that Araujo sub happened really quickly - like he was about to come out anyway. I will grasp to the straw that maybe he just hurt himself and stayed down without pulling anything... I hope...
Yes, with your typical sub, the player slowly limps the length of the field back to the dressing room being helped by the training staff. Totally normal, nothing to worry about.
I hope Araujo has improved. Last I watched he was the equivalent of an Angry and Unreasonably Confident Omar Gonzalez with worse feet.
GRASP the STRAW!!! though yes, BUT he didn't appear to be in too much pain, or distraught, and may even have been favoring his hip rather than hamstring.
Dest don't want to see Egg. (and yes, I'm just doing random drive-by snark cuz I'm annoyed he might be hurt. This is my coping mechanism.)
Barcelona have drawn Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarterfinal, while a semifinal would be against either Lyon or West Ham. I think everybody can agree that the world needs to see that Barcelona-West Ham semifinal.
Looked like a twinge rather than tear. But it certainly seems the usmnt will have to play without him. I would not be surprised to see him start in the next europa league game.
Not sure how reliable this report is. Sergiño Dest has a torn hamstring, and will be out for a couple of weeks. Barcelona hope to have him fit after the international break. — @fansjavimiguel pic.twitter.com/lFEFRbVOHH— Barça Universal (@BarcaUniversal) March 18, 2022
A "torn" hamstring won't allow a player to be fit after this international break. Even for a mild tear, he'd be looking at something closer to a month to regain fitness. Hopefully, it is no more than a grade 1 (strain), from which he could recover relatively quickly after the break.
Slightly more (?) detail: MEDICAL NEWS | Tests carried out this morning on @sergino_dest have shown that he has a left biceps femoris injury. He is out and his recovery will determine his availability. pic.twitter.com/fcemL15Fl6— FC Barcelona (@FCBarcelona) March 18, 2022
I'm a little surprised that no one slipped back in here to report/comment. I could not watch and have only seen the highlights. Real Madrid 0-4 Barcelona Barcelona's first win in three years in El Clasico. Starting across the back: Alba Garcia Pique Araujo Dani Alves did not enter until minute 86 (for Alba).
yeah... this was a weird one, where Barca could/should've scored a few more... and yet, outside of some controlled tiki-taka later in the game, most of it was through direct play (ala Real Madrid typical style) and not any brilliant possession or dominating play on their part. RM was a just a hot mess and couldn't handle it.
The RM coach blamed himself. Rather than making a simple substitution for the injured/unavailable Benzema, Ancelotti (said he) experimented with a different formation/approach, which failed, obviously.
