The more I browse this accommodation website, the more it reminds me about the documentary about Fyre Festival. Fingers crossed it won't be the same.

Ha! Saw that documentary alright. The Hayya website is finally recognising my ticket application number. But it won't accept the pic of the passport or my own face pic. How do i make them into jpeg anyone?

Good Morning everyone! I was just wondering if anyone with knowledge of transport in Qatar would be able to shine a light on whether they think it would be possible to attend two Group games/Round of 16 games when the kick offs for both are 6pm and then 10pm? Most of the stadiums are within 20kms of each other but with approximately 90 minutes between Full Time and Kick Off would this be feasible or is it wishful thinking!? Any info would be greatly appreciated

I will be traveling alone. If anyone wants to share the room, let me know. It’s relatively not expensive tho I believe

Im hoping to do the same thing, but avoiding the two stadiums that are require shuttle buses from the metro.

Yes of course. 2 hours between games should be no problem. I did final whistle to anthems twice in the Arab Cup with an hour gap. However i don't think the consecutive games are possible in the World Cup due to the larger crowds.

Al Bayt will take a bit longer. Al Thumama and Al Janoub will also be a bit slower as shuttle buses required from the metro. The other 5 are on the metro.

Just keep in mind that for R16, there might be extra time + penalty shootout. And if you take into account VAR as well, the game can last 3h, 3h30 easily.

If you have a windows computer open you photo with Paint and then save as and select JPEG format. I advice you to use Firefox while applying i had issues with chrome.
    Best of luck

I will be really hoping for no extra time on Dec 4th & 5th in Al Thumama and Al Janoub. In both cases you will need most of the 2 hours I reckon.

I hope it is okay with the mods but here is a link to a video I did at the Arab Cup with lots of tips and tricks on getting between stadiums etc. It was posted here before but lost way back in the thread.

    Hi,

I have a Panama TST7 and now that they have been officially eliminated, does anyone know when FIFA would refund me?

Or should I contact them to start the refund process?

I don’t have any special knowledge but plan to try this during the third group games one day — from Education City to Lusail. Problem is FIFA won’t let me buy tickets for both. I decided I don’t want to try for R16. I don’t want to be stressed out if the first game goes to extra time.

This video is fantastic and extremely helpful - thank you so much for making it.
I really think you should make a quick post with like top 10 tips about Qatar for folks who might not have the time to watch the full video.

Btw: I lived in Dublin from 2019-2021 - hopefully we get to meet in Qatar!

    Hello folks,

First world cup for me and looking forward to going :)

I have a question, are tickets electronic or will there be paper tickets sent to everyone?

    Thanks!

There's in an influencer on IG who is a tourist guide in Qatar, and she says that in the local news they said that accommodation options will also be available on sites like Airbnb and Booking.com, and not just on the official site. Not sure how reliable this information is, but I hope it's true.

Nothing on booking dot com and I did see an Airbnb but priced at 2.3k a night and only the one listing. Can you post the influencer @ name please

I would think carefully about this and probably not try it in R16 without proof-of-concepting it during the group stage. I get the appeal, and I really want to do 2x games in a day. But...

I think the only predictably easy connection is between Ahmad Bin (Al Rayyan) and Education City on the green line, and possibly between Khalifa and 974 on the yellow line (but that is a much longer distance plus a bit of a trekk from the metro station to 974). But these stadium pairings do not occur in the R16 for the 6p/10p games.

I think the odds of success are much better in the group stages, where I think a number of combo options would work: a) 1p with 7p, b) 1p with 10p, c) 4p with 10p. There is a huge difference between a 2hr break (with the risk of OT/PKs making it a lot less) and a 4hr and a 7hr break during which you can realistically connect any 2 stadiums.

This is my first post. Nice to find this group.
I spoke to the Accommodation Agency who are handling the accommodation website.
    Their number is +974 4141 2022.

They have confirmed that hotels will not be made available on the website, they have all been allocated to FIFA, sponsors, TV networks etc.
I asked why they would even list hotels are coming soon and take the time of creating a website with that specific section etc, they said they will update the website soon to confirm hotels will not come.

This is, therefore, the official word and whoever rings them, they will reconfirm it over the phone.

I have to say, it still confuses me. If you were to buy a hospitality ticket, there is an option to book a hotel through that. I asked about those hotel vacancies and the Accommodation Agency said they couldn't comment on Match hospitality's allocation of hotel rooms.

If those hospitality tickets are not taken up, then what is to happen to the corresponding hotel rooms? Where will they go? They are potentially worth hundred of thousands of $$$ and, at some point, would rather be sold separately than be attached to hospitality tickets that are unsold. It's unclear whether they will find themselves on the main website or hotels sell their unsold seats via third party website and their own hotel chain sites.

At this stage, however, the feeling is that hotel bookings will not come up on the main site. I hope this is wrong, hopefully other people on here can share their experiences.

Thanks, that's great information. Agree that it's kind of ridiculous to have all this website done to not release anything, but it's all been a mess since day one so I can totally believe it. Didn't you ask about the tents in the desert?

Some interesting information on the FA's (England) website re how tickets will be provided. By the language used, they appear not to be in doubt.

For those who want a printed copy, it appears this will be possible.

They did give a date for when the fan village prices would come on.

Overall, the people working there are nice and helpful, but it's not staffed by many. I spoke to the same person the two times I rang.

I feel in my gut that there must be hotels coming on at some point.

That said, 4 nights in the cheapest hotel with a hospitality ticket is a couple of thousand $$$, plus $950 for a hospitality ticket. And those hotels exclude breakfast.

On the other hand, the apartments come up for 4 nights starting at $1500, potentially half the price and is arguably more space, as it comes with lounge, kitchen etc.

Even cheaper will be staying in Al Wakrah City or in the fan villages I imagine.

Cruise stays appears pricey, they offer full board, but for the group matches, with 4 matches on a day, I'm guessing most people will be at Al Bidda Park where they will have a giant screen, food, drink etc.
