Pepe and Danilo played really well and it was kind of easy in the end.

Under 21, Under 20 and Under 16 won also.

Poland beat Sweden in the other game.

    We're in!

Jota looked like a kid for sure, what's the purpose of getting in that guy's face? None of the veterans seemed bothered by the diving/rough fouls. He lost his mojo from the Euro.

Ronaldo hung in, but extra time worries me.

Not worried about the Qatar heat.

Way better to be hated. Bandwagon team gets seriously old fast. But the refs are way too noticeable.

I guess this means that Portugal indirectly won the World Cup of Ontario.

Portugal solved the North Macedonian puzzle and Italy couldn't.

We also had to beat The Turks (Who also deserve to be at the World Cup in my opinion)

I don't agree with that at all. He scored the goals, but his passing was way too sloppy. He kept giving the ball away. He gives the feeling to try to do some many things but often fails.
I agree with that. Pepe is great, as usual. I was positively surprised by Danilo. But again, the opposition of the day wasn't fierce.

Not too sure what the situation is like in Ontario, but Italy is missing 2 WC and winning the EC are all surprising occurrences. Italian football, club and NT level, has no elite players, unlike 20 years ago.

Portugal always go thru adversity and they WIN. Santos, I dunno why I dislike him but results matter.

That said, I wasn't sweating but the heat will be a huge factor (remember brazil?) I do hope Canada wins WC.

    VIVA PORTUGAL!!!!

I'm worried about the heat... It can take away a lot of energy and pace.

It’s a dry heat like in Portugal. It shouldn’t be as bad as Brazil. I live in New Jersey. It’s like a ducking swamp here during the summer time. I rather be in Portugal in their hottest day than a normal summer day here in New Jersey.

What's with the whining? We are Portugal, not Iceland. Why are you complaining about heat?

Leave the complaining about the heat to the Northern European countries. They have been whining this whole time like a bunch of P*****S.

We are the most acclimated to heat than any other country in Europe.

Our entire lineup is going to change by November. Long ways away.
    It was more Bento.

I'll pretend I didn't see you want Canada to win!

Portugal qualify, another disjointed performance..amazing how with so many good midfielders we have zero interplay and dynamic passing between the lines...cycle it out wide then cross or just blast it over the top...archaic. Such a talented squad that's going to the World Cup with top quality at nearly every position, spearheaded by Santos. Another 3/4 games and losing to Uruguay or something in the R16, and then 2 more years as he'll stick around for 2024. What a waste of possibly our most talented generation that could have accomplished something incredibly special, especially now that most others top nations are shifting generations are not as good as previously bar France. We're so static in our play...

At the very least as underwhelming and non dominant as we look, individual quality shone through and our top end players were clinical (Jota's cross to Bruno who finished it with conviction, Ronaldo's nutmeg pass to Fernandes who slotted it home)..that's the cutting edge Italy lacked.

Danilo was sensational in that first half, he cleaned out everything and was so composed, and Pepe in the second really came into his own. Easily one of the top 5 CB's the last generation, and will still hopefully make a imposing duo with Dias at the World Cup ( though like Ronaldo he can't play 90 minutes every 4 days..Santos needs to rotate them atleast once if he plans on going far in the tournament).

Also take a look at our June schedule...we have 4 games in 10/11 days for Nations League...we're killing players.

He needs to use the Nations league as an opportunity to play our young center backs.

Pepe can keep playing for another 8 to 10 years. I think he was made in a laboratory.

Back line is set for WC. We have all the pieces throughout lineup , just need a competent manager to get the best out of these guys.

Also really hope we move on from Patricio, we have so many better options at this point.

There is no need to stick with Patricio. His distribution is atrocious and his form has clearly declined.

Diogo Costa, Jose Sa & Anthony Lopes should be the keepers called up for the World Cup.

World cup draw tomorrow. Let's hope for an easy group draw.

    Best case scenario.
Portugal, Switzerland, Iran or Tunisia, Saudia Arabia

    Worst case scenario.
    Portugal, Germany, Poland, Canada

.....no 2 teams from the same confederation can be in the same group. And only a maximum of 2 European teams per group. This has been going on for multiple World Cups:ROFLMAO:

    Both your groups are impossible.

    What I want:

    Portugal
    Uruguay (Beat them after 2018)
    Iran (Likewise) or Tunisia
    Anyone not Canada

    What I think we'll get:
    Portugal
    Germany
    Senegal (great team)
    Equador

You are right. I went based on looking mostly the teams on the pots. My bad.

Hopefully no group of death, but I would not be surprised once again.
