5 nights for $511. I’ll take that I know it’s far from Doha (17 miles I think) but I just need the place to shower and sleep. Once I step out I’m gone for the day and coming back just to sleep and shower. For transportation I’ll get an Uber to the nearest station or just get dropped off at the stadium. The room is cheap so with the savings it can be allocated to transportation and food. I’m not sweating it.
I share your minimalist objectives for accommodation - the party will be elsewhere! But I am concerned that sleep is unlikely if these units have paper-thin walls, no control over room temperature, and terrible beds and mattresses. Obviously this could occur in any of the apartments, but these units feel like migrant worker accommodations. Anyone want to comment on what they think of the quality of these Cluster units are/will be, whether they have these concerns or if it's overblown? My mindset right now is that the Tent City should be better, and I know those will be loud.
The accommodations page (https://www.qatar2022.qa/book/en/detail/57366/Cruise-Ship-Hotel---MSC-Poesia) shows an exact spot where the cruise ships will be - in Port Doha, where you would expect them. That's about a 3.8km / 47 minute walk to the closest metro station (National Museum), or 4.1km / 50 minute walk to Souq Waqif (metro). It's a pretty area, the park leading to the MIA, but I think that walk will get old quickly.
