So he went with his A team (with the possible exception of Reyna, as Gregg might be managing his minutes carefully right now).

Twice in a row, once while reigning European champions. That has to be a first. (Let us not immediately be the second...)
Cannon confirmed out with COVID so let’s pray he didn’t infect anyone else. Assuming the Moore reports are true. Yedlin is on a yellow so I’d call Scally too if it were up to me.
Confirmation Moore is in Orlando Gregg Berhalter: "Shaq Moore is in Orlando as we speak and will be joining the group." #USMNT— Larry Henry Jr (@lhenry019) March 25, 2022
Does Italy going out affect our chances of moving too Pot 1? That was another important thing for getting that W today
thought so…..,, those were some very…… very important misses by Pulisic and Pefok. Far reaching implications beyond concacaf
Easy to say ex-post. But ex-ante we had Dest, Cannon and Yedlin (with Moore as an emergency option). I don't think it is ever a "mistake" not to integrate an 19 year old (albeit one with great promise) so that he can play if the 3 guys ahead of him are not available. We have to be real here. If you like Scally fine. But who thinks it should be a priority to integrate a fourth stringer at any position. You can point to this at just about any position. If none of Adams, Acosta and Sands were available for Panama, someone would probably post about how it was "a mistake" not to integrate Tessmann. There is always a perfect storm scenario where being 3 deep isn't enough.
I think Joe Scally is (clearly) a better player than Shaq Moore today and that the gap will continue to widen significantly in the years to come. That said, I still think Shaq can do a job at home against Panama. That kid refused to turn his back on the USMNT despite (repeated) calls from T&T and a crowded depth chart -- he's proud to wear the shirt and I'll be proud to root him on. It's a huge moment for him and I really hope he delivers with a solid showing. I could also see a world where we go with Acosta at the #6 and Tyler Adams at RB with Shaq as cover. I would prefer to just start Adams at the #6 personally with Shaq installed at RB, and if Shaq plays poorly or goes down we can flip in Acosta and shift Tyler over.
Have I missed where this hasn't been discussed endlessly since October if not September? Pretty funny you are labeling it hindsight. In hindsight, it is revealed for the massive mistake everyone was saying it was. We had weeks of Berhalter training Brooks Lennon. Now, in an hour of need, we call Shaq Moore because Lennon is not good enough. But we spent weeks with him. He was on the January WCQ'ing roster ahead of Moore and Scally. Scally is a better player right now than Yedlin and probably Cannon. He is better than Bello. He is better than Moore or Lennon. This has been some strange self inflicted wound.
Don't think so. At a minimum it is not obviously so. Scally has gotten a callup. Then his club form tanked. By this late date his exclusion from the squad has logic squarely on its side.
