A bit of an underrated player in my eyes: Allan Simonsen.
Remarkable how often he scored from headers (height 1,65 m / 5'4)

How was he percieved at the back end of the 1970s?

It seems alot of the stars that emerged after the true peak of Cruyff and before the emergence of Diego maradona have been forgotten or at least not talked about a great deal

    Ones like rensenbrink for example
There was a quote I read although I can't remember the exact wording( or who said it)that rensenbrink was as good as Johan Cruyff but not in his head(he didn't believe he was)

It's a quote by Jan Mulder: “Robbie Rensenbrink was as good as Cruijff, only in his mind was he not.”

I'll agree given how you phrased it.
Can't recall a thing he did for France... or even in Europe with United.
Off the top of my head, for club and country I'd probably go with Klinsmann.

This is the start of a three part series I've titled

Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League

The First part covers his first stint at Manchester United debuting in 2003 and leaving in 2009

The second part will be his first 4 seasons at real Madrid where they couldn't get past a semi final stage

The last part will be his last 5 seasons at Real Madrid where he won 4 champions league trophies and I'll add on as a bonus part his champions league career post Madrid

It's a slightly 'ambitious' and lengthy project and it will require me to watch alot of those real Madrid matches again It will however definitely come in due time.

A video like this has literally never successfully been uploaded because YouTube would've took it down in less than 2 seconds and flagged it for UEFA copyright infringement lol

This is probably if not definitely the most complete video focusing on the skillset Cristiano of that time
    I included every single thing from goals,assists,pre assists,successful dribbles,wing play,succesful through balls,fouls won,freekicks,ball carrying,shots on goal,defending etc..

Non functional skills don't make it on my compilations

According to transfermarket Cristiano Ronaldo played 4307 champion's league minutes under Sir Alex Ferguson which works out to 49 matches

That is the equivalent of 1 season all comps playing for a team that makes it deep into the rounds of the champions league and league cups

These highlights are not from 300+ matches
not even one fifth of that

I hope you enjoy and would appreciate some feedback if you have any

Probably Cruyff. He had four incredible years (three at Ajax and the first season at Barcelona), where he scored many goals, provided many assists (he still holds the record for key passes in a world cup), won many titles. Play like Pelé or Messi, but for a short time. Then dropped due to smoking habits and diva attitude.

I would put Beckenbauer at 2. He had numbers way ahead of his time as a playmaker. More than 90 touches in two world cups (1970 and 1974). Xavi, for example, has one world cup with over 90 touches. And it was in the 70s, before rondo training drills, tiki taka or whatever. Beckenbauer was also an incredible defender. A leader in multiple NT and club-level titles.

They are 1 and 2 European players for me

    Underrated powerhouse

Someone seriously needs to do a statistical study on how many goals pavel nedved scored from outside the box
Ridiculous player(elite ball carrier and wicked crosser too)
