Weston in height is like Schrödinger's cat. You have no idea how tall he may be that minute until you use the tape.
I was listed at 6' 4" 190lb in my college bio (actual 6', 170). I was also a competitive surfer. but I'm sure these guys are always truthful about such things.
and mostly... glad to see the news that Gio is getting close. every digit crossed for no whammies for him.
just have your team say you're a competitive surfer... wah-lah... extra inches and pounds sure to follow.
Much worse in basketball than soccer where height matters way more. There isn’t enough advantage in soccer in most positions for anyone to care to doctor the numbers like bball.
haha, my bad. may not May, as in Dortmund's use of "may be ready"; after years of guys on Germans teams and Germany's reluctance to play someone who may have even the slightest bit of recovery left, it's still unlikely he plays tomorrow. Would love to be surprised, Dortmund
T'was an old BS joke about our collective penchant of a) debating height and its utility in the sport and b) hyper analyzing photos and video for the slightest hint of an injury (awkward gait or posture, etc) If we had a proclamation that could be passed around about fans who could not care less how tall a guy is/isn't, I'd sign it right away
Try having a daughter who is getting serious about club volleyball. Holy shit- I keep telling her 5’ 8” is tall for a girl. She is obsessed with actually being 5’ 8.5” (true, she actually is) and then finding shoes with an inch sole, and then trying to round up to a “playing height” of 5’ 10”. And she’s a setter - she doesn’t even play the front row. Something magic about that double digit.
Tell her that being too tall can be as hard on a woman as a man who is too short. That may turn her attitude.
No, but American kids grow up being quite familiar with the fudging of these numbers on account of it happening commonly in other American sports so it would surprise me none if it were far more prevalent amongst American soccer players than anyone else.

Agreed. That’s not a title challenging team so if they can keep it close it really is quite an accomplishment.

he didn't score, but those two touches from Reyna -- settling it in stride and immediately poking it past the keeper -- were a thing of beauty and a good representation of why he's such a talent.
Great to see him back for club. Hope he gets a start under his belt and goes about 60ish mins next game.
